I understand that, but if you want a subset of your site on my server, I have an account set up for you. -
COMBAT MISSIONS: Situation Report
stodge replied to Manx_CM's topic in Combat Mission Archive #3 (2001)
Again, I'll offer some disk space, although I would think only for part of the site and not everything. I'd like to help where I can; it's a shame you're having problems. Mail me at mike@stodge.net if you're interested. [This message has been edited by stodge (edited 03-05-2001).] -
Let me know if you fill that one up as well! Though you could just keep getting more and more accounts there.

No problem, I can give you 100Mb if you want. Mail me at mike@stodge.net with details of what you want. cheers

I run a small webserver, which is running through ADSL from my apartment. I'd like to offer some free webspace to people who need somewhere to host small websites for CM, whether that includes mods and scenarios or not. I wasn't able to help Manx with his search for a new home for his site, simply because the bandwidth he needed was way beyond what I could provide. I pay for my site, and it doesnt make me money, nor is that my intention! Currently, there is about 4Gb of free space left. I can provide html, PHP, MySQL access and cgi scripting. I use a script to allow users to manage their files, but it only lets you upload one file at a time so I'm looking to replace it. If need be, I can also provide a free email address for users. I don't provide ftp access or telnet or SSH login for security reasons. I may provide ftp access soon, although I need to make a slight configuration change to the site first. If anyone is interested, then please feel free to mail me at mike@stodge.net. The site is www.stodge.net. Cheers Mike

I believe him; you'd be surprised how downloads add up. I host a site for a friend, who writes small free games for fun. Take a look at my site, and check all the stats: http://www.stodge.net -

Its a shame we couldnt use some kind of distributed filesystem - like freenet or napster, purely for CM related files. -

I would offer, but Im not sure I could support an extra 20Gb/month through my ADSL. -

Wow! I'm serving approx 7 to 8Gb per month and I thought I was doing well for a free site!! -
Where in Cleveland, UK? I'm originally from Guisborough, now in Ottawa, Canada.

A question for all 3rd party mod users.
stodge replied to Clubfoot's topic in Combat Mission Archive #3 (2001)
I just unzip into the bmp/wav directory and overwrite without backing anything up. I'd prefer to use a Mod Manager, but I dont like the one that exists. It cant handle a large number of mods, and I dont like the interface. It doesnt seem to remember my CM exe location. -
Maybe they could release a patch for CM that adds a screenshot button to the UI, that saves the screen into a jpg. Or a key combination.
-
I generally lurk here because I don't get to play CM that often, and I'm not talented enough in wargaming to contribute towards tactics, hints and tips etc.... So I read and learn.

Your Favorite Scenarios - can I have them?
stodge replied to karch's topic in Combat Mission Archive #3 (2001)
I've got a 440Mb iso of scenarios and (Win) mods if anyone is brave enough!! -
Ok, I'll try that. Thanks.
-
When I try to exit the Mod Manager by clicking the Windows close button (x), I get the error: "List index out of bounds (-1)". Thanks

CMC1 members and WWII buffs read this!

I've also set up a CM forum, but it seems pointless, as Battlefront's site already provides this. Anyway, here's mine, and while you're there, check out the rest of the site! http://www.stodge.net/forum/viewforum.php?forum=18 -
Guys do MODS make a big difference?
stodge replied to IDF's topic in Combat Mission Archive #3 (2001)
I was thinking of making an ISO image of all available MODS and making it available for download. -

Does anyone provide a download of all of the mods at the same time in one zip file?
