  1. In my case in depends on the scenario. If IM defending I prefer to play as the Axis. If I do play as the Allies in the defense I mainly use US or British airborne troops. In the attack I prefer the United States mixed Army and Armor. ------------------ Semper Fi.
  2. I also have a 64 meg Prophet GTS GForce 2 card. I installed the latest drivers without trouble. ------------------ Semper Fi.
  3. This is too funny. I also find myself considering Defensive options at various near-by land marks. Maybe a CM “Help” line is in order here. ------------------ Semper Fi.
  4. Well said Chupacabra. ------------------ Semper Fi.
  5. I was listing to a news program where a Former US Sub captain was taking questions. One of the more interesting comments was how this has happened to a US sub in 1920. He said they were able to blow the rear ballast tanks, and raise the sub’s aft end to the surface. At that point a hole was cut into the sub and the crew rescued. This was possible due to the relatively shallow water the sub was located in. He was speculating how the sub is 500 feet long, and they are in 350 feet of water. It is not inconceivable that this could be done with the Kursk. Grasping for straws. I pray for them all. ------------------ Semper Fi.
  6. Welcome aboard. IM glad you liked my “Hill 505” map. I intended to give the Allies limited space to maneuver. As this causes the American player to do a frontal attack. As far as changing it, I don’t mind at all. Also I would like to thank BTS for a great Map and battle editor in CM. ------------------ Semper Fi.
  7. I uploaded a scenario to "TGN's Combat mission HQ" (Hill 505). In the original version of hill 505, I did not lock the German setup positions. If you chose to play as the Allied player. The computer would setup the German positions. This would lead to a less then challenging game in most cases. My intent was to have the German setup padlocked from the start. However, I uploaded the freeset version by mistake. I apologize for any inconvenience. I have submitted V102 to correct my mistake. Still pending Approval. ------------------ Semper Fi.
  8. Combat Mission 5 "Pacific Hell". ------------------ Semper Fi.
  9. Gawd! Between the inaccurate bird songs, and now this. Ill have to try and ignore this unbelievable error on BTS’es, err… ‘is or ‘s part and Try to enjoy the game in spit of the gross mistake. ------------------ Semper Fi.
  10. Hi Sleestack. As I understand it. The time you see when you select your spotter, is an estamated time to delivary. It could be a bit sooner, but most of the time it is a bit longer. When a spotter calls for a fire mission, he is given a time to impact. It is not intended to be exact. ------------------ Semper Fi.
  11. “Military is all about old people using the young people to become more powerfull and to sleep with their GFs. Old guys don't die during war they need young guys to die for them.” -Killmore I’ll assume you're joking. But in case you're not. I am enjoying the freedoms of the United States because of the People before me. Old and Young, they suffered and many died to give me the opportunities I have today. And had they all had your mind-set, My life would have been much different then it has been. Furthermore,I am endebted to all the men and women who placed their precious lives at stake, so I can live free and unmolested by forces domestic or foreign who would take that from me. The only thing that stopped Hitler from doing this were the old and young people that believed somethings were worth dying for. 12. "The Perfect General" was my first computer based war game. I thought it was amazing. I wonder what i'll be playing in 5 years... "CM 4 Pacific Hell" perhaps? ------------------ Semper Fi.
  13. My advice would be don't join the combat arms field unless you are truly dedicated to the service. If you’re joining for college benefits then go into a technical or trade based MOS (Military Occupational Specialty). I was 0311 (Infantry). I joined because I wanted to Serve my country and be a United States Marine. The CAF will demand strict discipline, require higher levels of physical fitness, and you will spend more time on-duty without substantial pay compensation. In my experience, the people who complained and bitched the most (in combat arms) were the same ones that joined to get something from the Marines, not give. I don’t think there is anything wrong with getting something for your time in service. But if you go combat arms, be ready to give a lot, including your life. I consider my time in service to my country as a Marine to be one of the most rewarding experiences I've had to date (excluding my Family life). Good luck in whatever you do. If you do it to the best of your ability, and always strive for that next level, you won’t go wrong. ------------------ Semper Fi. 14. I have to throw "Battle Cry" into the mix. I disliked this move more then the US Navy. ------------------ Semper Fi.
  15. Thank you for the fast response. ------------------ Semper Fi.
  16. I am in the midst of a PBEM game. I am playing the United States. We are on turn 14. I received his file after turn 13. It was the movie segment. I watched it, then sent it back. He did his thing and sent the file back to me. Here’s the trouble, when I open the file to do my turn it wants the Axis player’s password. What went wrong? I’ve been playing the Amarican side, and have always been prompted for the Amarican password. I know he looked at the file I sent him, because it was renamed from 14a to 14bb. ------------------ Semper Fi.
  17. Ok, I think we need a planned group trip to Germany. Set a date, get a list of people going, and buy a new drinking stine. We might even get some decent group rates. ------------------ Semper Fi.
  18. I created a map Named Hill 212. Then I created a battle using that map. I saved a game mid battle, the default name came up as Hill 212. I used that name. Now when i go to creat another battle, I try to load my map (Hill212) and... nothing. Is there a way for me to use that map again? I can load that saved game and there it is. But I cant seem to load it for another battle? ------------------ Semper Fi.
  19. Ok, that explains it then. It did not bother me to have the extra points. But now I know why I recieved them. Up till that QB, all I had played were meeting Engagements. So I always had the points I set up in the QB. So that was my frame of mind as I set that attack QB up. Thank you for the info. ------------------ Semper Fi.
  20. Last night I set up the following QB. TYPE: Axis Combined arms, Allied Armor. FORCE: Volkssturm vs Amarican. QUALITY: Both medium. PURCHASE UNITS: Axis Computer, Allied Human. BATTLE TYPE: Attack (US). *FORCE SIZE*: 1250 points. MAP SIZE: Large. ATTACKER: Allied. HANDICAP: None. DATE: Aug 1944. TIME: Day. WAETHER: Clear. TURNS: 40. MAP: Rural/trees light/modest hills. CHOOSE SIDES: Allied. FOG OF WAR: Full. COMP EX BONUS: Normal (None). One Player. Ok, heres the trouble. when I get to the unit selection screen. It shows 2000 points every time I set this QB up. I set it to 1250 points, and I get 2000. Is this a bug? ------------------ Semper Fi.
