Oh my! We are graced with the presence of the great Eric Young. Aren't you supposed to be busy working on the greatest "not an RTS yet not a wargame either" there ever was?

BTW, your choice of beta testers has left you with one less buyer. I was fully intending to purchase GI Combat but the continuous digs by an immature beta tester have really soured my opinion of the game and that community in general.

  2. I think people who are buying multiple copies to send to Europe should contact those people and ask permission to test the disks before shipping them out. It would save them the trouble of paying for shipping twice.

I ordered 3 copies (1 for me, 2 for a couple of friends) and tested them all out before I gave them their copy. Good thing too as there was one bad disk in the bunch. Fortunately we could copy another disk and they are set until I get a replacement for them.

Just a suggestion to save people some time, money and frustration.

  3. GOT 'EM!

Delivered by UPS (not USPS) this afternoon. Anyone with more than 2 copies will probably have it delivered this way.

Kinda bad timing. My mom's birthday is today and I'm taking her and the rest of the family out to eat. Some things are more important.

Sometime tonight I'll be driving across the steppes or slugging it out in Stalingrad.

  4. I just installed a Geforce4 Ti4600 (for CM:BB) that has this feature. According to the "What's this?" help tooltip, 4xS is for Direct3D only (which CM:BB is) and is supposed to be an enhanced FSAA (better looking) that might be slower. I've been running the CM:BB demo with it on and it works fine (30.82 drivers). Haven't noticed a large difference between 4x and 4xS. No real speed change either but it might be a factor with larger scenarios.

    Hope this helps.

Just use Sound Recorder. It's usually installed on every Windows installation. Open the WAV file with it, increase the volume by 25% (Under the Effects menu) how ever many times you want (4 times = 100% = 2x the volume of the original). That's all I did for my MG-42 sounds I did for CM:BO.

If you go too far either way it can start to distort the sound. So play around with it until you are satisfied. As always, backup before you start.

If you're on a Mac, I can't help you. But I'm sure there is a similar program installed.

After reading what you went through with CM:BO, I don't even want to think about it.

Maybe they needed to send out for some bigger envelopes :D

Let's hope so. I was thinking it would probably be a small box. Maybe multiple orders are taking a bit longer to process.

Here is to receiving both at the same time tomorrow!

    Amen.

    And good luck.

    sorry cant spell!

Well, you'll have a long wait.

In Cedar Rapids myself. Pre-ordered on 9/7 with order number in the 80,000s (3 copies) and haven't seen it yet.

    Thanks.

By the way, my order number is 90,2XX and I ordered on 9/14. Good luck and see you all on the battlefield in the future!

Guess it doesn't matter when you pre-order. I ordered on 9/7 (about 9:00am or so) with an order number in the 80,000s. That doesn't really matter because it's just a random number any way (I hope :( ).

Note to self: Don't knock yourself out to pre-order CM3 or CMII or whatever it's gonna be called. ;)

Still a bit too early to be concerned

That's where I'm at as well. I'm a bit farther inland though. I won't worry until the end of the week.

Bad story. Hope you no one has to go through something like that this time.

    You're edgy? Think how I feel! :D

No harm done. I just didn't want to see another unnecessary flame war start. Too many of them as of late. I think everyone is a bit on edge.

  11. Prinz Eugen,

If you don't have anything positive to add to a thread, please ignore it. Telling people to "shut the hell up" is not called for. As it is, many in the US who preordered may not receive their copy until 9/30 and BTS is based here. Very frustrating when people half way around the world can get a copy before you can.
