  1. Still playing all three. I currently have ongoing PBEM games of CMAK, CMBB, and CMSF.
  2. Very nice! These are some of the best skies ever presented in CM. The detail touches are excellent. Thanks for the hard work.
  3. CM has been great, but it's now time to focus on the new engine. PTO would be nice, but an expanded and improved CM is more important, IMHO. BTW, what size jar does Charles use? [ December 09, 2003, 03:37 PM: Message edited by: Snake Eyes ]
  4. No, no, no! This statement has been made more than once on this forum and it is not true. The external crane was used to load rockets into the vehicle. There was another crane/trolly on the ceiling which was used to place rockets in the storage racks and into the INTERNAL breech.
  5. Oasis, The Cesspool is the place that your mother warned you to never enter. If you disregard her advice be sure to wash your hands when leaving.
  6. I've had this problem before. Install/re-install DirectX and see what happens. Good luck.
  7. I've had this problem before. Install/re-install DirectX and see what happens. Good luck.
  8. I can speak from experience: I have seen a German 75mm round ricochet off a JSII and kill an SU-76. I was the Russian player.
  9. I removed and reinstalled CMBB, then installed all of the patches in order and my problem has gone away. Thanks for the help.
  10. Any assistance in solving the following problem will be much appreciated. Whenever I click on a Russian M5 halftrack or a Russian M3 Scout Car the game freezes. After I give it the three finger salute I get a message that says Unhandled exception error: c0000005 at address: 51028931. This error occurs each and every time I click on either type of vehicle. I'm using patch 1.03. I saw the same problem on patch 1.02. System specs: Dell Dimension 8250 3.06GHz Pentium 4 512MB PC1066 RAM GeForce4 Ti4600 graphics card Windows XP
  11. Hans, Thanks for taking the time to share these stories. It's interesting to see how tough things were for the ones doing the real fighting, especially on the eastern front.
  12. No offense intended, just having a little fun. Probably the most wonderful thing about Tigers was the training the crews received. If a crew did not perform well in training they were washed out. Their skill on the battlefield plus the power of the Tiger's 88/L56 was a lethal combination. I would say that most Tiger crews, especially in 1943, should be crack or elite. Nonetheless, it is not a good idea to stand and trade shots with any enemy tank. Bad things can happen to any AFV when hit by all but the smallest rounds. Consider good armor as insurance to be used in conjunction with sound tactics. Whoever hits first has the advantage.
  13. I've seen the same thing with my Tigar tanks, too. I only purchase Tigger tanks now. The most wonderful thing about Tiggers, is Tiggers are wonderful things. [ February 21, 2003, 08:50 AM: Message edited by: Snake Eyes ]
  14. Wow! This is one I never heard before. Would you care to provide a source for this? The version I've heard is closer to what Sergei said. The originals were actually begun by the British Admiralty while Churchill was First Lord there because the Army wasn't interested. I've heard they were first called 'Cisterns' to conceal their true purpose and this was later shortened to 'tank'. Michael </font>
  15. I would to see that as well. As the guy most likely to be put in charge of sound effects for the new engine I have already warned Charles about some of the stuff I am going to want to add... Madmatt </font>

  17. I suggest that when considering the ST you keep in mind the purpose for which it was created. It was designed to reduce heavy fortifications. It is NOT an anti-tank platform. Consider it the center piece of a force selection. It should be supported by some infantry and light tanks, such as the PzIIIN. I think this would portray a more realistic encounter.
  18. I really don't care what the engine rewrite covers. BFC will get my $$$$. However, I hope that they will eventually revisit the ETO and merge the East and West fronts into one all encompassing game. [ February 03, 2003, 10:56 AM: Message edited by: Snake Eyes ]
  19. This is probably the most requested feature that BFC is asked to provide. The current game engine can not be modified, within reason, to provide a full game movie. It should be available in the new game engine, which is a couple of years off.
  20. No - my comments are related to your specific question. Squads, teams, HQ's and such represent many men scurrying around. They are not fixed to the pixel display, but abstracted. A single object, such as a tank, is a different matter.
