German To US PBEM file problem
Scipio replied to MajorTaktik's topic in Combat Mission Archive #4 (2002)
Yep, zipping the file solves the problem. -
Ehm...yes, but what effect has it?

Several tanks show in some cases instead of an armor slope 'rounded'. What does it mean? Which effect has it? Why isn't it in the manual?

German To US PBEM file problem
Scipio replied to MajorTaktik's topic in Combat Mission Archive #4 (2002)
BUMP -
a) Movement orders: it would be nice to show the (full) distance in meters when I draw the movement lines. cover arcs : until I set the first point, I can see if the units has LOS. But when I have set the first point, I can't anymore. It would be helpful when the arc changes the color when I have (or have not) LOS to both points, like a simple LOS line.

Another pal of me sended a file, same problem. Somebody else out there with the US release? I would like to send a setup to test, just to see if this happens on other PCs, too [ September 22, 2002, 08:02 PM: Message edited by: Scipio ]

I agree, it would be really nice if we could choose between the 'old' and the 'new' way. Both sides have there reasons. Michael Dorosh, I'm a person who does not simply follow the way of people who say 'BTS has spoken, so it must me be the best possible solution'. As an example, nearly each other game allows basic game setting like the in-game screen resolution. CM is the only 3D game that does not allows this AFAIK. BTS is good, but they are not free of errors. [ September 22, 2002, 07:59 PM: Message edited by: Scipio ]

Mod help wanted...what file is it?
Scipio replied to Scipio's topic in Combat Mission Archive #4 (2002)
I seems not so...I have recolored the side as you can see below the edge. I hope BTS release a file list soon...it's nearly impossible to identify such a single file. -
This is a pic of JS-II, I found most files (7060-7069)...but there is still a small dark edge. Has somebody identified this already?

I don't like the changes in camera movement - once the camera rotates, once it moves left/right. IMO the CMBO way is better, cause I don't need to check if my mousepointer is in the upper or lower part of the screen - especially on snow maps it is a bit difficult sometimes - white pointer on white ground, you know... Yep, I posted the graphic thing, and it shows your post instead of mine. I updated my post with my initial text, and yours was lost then, as it seems.

A graphic issue that should be maybe fixed
Scipio replied to Scipio's topic in Combat Mission Archive #4 (2002)
Sorry, my fault. It seems the scenario creator selected this. They turn to rubble when they are destroyed. Looks odd anyway [ September 21, 2002, 07:49 PM: Message edited by: Scipio ] -

I noticed that the roof of factorys is not removed when the building is destroyed. Looks a bit odd. [ September 21, 2002, 07:26 PM: Message edited by: Scipio ] -
I have no problem to open my own PBEM files, and my German opponents don't have a problem with them, too.

Well, they surely make into CMBB winter battles... [ September 21, 2002, 06:48 PM: Message edited by: Scipio ]

I'm running the German version, my pal the US version of CMBB. When I make I PBEM QB setup, my pal can't load the file. But if my pal make a QB setup, I can load the file without problem. Anybody else noticed this?

CMBO vs CMBB demo - poor scenarios
Scipio replied to Scipio's topic in Combat Mission Archive #4 (2002)
Well, I don't know if I was meant when Steve was talking about whinners. Even if, I don't care about such small things since I was called an asshole (or whatever) by somebody on this board with Madmatts blessing I agree with Steve that you can't make it right for everyone. BTS thinks they made the best possible - well, I do not agree, and it seems I'm not alone with this opinion. I just offered my critic, but it is not up to me to sell games for BTS. My final though here is : somebody said that the demo scenarios will be forgotten anyway once the full game is out. This doesn't seem to be true for the CMBO demo scenarios. Cheers
