  1. No, you may not. You will call her Lady Emma, and that only with her permission. I will pay any Australian $100 U.S. who will go to AussieJeff's house, and take a 12 pound sledge to his computer until we never, ever have to look at that goddamn pseudo-Libyan landscape again in a screenshot.
  2. Now listen up, you... Good God, Mace. Why are you naked? Again.
  3. Not even another Finn would be foolish enought to turn his back to a Finn.
  4. Why are you lying there in all that broken glass? My God, lad, you're covered in blood! Wait a minute. No you're not. You're covered in cheap red wine. I see what's happened. The gentle and noble Ladies of the Pool came by to demurely sip wine, and you burst in here and created a horror! Were the Australians involved? What am I saying, of course the Australians were involved! Those poor, gentle, feminine souls – what? No, not the goddamn Australians, you drunken little sot, the Ladies of the Pool – trying to bring a little class and joie de vivre to this pit of darkness, and then having you lead a gang of piss drunk Aussie roughnecks in here. MACE! You got some 'splainin' to do!
  5. I did a quick battle just now with the computer picking everything - I had to assault across open, flat ground with conscript Finns. Let's just say I'm not buying into the uberFinn mythos at the moment...</font>
  6. Thanks, moosehead. Your lot fell directly on my opponents advance! Gotta love this new 'virtual dimension' map feature...
  7. SCUNTHORPE, SCUNTHORPE, SCUNTHORPE, OI, OI, OI! Man, that just reeks. How can you lot do any bloody cheers? What, was that city given the last name in Britain after all the other burroughs chose?
  8. Roight, then, I'm here! Emma! Persephone? Now what the hell, email said wine party in the ... Dear God, what happened to this place?!
  9. Honestly, I have no idea. Can anyone understand this guy??</font>
  10. I have seen this behaviour even in CMBO, and have also noticed it in CMBB. Tanks tend to try with HE on light vehicles before using up AP and such. Often HE can indeed knock out these vehicles. I believe BFC has gone to some effort to model a more 'real world' approach to ammo use. You and I, for example, may know that the battle is only X minutes long, or that most if not all AFVs in a given battle have been knocked out, but the crew would not know that, and so tend to try and preserve ammo they will need if something more disturbing than an armoured car shows up. I've also found that HE is pretty likely to make an AC crew decide to be elsewhere. I've had an HE hit on a 'regular' Russian AC (whose actual behaviour was 'green' because of the time period), whose AC took a hit from HE. The 'detailed gun hit' stated it as an upper hull hit, no serious damage, but the crew instantly bailed and the vehicle was listed as 'knocked out'.
  11. Ewwww. I didn't realize Texas was quite that Southern...
  12. Oh, yes. Although this is much more likely if infantry is close to the edge. If they're not, they tend to run back towards their own lines, and then hide. If they come under constant fire, or you actively pursue them, they will retreat right off the map. Both tanks and infantry seem to prefer to withdrawing from all contact without necessarily leaving the map, but if the edge is close by, or if you keep poking them with the sharp end of the stick, they will retreat off the map. This was less likely for AFVs in CMBO, but it still sometimes occured. And if they leave, they don't come back.
  13. Whoa! That post went away big time when I tried to edit. Interesting freeze up that time. In any case, might this not make CDV somewhat nervous about seeming to 'get around' the restrictions of the German Software Review Board, bringing the whole arrangement under 'prepared to be irritated' scrutiny? Also, I can't help but feel that providing a downloadable .exe of the game is just asking for massive pirating. Although this does seem to get around some of the issues, I'm not sure that both BFC and CDV wouldn't have serious concerns about such a 'solution'.

  15. Er, you have noticed that in CMBB, as opposed to CMBO, tanks now model 'morale'? I've had several tanks in CMBB that became broken or routed and immediately withdrew from the board. I have also seen tanks even in CMBO that were taking heavy fire retreat off a map edge if they were very close, or retreat on purpose if they had gun damage.
  16. Was it thrown by a Finn? It could have been a toaster oven. Finns can knock out a tank with anything...
  17. Argh! You're right. After thinking it over, they do only make Saturday delivery with Nex Day. And you would now seem to know more about Unions than I do about shipping (or at least remember after being out of it for several years). I stand quite corrected!
  18. Ha! Saved by the edit, Panzer Leader! You now actually get troops with ammunition. But I still despise the lad you've championed, although I've never even seen the program.
  19. Panzer Leader, you addled lackwit--can't you see that the zero-dimensional, ham-handed, spectacularly-untalented buffoon that you champion is no more than the "Poochie" of the Itchy and Itchier Show dynamic that is Gilmore Girls? No, of course you can't--that would require you to possess something approximating a clue. While I admire that you want to pair Rory up with a shiftless dullard who treats her like crap, chips away at her ties to family, friends and community and is trying to undermine her moral center, it doesn't excuse the fact that he's a colorless simpleton on a par with, well, you.</font>
  20. I know! We've all been taunting Berli unmercifully about it. Sometimes I call him up just to read him particularly choice passages, then laugh and hang up.
  21. You know, I never thought about this... My God, I am an American! Er, I guess now this is where I should say something on the order of 'serves you right for being some nasty foreigner'. But my heart's just not in it. I withdraw any objection I've ever had for remapping the keys concept, but I still demand that ianc never be given his beloved roster. Out of curiosity, when you foreign chaps pull up the pop up menus, I imagine you also see 'A' besides vorruecken, and such, right? I'd imagine the interface would have to be modified so that the pop up menus reflect the change. I wonder if this would complicate things, or if it's no big deal to execute...
