  1. I wished some Tigers would miss me like that when I'm playing against them. ------------------ It wasn't MY company..It was the Armys' or so they told me.
  2. I have had tanks bog down (and eventually become immobile) in low lying areas when the ground is wet, or muddy. I've also had one tank become immobile when it moved through a bocage. Became usless after that as he couldn't see anything. ------------------ It wasn't MY company..It was the Armys' or so they told me.
  3. I guess it just depends on your luck. I've only seen them in one game I've played and they didnt do any damage. BTW how do you know if a plane is shot down if all you see is the shadow? ------------------ It wasn't MY company..It was the Armys' or so they told me.
  4. Well remember that AT rounds are kept track of individually whereas Small Arms Ammo is not. Small Arms Ammo represents the number of times a unit can fire. When it reaches "Low" you will not be able to Target with them, and they will fire only when in danger. ------------------ It wasn't MY company..It was the Armys' or so they told me.
  5. I took my granddaughter to the Veterens Day Parade today. It was cold but not as cold as the feeling in my stomach as I looked at the sparse crowd lining the streets. People will line up 4 and 5 deep for a Christmas Parade, or some other parade, but just won't come out for our veterans. What a shame. ------------------ It wasn't MY company..It was the Armys' or so they told me.
  6. You can leave them alone and they will unbog themselves sometimes (that is if they have a move command already). However, remember once it says "Immobilized" you are stuck there. ------------------ It wasn't MY company..It was the Armys' or so they told me.
  7. I second Stephen Ambrose's "Citizen Soldiers" and any book by Cornelius Ryan. Another book about the Huetzen Forest battles is "Follow Me and Die", but I do not know the author. ------------------ It wasn't MY company..It was the Armys' or so they told me.
  8. I believe someone somewhere said maybe by Christmas of 2001, but don't quote me on that. ------------------ It wasn't MY company..It was the Armys' or so they told me.
  9. Just want to put in my $.02 worth about my ol' lady. Been married 19 years and still lets me play all I want. She's great. I think she figures its better if I'm home playing wargames and not out chasing women! ------------------ It wasn't MY company..It was the Armys' or so they told me.
  10. I have had tanks bogged and then become immobilized in open ground that was "wet". It seems to happen in low lying areas, less so in the higher elevations. If the ground conditions are "Deep Mud" however you can bog and become immobilized anywhere, even on unpaved roads. I had a tank become immobilized one time as it went through a bocage. It was in the middle of a bocage field with bocage all around it. He couldn't see a thing and was totally useless after that. ------------------ It wasn't MY company..It was the Armys' or so they told me.
  11. I don't know, I played a scenario once where I held NO objective flags,(there were three of them) but caused a lot of casualties to the enemy with artillary and tanks. I got a Minor Victory out of it. ------------------ It wasn't MY company..It was the Armys' or so they told me.
  12. I've bought four games this year. I paid $53 for Avalanche Press's "Panzer Grenadier", $54 for Avalon Hills "West Of Alemein", $23 (in the value bin) for Talonsofts "West Front" and $45 for Combat Mission. At $45 it isn't really all that expensive when compared to other games, computer or board. In fact I was surprised that the game didnt cost closer to 60 or 70 bucks. Oh and BTW CMBO is the only one of the four that I actually play anymore. ------------------ It wasn't MY company..It was the Armys' or so they told me.
  13. So do bridges get the "*" or "**" sign on them to indicate damage? ------------------ It wasn't MY company..It was the Armys' or so they told me.
  14. You mean the world isn't flat??!!! Next thing you'll be telling me is there is no Santa Claus! ------------------ It wasn't MY company..It was the Armys' or so they told me.
  15. Congrats from your neighbor to the east (Arkansas). Oh and BTW Chup, I second your silent scream! ------------------ It wasn't MY company..It was the Armys' or so they told me.
  16. I bumped this up because I have a question. Are minefields supposed to be visible? I can't recall in the 25 or so games I've played so far anybody being killed by a minefield. I have seen enemy minefields at times. In a QB tonight I saw a AT minefield in a road but no one was anywhere near it. Is that right? ------------------ It wasn't MY company..It was the Armys' or so they told me.
  17. I would check with the sales department. I received my game in about two weeks from the time I ordered it.....and I didnt use a credit card..I wrote a check! I got my game about four days after I received the confirmation of my order. I live in Arkansas so maybe the President had something to do with it. ------------------ It wasn't MY company..It was the Armys' or so they told me.
  18. German tank trades simultaneous shots with a British Firefly tank. Both are knocked out by the other's shot! Imagine the scene, I'm locked onto the view from the German towards the British tank. I see in the distance the flash from the British tank just as my tank fires. Boom, both are hit and both crews bail. You gotta love that! Funny you should mention this, as I had the exact same thing happen in a scenario with a British Firefly and a German tank (a StuG I believe). I saw it from the Firefly's perpective. The StuG fired off just a split second before the Firefly fired and both tanks were knocked out. ------------------ It wasn't MY company..It was the Armys' or so they told me.
  19. Dega, I don't know how old you are or what your gaming interests are, but if you even have a passing interest in wargames, run don't walk to your computer (okay you're probably already there) and BUY THIS GAME!! I've been playing wargames for over 30 years, own many games including ASL, Third Reich, all the classics and I've never seen anything like this. Is it perfect? No, but its pretty darn close. ------------------ It wasn't MY company..It was the Armys' or so they told me.
  20. Do squads that are not moving sight in a 360 direction or just 180? Does it do any good to split a squad and have one half-squad sighting one way and the other sighting the other way? ------------------ It wasn't MY company..It was the Armys' or so they told me.
  21. You've all heard mine; its from Saving Private Ryan.. ------------------ It wasn't MY company..It was the Armys' or so they told me.
  22. I believe the British used different terms for their units but were still eseintally the same personnel wise. That is a British section was the equivalent to a US squad; a Troop was the equivalent to a US platoon; a Squadron the equivalent of a US company; a regiment was equivalent to a US battalion; and a brigade was the equivalent of a US regiment. If I'm not mistaken the British used the same three tier system that the Americans and Germans used in their makeup of divisions. That is 3 squads to a platoon, three platoons to a company, three companys to a battalion, three battalions to a regiment, and three regiments to a division. ------------------ It wasn't MY company..It was the Armys' or so they told me.
  23. How about you are driving down the road and suddenly swerve off it because you think those yellow lines down the middle of the road mean you've been "spotted"? ------------------ It wasn't MY company..It was the Armys' or so they told me.
  24. There are three Battalions to a Regiment and three Regiments to a Division. (The British called them Brigades instead of Regiments, but I believe the numbers are the same. Someone with more experise in this manner can correct me if I'm wrong.) Corps and Armys were more flexible as 2-4 Divisions made up a Corp, and 2-4 Corp made up an Army. ------------------ It wasn't MY company..It was the Armys' or so they told me.
  25. Isn't this scenario supposed to be at night? ------------------ It wasn't MY company..It was the Armys' or so they told me.
