Jiggles, what OS are you running? The only time I've seen the Nvidia tab missing is when you install all or part of the wrong version driver to the wrong OS.
I downloaded and installed them last night. They work fine on my machine (Athlon 1.4Ghz, Windows Me, Leadtek Geforce4 Ti 4600). They are actually a huge improvement over the 30.82 as far as reducing shimmer with FSAA (new Texture smoothing feature with 4xS FSAA works and looks great).
The FSAA "problem" with Detonator 40 series drivers has to do with Windows 2000/XP and text displays in CM:BB and CM:BO disappearing, like the scenario list. It can be solved by minimizing CM (Alt+Tab or ESC), then going back in. This should restore the missing text.

Thanks for the tip. Same here. Running Windows Me and the 40.72 beta drivers with a Ti4600. MUCH better image quality than with the 30.82 drivers to boot.Originally posted by Wally's World:Schrullenhaft:
Just to let you know that I'm running the CMBB demo with the 40.71 drivers (with Win98) with my GeForce4 MX420 card with full anti-aliasing on and it runs perfect. No problems at all. I wonder if anyone else uses the 40.71 drivers.

I saw in another post where someone experienced no trouble with the Detonator 40 (40.72 beta) drivers with Windows 98. By that, I guessing no missing text in the scenario list, etc. I downloaded and installed them on Windows Me and they also work fine here. No missing text or anything.
They also give a much better display with Geforce4 cards and FSAA. I was very disappointed with the FSAA in the 30.82 drivers and my Ti4600. Now things look just as smooth and shimmer free as my Geforce2 Ti with CM:BO.

The into wav file is number 5010 (00005010.wav to be exact).
It can be replaced by about anything you want as long as it's a CD quality WAV (16-bit Stereo, 44000kHz).
I replaced mine with "Ride of the Valkyries" since I usually get stuck with the Germans in must battles.

I have experienced this as well with both CM:BO and CM:BB It's not a problem in that it doesn't make the game crash or anything, just looks strange.
It's like a "magnet" along the edge that only picks up the lines from movement orders, targets, arcs, etc. I have experienced this my Geforce2 GTS, Geforce2 Ti and Geforce4 Ti4600. It's related to the Nvidia drivers and started happening with the 10.xx series (at least where I started to notice it).
I adjusted the image size on my monitor to stick out a bit over the edge to get cut off so I don't have to look at them any longer.

An inline V-12 engine. I knew the Germans had great technology but to have an engine be both inline and V configuration at the same time is simply amazing.Originally posted by busboy:PzKw IV- Maybach HL 120 TRM V-12 inline diesel (boy I can't spell) developing 300hp at 3,000rpm.
That source sounds very bad indeed.

Dan,
Thanks for the input and confirmation about the treebases and so on. Would have been nice but there have got to be some limits.
I like the original snow included in CM:BB. It looks better than the original CM:BO snow. It works well for snow/deep snow as well. Juju's might be a bit too bright and cause me to go snowblind (need sunglasses  ).

30.82 are the best (what I'm using with my Ti 4600).
The 40.xx series has a problem with FSAA (text disappears in the scenario list and maybe other places). You can fix the problem by minimizing CM:BB back to the desktop (Alt+TAB or ESC), then going back into CM:BB.
This problem is with Nvidia. This problem occurred with CM:BO and the earlier 10.xx series and Nvidia finally fixed it with the late 20.xx series but has apparently broke it again.

You might want to check this thread about halfway down the page. Several people have had problems with installation lockups at various points. If you are lucky (it locked up toward the end), there is a workaround posted in the above linked thread. Otherwise you will require a replacement CD.
BTS/BFC is aware of the problem and has already shipped out replacements to some people.

Another problem I've seen with Geforce4 MX cards is FSAA only works in 4x mode. One another machine with a Geforce4 MX 420 I tried setting FSAA back to 2x and no splash screen, no menu, nothing. I could hit Alt+Q to exit back to the desktop. I tried deleting the Prefs file and it still would load.
When I set FSAA back to 4x, the game loaded fine (even without deleting the Prefs file).
Anyway, if you are running a Geforce4 card, you might want to check your FSAA setting and either disable it or set it to 4x.

Vader's Jester,
Shouldn't those BMP numbers be reversed?
1470-1489 for snow/deep snow
1870-1889 for light snow
At least that is what I'm seeing by changing the parameters in the scenario editor.
I also applied Juju's treebases and brush (same BMP numbers as CM:BO) to replace the original gray blotches. Unfortunately, there are not 2 sets of treebase and brush BMPs so you have to compromise. I like the one's from Tom's Bulge mod better but they don't look right with Juju's snow.
Also might want to try some else's ice mod as well. They have the same BMP numbers also.
Treebases are 850-855
Brush is 979-984
Ice is 820-825

Subvet,
Totally agree with you. So far my favorite new feature of the game and much more realistic.
I sorta feel sorry for the crews when they are getting repeatedly nailed by large caliber weapons and the status is "Bailing Out". I've seen more than one crew loose a couple more crew memebers (or get wipded out) trying to bail out and getting hit again and again and again.
Also kudos to Matt for the new penetration sounds.

Tom,
Thank you for taking the time to update these scenarios for CM:BB. I just finished "Valley of Trouble" as the Germans (tactical victory). I forgot how much fun that scenario was. It was a nice test scenario for CM:BB. Helped me understand how the new features work. Also showed off some things I had not yet seen in the game.
I'll try "Chance Encounter" tomorrow night.
Thanks again.

Vader's Jester,
Just a suggestion but you might want to check out those CDs before you ship them to Europe. With the number of bad disks being sent, it would save some time and money for everyone involved.
Of my 3 copies, one was bad. I believe Tiger (JohnS) posted a thread yesterday about 2 of the 4 disks he sent to Europe being bad.
Hope you get your copy today.

I'm guessing overnight delivery only. Not for UPS Ground, which is how multiple copies are shipping.Originally posted by Seanachai:Actually, UPS does indeed deliver on Saturdays. However, the shipper has to specify Saturday delivery, and pay extra.
Didn't know that. Something to note next time I order something using UPS Ground to estimate my delivery time. And while most local loaders and drivers do not work on Saturdays, the UPS trans-shipping network does work on Saturdays to move packages between cities.

Steve,
Don't blame the USPS exclusively. Mine came UPS yesterday. Pre-ordered 3 copies on the first day pre-ordering was available and didn't get my copies until after some Aussies had already got theirs. I believe Gary Kump pre-ordered 5 copies and got his by UPS yesterday as well.
So is it safe to assume everyone who pre-ordered more than 2 copies should be looking for the big brown truck instead?
Just curious.

30.82
Stay away from the Detonator 40 series as Nvidia has broken FSAA with CM again. Not a major issue (I guess) but if you run CM (BO or BB) with any FSAA on, the text for the scenario lists and so on will disappear. You have to minimize CM (ESC or Alt+Tab), then restore to see the text again.

Sorry to hear you still don't have anything yet.Originally posted by Vader's Jester:What ah joke. It seems like almost everyone in the US that has ordered has got the goods. And I still have jack crap. This is getting old. Tomorrow will be the last day before UPS is LATE!!
You did order multiple copies, right?
UPS is the explaination for the delay. Unlike the USPS, they don't work or deliver on Saturdays (because they're union ). So take another travel day (or two) off and I can see where the delay comes in.
UPS Ground is usually 3-5 day. From Vermont to California is about 2500 miles or somefink. So it would take 5 days to get there by truck (they can only run 500 miles or 10 hours per day legally).
If not tomorrow, then definately Monday. Small consolation considering another weekend without.
Hang in there. It's definately worth the wait.
