  1. Didn't really care about TCP/IP, was more interested in the game tweaks/fixes (which ROCK by the way)... played my first game of TCP/IP a while ago, and MAN was it fun!!! Great Job guys! Great job on the netcode too, played GREAT on my 56k!!!
  2. ... and I thought sitting on my arse and reading a book for half of my work night was bad.
  3. I don't think you will be running any extra risk to your HD by playing with the patch (vs AI) than you would otherwise. Even though the game is supposed to run slightly slower due to debug stuff (which I don't understand) it seemed to work spectacularly well during my one and only TCP/IP game so far. EDIT: Damn you MadMatt for your "official" reply right before my inane babbling... Oh well, my advice may not have been that trust-able anyhoo, considering I'm now off to fix my car with a hammer and some duct tape... [This message has been edited by Mr. Clark (edited 11-29-2000).]
  4. YAY Wild Bill! Going hunting for the PC versions now...
  5. Bump, plus... does anyone have the Commissar on their ICQ list?
  6. Commissar, your E-Mail is no longer working for PBeM. It says it has exceeded your disk limit! Hope you get this, as it's the only way I can send you a message! (Your mail is not accepting ANYTHING) I apologize for wasting everyone elses time and forum space.
  7. YORGH! Standard buildings it is! Thanks for the info!
  8. Looking good! I grabbed the Dam mission, but have to finish a very horrific QB v.s. the AI before I give it a go. (I thought I had it won, and then the AI wiped out ALL of my HQ units with an all to clever arty strike... I have never seen so much arty falling in a scenario before, the map is almost completely destroyed!)
  9. Those look gorgeous so far! Are they Hi-Res? Being a low end user, I always have to worry...
  10. I'm glad your including DD's foliage... I love the trees and forest/slightly wooded textures there. I have a fairly low end system... how Hi-Res is this mod pack? Just wondering before I d/load it. Great idea though!
  11. Definately work on the speed and convenience enhancements over the others.
  12. Great Utility KMan!!!!! Well done and THANKS!
  13. Okay, I listened to the WAV, and I can agree that if you were camping in a war torn forest at night, that noise would certainly give you the heebies.
  14. What WAV file IS the rocket sound??? It's possible that I have simply never heard (been fired at by) enemy rockets.
  15. LOL Croda... I just now understand your joke in my thread (about Screaming Meemies) when you ask Beman to hurry up and post so the thread closes! Seriously, I have often felt the same way Beman. I did a search for my name once to finds a particular thread... and I noticed that in all the threads I had posted in... I had made the LAST post. That was awhile ago... I'm afraid to look now...
  16. Thanks all! I would love to get hold of a sound file that actually mimicked this "horrible noise" I've read so much about. As Sgt. suggested, it'd be sweet if someone out there made one for CM usage. ...and Croda, congrats on being correct! I actually got an answer correct myself a few weeks ago... it's a nice feeling! Hee hee.
  17. Thanks Bill! Same back at ya man! (what??!!! No new Thanksgiving scenario???)
  18. While reading several WWII books I've seen much written about Scremaing Meamies flying over head... making an aweful noise and such. What exactly fired screaming meamies (not sure I'm spelling that right) and are they in CM? (as accurate as CM's sounds are... I know I've never heard anything like described in the books. I hardly ever play Germans, so I've not had much chance to look. Anyway, sorry for the idiot question, and thanks for any replies!
  19. Has anyone checked out the "playset" for the figures? I've not actually seen it in store, but if you dig into the website, you'll see a pic. It's half of a bombed out/war torn house! Looks a heck of a lot more like a model than a "playset." 'Course the wife would kill if I bought it...
  20. http://www.21stcenturytoys.com/ Head over here and click on the EXTREME DETAIL (Toys R' Us exclusive) line of action figures to get a look at what everyone is talking about.
  21. Heh... I agree Coralsaw. I got a big laugh out of Steve admitting Charles does not know how to program that feature, and I also have a hefty amount of respect for them stating something like that. I wish ALL programmers/companies had that attitude. Way to go Steve and Charles! You've actually got me looking forward to trying TCP/IP.
