  1. Unit bases aren't the only things that are hard-coded. This list includes: Tracers Projectiles Grenades Satchel Charges Shaped Charges Bazookas Panzerschrecks Piats Airborne Berrets Pistols Binoculars ...and I think there may be a couple more that I'm forgetting. ------------------ "Upon my signal, unleash Hell."--General Maximus, Gladiator "Aim small, miss small."--Mel Gibson, The Patriot "I do what I likes, and I likes what I do."--Darrell Hammond (portraying Bill Clinton), SNL [This message has been edited by Maximus (edited 03-07-2001).]
  2. Dude, that is AWESOME, just looked over the detail a little bit more. That is truly top notch. Did you scan in the images are did you paint from them? ------------------ "Upon my signal, unleash Hell."--General Maximus, Gladiator "Aim small, miss small."--Mel Gibson, The Patriot "I do what I likes, and I likes what I do."--Darrell Hammond (portraying Bill Clinton), SNL
  3. DAMN! That's good! A little bit dark in areas, but that may just be the pic itself. Especially love the road wheels, those are excellent. Get that baby up somewhere quick! Or I'll take it over email at davem@shawneelink.net
  4. Insult him on the Forum and then duck. ------------------ "Upon my signal, unleash Hell."--General Maximus, Gladiator "Aim small, miss small."--Mel Gibson, The Patriot "I do what I likes, and I likes what I do."--Darrell Hammond (portraying Bill Clinton), SNL
  5. 'Sploding bridges is done about the same way as 'sploding large heavy buildings. A wooden bridge is about the equivalent of a large heavy building. A stone bridge is probably two large heavy buildings. In other words it takes many direct hits with HE to destroy a bridge. Ambushes ARE important if you want to keep your units hidden until an enemy unit gets in range of the Ambush Marker.
  6. SS Hamstertruppen that clawed and scratched his way up Gustov's.... ------------------ "Upon my signal, unleash Hell."--General Maximus, Gladiator "Aim small, miss small."--Mel Gibson, The Patriot "I do what I likes, and I likes what I do."--Darrell Hammond (portraying Bill Clinton), SNL
  7. I wasn't going to say anything, but yep you are. Anyway, to do this would be to paint all the necessary bmps transparent pink, R=254, G=0, B=254.
  8. That is an interesting question. Just how will it be to have sand on fire in "super dry" conditions as it is simply colored grass (or snow).
  9. Exactly. It's funny how it seems that just Tiger here has a chip on his shoulder. As I stated early on in this thread is that a blub of credit in a readme *was* and *is* all that was necessary. If I were to make a winterized StuG that was based on Tiger's mono-color StuG (of which I already have), do I need to go ask him for permission to release it even though I give him credit for the initial texture in the readme? I don't think so! Just as Clubfoot has said, no gaming community has ever asked for more than just a bit of textual credit in a readme on a mod. Tiger, if memory serves, you're somewhat of a young lad are you not? If so, please drop the ego trip here because it's getting annoying. If anything if someone can take someone's elses work and change it around for a slightly different effect and then still give credit to the original work, isn't the original artist getting wider exposure? Hell, Richard Tremblett's Velvet grass has undergone several variations and I doubt that anybody has ever asked him for permission to post it. Hell we all know it's Richard's original work. So I stand by what I said originally. As long as you give credit to the original artist in your readme, then there should be no problem, unless you are on an ego trip as Tiger apparently is on now. ------------------ "Upon my signal, unleash Hell."--General Maximus, Gladiator "Aim small, miss small."--Mel Gibson, The Patriot "I do what I likes, and I likes what I do."--Darrell Hammond (portraying Bill Clinton), SNL
  10. If I don't have a mod loaded for something then that mod doesn't exist. So I'm guessing about Everything in CM. ------------------ "Upon my signal, unleash Hell."--General Maximus, Gladiator "Aim small, miss small."--Mel Gibson, The Patriot "I do what I likes, and I likes what I do."--Darrell Hammond (portraying Bill Clinton), SNL
  11. Well so did BTS, so to speak. Remember they made every original texture with the exception of CCJ's M18. As long as you give credit to the artist who made the mod, there is NO problem. Just like Michael has said, this is all non-profit stuff. So to ask permission to modify free public domain stuff is redundant. If someone wants to modify my stuff to make it better or whatnot, then fine. Hell, I'll probably use it myself.
  12. Yeah, I've noticed too. Strange though that it's after the final patch.
  13. Yep that's it. Duh! {Slaps forehead}
  14. I can't recall what it stands for exactly at the moment, but what it is is that it's artillery that will detonate in the air. I think it stands for Variable "something". But I could be wrong.
  15. "Merry Xmas at Merriville" or something like that. Forgot what it was called exactly. I think it was one of the original scenarios.
  16. Why not use a dedicated email account?. Why bother with those ****ty free ones?
  17. Well how is that any different than modding the original BTS textures. I don't recall having to ask BTS's permission to mod their textures. As long as you give credit to the author from which mod you have made yours from, then there should be no problem.
  18. Well OK, my whole point to this thread was that the Waffen SS got a bad rap due to a small percentage of their members whether they were an actually part of the Allgemiene or not. The common oridnary SS soldier was just following orders from their superiors.
  19. Way to contradict yourself there. You started out saying that "no nation's behavior excuses another" and then you go on to say that "the (Allied) atrocities are irrelevant when discussing the Waffen SS's." Gee, so you are excusing the Allies' attrocities.
  20. Hey contrare monfrare, I am not arguing with anybody. I mearely stated what I heard on the program and then looked some information up on the internet and provided it and then gave a synapsis of what the information said. As for these other sources, what makes them accurate? I have no doubts that the holocaust did happen, but that doesn't mean that that sort of behavior was limited to the SS of Germany. OK, so what if there was a cycle between Waffen SS wounded and Allgemeine SS guards and vice versa. What I don't understand why there is such hatred towards the SS when many other nations had their own dark groups that did the same thing. Is it because Germany ended up losing and now the SS are the scapegoats for these atrocities? ------------------ "Upon my signal, unleash Hell."--General Maximus, Gladiator "Aim small, miss small."--Mel Gibson, The Patriot "I do what I likes, and I likes what I do."--Darrell Hammond (portraying Bill Clinton), SNL
  21. OK, granted the horrible atrocities committed in the concentration camps, what makes other such concentration camps around the world any less harsh? What about the American camps for Japanese-Americans caught in the middle of a tense situation? These camps were created for the very same reason that the Jewish concentration camps were in Europe. And that was racism. Only the US camps didn't have furnaces.
  22. Thanks, at least one person has an open mind. Yes it is correct that the SS troops got first crack at the newest weapons, such as tanks and small arms such as the MP-44s.
  23. Oh so in SPR when the Americans had reach the top of the rocks on Omaha and those two guys shot the surrendering german troops, there was nothing wrong with that?
  24. And the Russians didn't commit any atrocities either? Gimme a break.
