  1. Like the Lord general said, looks really interesting. Perhaps one day we will be able to use substitute models or even alter basic 3D shapes (like the helmets) slightly. Nice one. Hey Oddball_E8, hows the Urban mod coming along?
  2. I should have a couple more vehicles ready quite soon including some British and german stuff. Cheers
  3. Thanks for the interest guys! I have not done much lately due to work and playing B17 II(!) but all this great new mod stuff this weekend has given me renewed enthusiasm. I did slow down work on the next version of the rural buildings after seeing the tremendous quality of PanzerT's mod but on the basis that too much choice is not a bad thing, and if there is interest I will continue work on the V2 rural buildings. I think I saw a post from Gunslinger (about 4 weeks ago?) saying he had set up his own small computer business/shop and that was where most of his energy and time was going at the moment. Thanks again for your comments and I agree Bfamily33, that poor jeep really does need a re-spray (its very high on my "urgh I can't stand looking at it any longer" hit list).
  4. Hi, I've still got a few things on the go, just finding it hard to put in the time to get them finished due to RW work. I Haven't given up on the cause of glorious mud and olive drab yet! [This message has been edited by Magua (edited 11-28-2000).]
  5. Yeah I used to play that. The thought of rolling for that flak still makes me shiver, and then there was those walking hits..... Did you ever try "Pattons Best" also by Avalon Hill Dr Brian? Similar in concept but swapping the B17 for a Sherman. Not nearly as much fun as Queen of the Skies though.
  6. Sorry Jake I did not mean to appear rude by not replying, I do read the posts when I'm on I was just keeping quiet. I'm embarrassed to say the two textures in the packs which I could not identify (3437 and its winter version) belong to the M21 (Thank you to Lucky shot for his exhaustive bmp list). The textures provided in the Hi and Lo res packs should work fine for the M21 anyway. Manx I am hoping to work on some of the infantry uniforms next but I cannot promise they will be any good! Thanks everyone.
  7. Sorry about that everyone and apologies to Kump for time he spent on them. The new versions should be with him sometime later this week. I hope you like them.
  8. Hi Kump, your autumn tree colours are way better than mine, I look forward to trying them with the rest of my stuff when your ready
  9. ooops sorry. ISP dropped me in mid post. I`m on a PC using IE.
  10. Yeah, me. I`m getting a D/L that lasts about 1sec, reports as being over 1 meg (I wish i had that speed!)but when i look theres nothing there? Must be that damn allied air interdiction.

  12. Those guns will soon be serving on my front line. Thanks to both of you.
  13. Hi Maxx, yeah that's the guy! Im interested in 18th century history, especially of colonial/Revolutionary America & Canada. I really liked the Michael Mann film of a few years back ! OGSF I'm not entirely sure how the buildings will look with Gunslingers mod. I made the buildings to fit in with the rest of my terrain which has a quite toned down colour scheme. If they are liked I'll start releasing more terrain to go with them and periodically update the textures as I find better reference material.
  14. Thanks Tom I have been using Gunslingers great mod as my standard game graphics since it was released but then I started experimenting with the trees, then the soldiers...then I had to change the grass to go with the trees...then the buildings and the skies to go with the grass.... I still use Gunslingers vehicles as I love the crisp look his mod gives some of that armor. This is all stuff I have been working on for fun (rather than a serious mod effort. I had intended to put the textures on a web site of my own so people could help their selves too what they liked, and ignore what they didn`t. This includes just about everything except vehicles so far. I didn't want to release the textures as an official mod as some of it is pretty poor, and may never get finished (by me anyway!) I have been very surprised (and pleased! thanks again for your encouragement)at the interest those screenshots generated and I just hope everyone is not disappointed when they see the rest of my stuff.
  15. Hi again IPA, Forgot to say last time we talked that I'm not far from your ancestral home (I live in Colchester). A mod manager will be great to have. I remember one for European Air War that worked around themes, so you could have a "dreary northern European winter" set, a "Normandy set", "Vosges mountains campaign" and so on. Just used to swap the relevant textures back and forth for you automatically. Be very handy for mod makers too. I'm planning a "D-Day Dodgers" Italian campaign mod using some new landscape and infantry variations (but I guess I'd better finish with the northern European stuff first). Cheers Magua
  16. Hi, thanks for your all your interest ! I hope to get the set of structures up to a usable state today (church, bridge and pavements still to do) and hopefully send them to McAuliffe sometime Sunday. However remember the textures are "work in progress" and need further refining (some don't have doors yet!). I've made them to fit in with toned down colour schemes so they may look out of place if used with the brighter grass mods. I've also been working on the other textures but the quality at present is variable (the trees being the weakest link). Cheers Magua
  17. Hi everyone, thanks for the positive remarks, it is very encouraging. I did not want to post the buildings until the rest of my terrain was useable as I think they wont mix well with other mods. But from what some of you have said about Gunslingers new mod they may work with that, in which case I'll try to finish the beta version of the building set this weekend and post them to McAuliffe (if he doesn't mind!) sometime Sunday (?). The textures are all the same Res as the originals so they do not look so effective close up (but i still think they are an improvement even at this rough stage). Thanks McAuliffe for posting the screenshots for me.
  18. Hi everyone, i have been working on loads of stuff recently (grass, trees, infantry...well just about everything but the vehicles) including buildings suitable for a rural themed map and as soon as i can figure out how to put a web page together for downloading i will start to post the stuff (i'm about 75-80% where i want to be with the textures so hopefully this will be in 3-4 weeks??. i`m reluctant to send the mods to someone elses site as really its "work in progress" done for my own enjoyment. None of its 100% finished and most likely will never be ! (its a kinda BETA version really, which i will work on further as the mood takes me and if anyone else shows much interest. If i e-mailed some screen shots to one of you could you post them here for the others to see and give me some feedback?
  19. Thanks for the report. Wish i could have made it, sounds like you had a good day. Maybe next time.....
  20. Hi, I`ve made some ruined buildings (windows/doors knocked out, walls with holes in etc) which look ok but i cannot put them up for distribution at present because they use some Panzer Elite textures. I hope to change them to original artwork soon and then when i get them and a whole load of other stuff finished (i`ve redone just about everything but the vehicles) i`ll offer them up for download. These days i spend more time playing with textures than playing the game !
  21. I'll be there if i can,too good a chance to miss out on meeting some of the collective. Cheers
  22. On second thoughts better graphics might be a very bad thing. i would never get any work done !
  23. Before the pitch fork wielding mob comes to my door let me say that i think CM is the best computer game i have ever bought. Since i received CM some weeks ago i dont think i have wanted to play anything else. Its the first computer game to actually exceed my original expectations of it!. But would anyone actually complain if the graphics were improved? I could fill the rest of the post with a graphics wish list (dynamic lighting, better infantry models/animations, more varied building models....) but these things will come with time. No CM does not need better graphics but any improvement could only enhance our play experience even further.
