I still rather like an email list for general discussions over the Bulletin Board . This Bull.Board is one of the nicest I've used , though. If I set up an email list at onelist , would anyone follow , or would I just be talking to myself , as usual ... (do some people not like smileys ? Abrams

Murx, You mention the 7.62mm (.308 cal fur us non-metric folk )The gun is the AR10, developed by Eugene Stoner after WWII. Made it into limited production in the mid 50's . I have 2 of them babies--- SWEET !! (now to different AR10 rifles are being made today... I used to own and service full auto weapons and have played with most of these toys,other than the FG 42 . Anyone near Knob Creek , Kentucky must go to the MG shoot , or go to the Sold of Fort convention on 'Vegas ... Anyways -- back to the "_ORIGINAL_" start of this thread ... the MP/StG43-44 weapon was another example of over-engineering with machinework. For a country being pounded to pieces and running out of supplies, and also considering the poor training the last recruits were getting ... the MP40 made more sense in the last days of the Third Reich. The StG45 was the best of the light auto weapons , time ran out ... the german G3 owes its basic design to the StG45. Abrams

The person that recommended that I check out CM also suggested that Panzer Elite would be the other computer game on WWII that I need. Any other thoughts on PE ?He said it would give me a more 1 on 1 skirmish feel ... After playing the CM demo games again , I'm glad I did not buy some of the "other guys" games Thanks

As a New Groupie , what is CM2 supposed to cover ? A different theatre ? (Pacific ?) or different scale ? I think the CM model would run real nice one level down -- pltn commander and individual soldiers. Abrams

Hi all,Finally got a decent computer that can actually do more than serf and email.Played the Gold Demo 3x and just placed an order.This game is great!Played CE first as German and ended in a draw.Tried to pierce the German Bunker line and was seriously defeated.Third playing was CE as the American--had a stunning victory , only 11 Germans left , no StuGs. Only lost 2 M4s and 17 KIAs ...My M4s swept the right side of the area and routed the Germans into the big tree area which came under fire from 2 pltns of US infantry ... seems realistic fire and movement tactics work in this game as opposed to some games I've played ... cann't wait to read the manual and learn how to play properly!.
