  1. I got 'em fast. Waiting for more... Please... Many thanks for your fine work, guys. You are both favorite modders for me.
  2. Mannheim Tankboy is a known reject even in Michigan, which tells you a lot since Michigan is totally populated by rejects. Actually, any TRUE Southern Person knows that all cola soft drinks are called "Coke" even if you like Pepsi better, which I do. Grape and orange drinks used to be NeHi before it was crushed (get it?). And 7-Up still rules for Southern connaisseurs. But then y'all knew that... 3. Yes, I'm salivating at your CMAK WIP mod. Great stuff. I think I have all of your CMBB mods. Ain't it great to know somebody out there cares??
  4. God Bless You, Gautrek and MikeyD!! Your mods have ALWAYS been improvements and highly appreciated by me. I'm sure you'll find something to improve and we will all lap it up. You guys do great work!
  5. Hey thanks, Michael. The Audie Murphy book is perfect for a first person account, and I didn't know about it. I'll add it to my list. Now if I can find a larger analysis book that goes beyond Sicily..?? BTW, I have "Eisenhower's Leutenants" which is a good resource for all US fronts, but I haven't had time to read it yet. I was hoping there might be an Ambrose type of general story presentation of Italy from bottom to top. Is there such a thing available?
  6. Thanks very much for the suggestions so far! I especially appreciate the input from both Michael Dorosh and Andreas (The Uber Grog Twins), as well as from Speedy "The Ultimate Effete Aussie" who put his low-alcohol Miller Lite down long enough to type a few useless words and retrieve another hanky to wave at the passing fellows on the street... But I notice the recommendations, while all worthy, seem to focus on Brits and Canadians as the allies. Anybody have recommendations that describe the US experience? Thanks.
  7. I'm looking for one or two books on the Italian campaign that are enlightening and readable. I'm more interested in overall strategies, tactical considerations, leadership, personal experiences, and battle descriptions than a detailed list of what unit was where on a given day. I already have the official US Army greenbook accounts. I've enjoyed books by MacDonald, Toland, Keegan, and Ambrose dealing with the western front. Can you suggest a good book along those lines that focuses on Italy? Thanks for any help.
  8. That's a GREAT idea, Elvis. It would really simplify scenario choices for people who know some WWII history, but don't have grog knowledge about unit positions at a specific time and place, much less available weaponry.
  9. Hans was kind enough to send me his small battles pack by email. But I can't open or save his email attachments to use them. The attachments apparently arrived on my computer, but when I click to open or save them, all I see is gray text that doesn't respond. I can see the file names and save button, but nothing works. Can you tell me what's wrong and how to fix it? I'm using Outlook Express email in WinXP. Thanks for any help.
  10. I've been away doing other life things for several months, but I'm back to playing CMBB again. I need some specific scenario recommendations for single play against the AI, and also some PBEM. I like scenarios where the units are manageable (not too many), there's lots of shooting and action, the terrain is interesting, and I can play in one afternoon or evening if I'm playing AI. Those are the best, although I certainly know how to play a longer game if it's good enough. Lots of you have been playing CMBB for a long time while I was otherwise engaged, so I'm hoping you've some good recommendations. Going to Scenario Depot is overwhelming if I don't have some guidance. Please give me your recommendations, your reasons, and where to get the scenario. Remember, I need something I can get into quickly for a good game. Thanks a lot, Jake
  11. I've got 'em all. Thanks. Do I need to choose between dark overcast and plain overcast, or do I use both of them for different scenarios? I don't know if they are separate skies or alternative skies for an overcast scenario.
  12. I've been away for a while. Miss me?? Is this Cesspool Lite? I recognize some of the old names and the same nasty smell of soiled trousers, but somehow it all... seems... so... vapid..... But if Seanachai is in charge, that's no surprise. Does this get me to 1,000 posts after all these years?
  13. Very, very nice as usual. Your mods are always must have's for me. Thanks again for your great work.
  14. I traded emails with Dick yesterday. He sounds feisty and wild as usual. I take that as a good sign. He ain't gone yet, so let's not eulogize him till he deserves it.
  15. Dick was one of my first CMBO opponents when he entered the infamous Lawyer's Cup contest. We had a lot of fun, and he taught me that you don't need to take all the VF's if you want to win. So he won. I still hate him for that. So I just sent him a smart-a$$ email to cheer him up. He's a good man, and we need him back on the line. Cheers to Dick Reece!!
  16. Gautrek, I have all of your mods, and think they are terrific. You and Mr. Noobie have led the way in making realistic-looking mods. Personally, I don't like the winter look shown above. It doesn't look realistic to me. I prefer the look where there are bits of snow accumulated on the top, fenders, wheels, etc. The basic tank shape and coloring are still visible. There's more texture to appreciate, especially when the surroundings are white. I've downloaded mods that look like this, but I can't identify who did them right now. I hope you understand what I'm talking about. Thanks again for all your excellent work.
  17. Hey Nikke, I see from your profile that your occupation is being me: Lawyer. That job is already taken. And it doesn't pay very well either. You should find a new occupation.
  18. I agree that new skies would make a huge improvement in CMBB graphics. I hope somebody can figure it out.
  19. I bring both bump and joy by announcing that I will not be there. Have a good time!
  20. Can I use Ed's tree bases with the stock trees? I like the stock trees, but would prefer better terrain depth.
  21. Yep, Elvis and I have partied hearty a couple of times to good effect. The dueling meeting dates going on here reminds me of the trouble setting up the first meeting. Finally, we just set a date and a place. Close to 20 guys showed up. I'm best for Fridays after work.
  22. Great work, Tom. Does the less-teutonic version have the same game buttons? The pic above has none.
  23. Merry Christmas to all and to all a Good Night! Santa is bringing my kid a Nintendo Gamecube, so I'll be playing Mario Super Party tomorrow instead of CMBB. Maybe I'll do better whacking Mario than wasting you guys. Or maybe I'll just get wasted because I know how to to that best of all. Cheers, Jake
  24. Doing the right thing is always good business. More businesses should try it. I have the first edition and look forward to receiving the second. Thank you for prompt action to fix the problems.
  25. I would like a Mod Forum very much. I can't always be sure to catch them in the main forum.
