1. Congratulations, A bit daring I'd say. Should I ever play you I'd have to remember that. And the fact that you are a willing +150% ------------------ Either he's dead or my watch has stopped
 2. BTW, my E-mail is mvie@free.fr at this time of the day. Feel free. ------------------ Either he's dead or my watch has stopped
 3.
quote:
Originally posted by Panzerdude: Here's another newbie to the PBEM world, but not to wargames. Anyone up for a game? I haven't even tried the pbem setup, but I'm sure it's very straight forward. Let me know...

I'll take whatever side and scenario you choose. Will be my first PBEM and I'm willing to try that to change from my Hotseat practice. ------------------ Either he's dead or my watch has stopped
 4.
quote:
Originally posted by Lindan: The answer to all the FAQ's (and all other questions, btw) is... 42!!

I can't remember all because it was long but I do remember that the best part was about frogs. Let's get out to find some frogs and get a good laugh about them. Boy, Douglas Adams Infected Post that one... ------------------ Either he's dead or my watch has stopped
 5. Thanks for your enthusiasm BTS. Should you need some helpful hand in the process of translating the game and/or the manual just ask. And yes Xyphorus, being born in France and having joined the Free French abroad certainly do qualify you as a Frog. ------------------ Either he's dead or my watch has stopped
 6. BTW, how many of us french in here? Enough for a serious contribution or something? ------------------ Either he's dead or my watch has stopped
 7. I also had that same frustrating level of lack of C&C in Steel 2 when those bloody BMP would receive ALL of your TOWs and you will have to fight the T80s by hand afterward... It was when I first wanted an order saying a FIRE ONLY ON which could be override by the threat assesment that CM has. But I'm just being picky because CM is perfect and I'm blaming them for all the nights BTS already owe me... ------------------ Either he's dead or my watch has stopped
 8.
quote:
Originally posted by Xavier: I would be very happy if you want to participate to Appui-Feu.

You could reach me during working hours at marcel.vie@streamserve.fr and the rest of the time at mvie@free.fr I'd be more than happy to let you use some of my spare time and to be able to cook some things. ------------------ Either he's dead or my watch has stopped
 9. Wouldn't it be sweet if either as a patch or in a further release there could be a TARGET ON included? The purpose of this addition would be to have some way to direct your unit to fire mainly on certain type of unit. Ok! I know it's "one of those" suggestion but I had a Panzerschreck firing is AT ammo on GIs. Frustrating that... ------------------ Either he's dead or my watch has stopped
 10. Magnus, Glad there is some French in that forul. I was starting to believe that I was pretty much alone. You can count me in for whatever you need in menial tasks. That is, translating, Web things, Forum and MOST OF ALL Free Frenching all wannabe contenders. A moi la Legion!! ------------------ Either he's dead or my watch has stopped
 11. I usually HIDE it on the left flank. There is some kind of wood parallel to the wall and in it you can find a small patch of open ground. If you carefully check your LOS you could almost hit anywhere. The trick is to resist the urge to shell that F****G hill since it will always call the Wrath of God unto you. Check it and you'll see that you could both have nice side shots into the Shermans and put some sense into those thick headed GIs down in the valley while they are trodding on barbwire. ------------------ Either he's dead or my watch has stopped
 12. Well Killmore if you're interrested I'll post a screen shot which is easier than a description since there's no x-y coordinates in CM which might help BTW. Fact is: Hidden Hidden Lashing at the last possible time Far from the dreaded US FOs ------------------ Either he's dead or my watch has stopped
 13.
quote:
Originally posted by Lee: I can't quite understand this obsession with reading game manuals while relieving one's self. A.) With the exception of being struck with serious illness, I don't require a 1/2 hour plus of restroom time. B.) I do not find said environment particularly pleasing or conducive to involved thought and reading about WWII tactical combat (or anything else, for that matter). The whole thing just strikes me as rather odd. No offense.

I got some clue for you... It's a certified wife-free environment. ------------------ Either he's dead or my watch has stopped
 14. I've often found that the best thing to do with it is to keep a VERY low profile. And unhide it at the latest possible time. Every time I had or had been fire upon on Turn 1 it was as good as fried. ------------------ Either he's dead or my watch has stopped
 15. DIY fishnet for self sustaining elite troops? Unless it's a "Let pool em together and have a hammock for the LT" ------------------ Either he's dead or my watch has stopped
 16. Hi all, Say, I'm french, surely that must qualify as a most common target? Is that something cultural between you yanks and brits that you should take a shoot at them? ------------------ Either he's dead or my watch has stopped
 17. Waoww!! Anti French bashing... Guess it comes fro us waiting for you to win our wars. Lets put that league on gear and wait for the french to kick asses and take names since no sweating is reaquired.
 18.
quote:
Originally posted by bighead: Are you talking abot Local area network or LAN?? That'd be real cool if CM can give a patch for that later on!!

Boy! I guess I will have to ask that one in plain french. OK, DEAL. My Scottish girl friend is here tomorrow and she will correct the posting. First: What I had in mind is a self playing game where you would have just had the opportunity to do the SETUP PHASE and play the VCR. That way you could see what is it that you are lacking when the AI is pounding you over and over. Would be like a self inflicted boot camp. Second: The TCP/IP protocol is made as such as you could either play on a LAN supporting it or online. Unless I'm wrong... ;°) ------------------ Either he's dead or my watch has stopped
 19. Hi Gila, I'm 32 from France. Welcome in here and if you're willing to try some PBEM with an older one I'll let you play my dad. THAT alone should give you a competitive edge seeing as you are ALREADY in here and he hadn't fathom that yet. ;°)
 20. Excuse my french but what I had in mind was a stand-alone Comp VS Comp. You sit in front of YOUR screen, watch the thingy rip itself apart, play it over and over and learn from it. Sure will beats pedagogy.
 21. Hi all, Been playing wargames for years and that one is by FAR the greatest of all. I even almost weeped when the forum was down because I thought BTS had been bought over by Mattel/Hasbro and was retrofitting the game to Barbie Style ROE. I'm hooking my dad on that game and he is pathetic. But he had a good idea: >>what if a Comp VS Comp option could be included for that pops of mine to sit and learn some from the AI?<<
