  1. I have the opportunity to upgrade now. I know the new engine won't be out for quite a while. But... Planning ahead... Toad
  2. What makes it worth the download? What will it do. Hard to please .... Toad
  3. I thought someone had finished one. The BO one I use is great. Anyone know where to look? I have been checking and not finding. Attached to my clipboard.. Toad
  4. I thought that what is now CMAK was going to be Early Years. However if BTS does publish an Early Years game, then CM2 would be the way to go, new engine and all. With a new engine there could be motorcycles and horses, multi turreted vehicles and more... I also like what could be an experimental aspect of the game. During this time armies were trying out a variety of organizational arrangements as the tank was trying to find its place. This would be a good 'excuse' to allow the game to be very experimental in unit organization. Waiting for the cavalry to bash their sabers on the sides of armored cars. Old Toad
  5. Clipboards are a great play aid. I couln't do without my CMBO clipboard. What about BB? Attached to my clipboard .... Toad
  6. Kevin, Have you tried playing the BO operation 21st Panzer Attacks ? The map and the flow from one battle to the next are an outstanding feature of the game. It's at the Scenario Depot In it for the long haul....... Toad
  7. Well in trying it earlier in two different test scenarios, I was given the option to preplan in one, but not in the other, and I don't know why. Does a meeting engagement, attacking, defending make any difference? I don't know why I was offered a menu choice in one scenario and not in the other. Does the type of arty make a difference. One was howitzers the other rockets. Maybe I should go back to the manual... Toad
  8. In testing different artillery pieces using an FO, I discover much to my dismay that I have to wait many turns for shells to fall. How can I speed this up and make them fall on turn 2 or 3 instead of, say, 17 or 25 ? Careful... you'll shoot your eye out! Toad
  9. It's World War I. Where's the mustard.... gas. Toad
  10. Thanks Jeff, Nice to get help from a MN guy. Yes. Two years ago and all this time CM has garnered my interest, probably 99.9 % Maybe I should forego Tac 3 and just purchase 4. What is the difference? Getting more operational.... Toad
  11. I have made a small CMBB engagement I would like someone to playtest. An Armor Skirmish (1300 pts) Easy play option vs AI or for two player. OR If you ever wanted to try Franko's Rules this would be a good one to give them a go. Tell me what you think... Toad
  12. Been CMing for the last 2 years. I also have the TAC OPS that I purchased at that time 2years ago. Have there been any upgrades/patches etc. How to get them? TacToad
  13. Lou2000. Thanks for the information. I have been out east for 3 days, so just saw your message. Actually was walking the 1st Bull Run Battlefield yesterday. Anyway. I would do a search for FRANKO's name in the BO forum. Maybe FRANKO Rules. Or skim thru the forums looking for FRANKO and email him. I use a somewhat modified version that is still true to the maxim of-- Don't use anything in the game that lets you cheat. (Cheating is defined as doing something you could not do in real life). So you could not be on camera level 3 or higher. (With some exceptions to the levels that look like maps) You could not know what damage you fire has done so detailed armor hits are turned off. You could not fly around or scoot around the battlefield, so you can only view from your frontmost unit. Ok to zoom if you have binoculars or a gunsight. There are others and I have made some modifications for the sake of sanity and playability. I would be happy to share them later. The list above is the heart of the rules. Down in the Dirt .... Toad
  14. I was laughing out loud, and reading these posts to my wife. Now however I must respond to the purring request...." My feet hurt" Later..... Toad
  15. I have one for BO that is great. Lighter color on higher elevations, darker on lower. I have not seen one for BB. Not interested in the terrain grid option. Playing a wargame not a football game ... Toad

  17. How about some raids on supply columns, first the Italians vs the Africans, then the British vs the Italians then the Germans vs the British then the Americans vs the Germans. What a lot of traversing over the same desert! What a chance to see the improvements in tank and gun technology! Sand between my toes .... Toad
  18. Oops! I meant to refer to Franko's True Combat Rules. My apologies to the Generalissimo, where ever he is. Toad
  19. My firstborn. CMBB. An Armor Skirmish (1300 pts) Easy play option vs AI or two player. OR Challenge option using Franco's Rules. I'm so new at this, I'm not even sure how to send it to you! Tadpole.... Toad
  20. I usually play scenarios, unless there is some feature that I want to try out. Then I set up a QB with it. Over and Under.... Toad
  21. Thanks for helping me discern between historical and semi. I do think it is in the details. And there will be a more 'historical' map, rather than computer generated. Grateful Toad.
