  1. THE RULES then, short and sweet: S) Go away. O) Go even further away. D) {***sigh***} If you’re still reading this, you’re still too close. But if you insist, PAY ATTENTION!, or go away. O) This is the Peng Challenge. Challenge someone SPECIFIC, just make sure it’s not Peng. Try a newbie SSN such as yourself, not a Knigget or an Old One. If you don’t know what a SSN, Knigget, or Old One is, go away. F) The key word being CHALLENGE, sound off like you have inherited a pair from someone other than your pet hamster. If you can’t manage this, go away. F) Do not sound off about your pair. Try to act like you have a modicum of wit, style and panache OR Half of a Brain. If you won’t keep this thought in your Half of a Brain, we will boot it to the other Half, and you will go away. !) If you have any questions at all, post absolutely NOTHING! We will get back to you at our earliest inconvenience. And go away (are you starting to see a trend here?).
  2. So how was the hangover? That whole bottle of rum you drank fix you up pretty good? I bet the flashbacks to the little scene with the gay hairdresser and the pilot comparing their piercings in the hottub really had you retching the next day. Glad I missed that part myself.
  3. We sell wood, paper, paint, finishes, and other wood products. How much more kindling do you think was really necessary?
  4. The whole outside wall. Dipsh*ts were blacktoping and started the exterior on fire right outside my office. And the whole muffler just fell off my truck on the way home for lunch. And Shary's truck blew something major this morning, there's fluid/oil all over the driveway. Sigh...
  5. FIRE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Dang place of work just caught on fire. It's out now but it's going to be a looooong day....
  6. Some had 5" guns mounted for defense against surfaced submarines. Not recommended for use against BB's (although, read about the battle off of Samar for what 5" guns can do to capital ships, it's not entirely negligible.)
  7. Sorry, what I meant was make the strength of a transport 1.
  8. Liam, you could just put the Transport defence value down as low as it will go. Bye bye gamey tactics.
  9. It's tough to do when you're still drinking beer. Good thing we ran out. Bastiges...
  10. Umm, why would Roosevelt promise Churchill to get involved before the invasion of Poland on Sept 1, 1939 when Chamberlain was Prime Minister? Churchill wasn't even in the government then. He was in Parliment.
  11. A fair enough summation, Retributar. As I recall, they were planning on 1948 for their first working atomic pile. But I'm not sure they could have made a dirty bomb. Or more to the point, why bother when you have all that nerve gas laying around?
  12. Umm, Raven, the V-1 and V-2 were two totally different technologies designed concurrently. The V-2 was far more "experimental" than the V-1 but not in any way a derivative design of the V-1. Also, the Germans were never close to a atomic bomb so the V-2 was not designed with that in mind. Their best scientists weren't even sure it was possible. Even when they heard the announcement of the bombing of Japan while sitting in a prison camp in England they thought it was a hoax. Took them a couple of days to accept it as the truth.
  13. Too old, tough, and fatty. Let me know when the Girl Scouts are having their convention.
  14. Well, the Germans might offer the Russians all of Yugoslavia, Greece and a free hand with Turkey in order to secure their back while they crush Britain. But now we're playing a very different game. Shall I dig out my old Diplomacy boardgame and we have a go?
  15. But the UK would never have accepted that. And the Germans were never going to offer that much anyway. Lets not deal in to much fantasy here. Look at the examples. Greece? Italy is at war with Britain and France from when it enters. Might as well take Greece as well there's not much Britain can do about it. Yugoslavia, same deal. I wouldn't pay MPPs for peace when I can make them by invading. Finland. Why the heck would the German player deal Finland out of it? A back door to Leningrad, some troops, and a threat to the Russian rear. Worth way more than almost anything the Russians would have to give up. Really guys, in game terms, why would anyone offer peace terms or accept them? We all know the score, this is a game of world domination. Once you're in, you're in till your opponent is crushed.
  16. Umm, sounds nice, but in a multi-player game, I doubt the UK player (or any player) is going to be willing to accept and sit and twiddle his thumbs for the rest of the game. It might be an option for playing against the AI, but I'm not sure if it's worth the time to implement.
  17. I doubt it. Once you make the DOW, you're in it. Wouldn't be much of a wargame if we all declared peace.
  18. As Axis, why on earth would I ever chose one of these two? Spain and Turkey put together aren't worth Italy. Interesting idea though.
  19. It's all an abstraction you know. Just substitute "Destroyer" for "Cruiser" and you'll be fine...
  20. Hmm, Shaw and the rest of the Minnesota Derelicts are coming over to grill tonight. Kitty, what should I serve? Chicken? Fish? Kebobs? Or should we just tie Papa Kahn to the grill by his mustache and sit back, laugh, and drink beer?
