2.
quote:
Originally posted by Joe Shaw: Sorry Pat, I thought I made it clear that I HAVE an updated Norton package and that Norton did pick it up. I too am surprised that it didn't pick it up upon receipt but only when I tried to respond to the message. I'm assuming that since the virus was part of the attachment and not part of the email and that's why it showed up where it did, i.e. in the Temp directory. Norton did allow me to delete the infected files. Of course I immediately informed all of my opponents that the problem showed up. Joe

Joe, I'm pretty sure the Kak Worm only attaches itself to Outlook express e-mail files, the minute you receive the e-mail you're infected.I think a critical Windows update takes care of it Dick Dick
 3.
quote:
Originally posted by dirkd1976: Dick, I was having the same problem, but it was caused by a theme with a special pointer for windows. If you have a theme on, dissable it, or dissable the theme pointer and it should go away. I did for me!! Good luck!!

Thanks Dirk, I'll check that out, bet that's it,much obliged !
 4.
quote:
Originally posted by kverdon: Tiger, You got it straight, CM and 4xFSAA is fantastic. The V5 5500 is one of the best improvements I've put into my system. (the other was the 19" Samsung 950p monitor <G>) Kevin

I agree, I just bought one myself[voodoo 5500].Mine has one problem with CM, the mouse drags a portion of the prior screen with it to new screen while in the main interface? Does yours do this as well? Dick
 5. [Dick, Umm, I don't think Jochen wanted to do a "rescue scenario". I think he wanted to be the SS "shooting party".
 6. Bighead, I thought I saw a post from you a few days ago, regrading you owning a VooDoo5500 vid card? I just bought one and it works great, but I get these mouse trails when moving from one main screen to the next, little squares of previous screen that syay behind, do you? Works fine within the game, just the menu and editor where I have a bit of trouble, likewise for you or no? Dick
 7. Hey Peiper, let's hope this is our LAST one, my poor ol' ears can't take another divorce proceeding
 8. Ahhhhh Grasshopper Mark IV speak with great wisdom-he knows the enemy well, remember we also have to sleep with the enemy-best to bribe them as Mark IV suggests.Take it from an elite veteran of the marriage wars I am on my 4th one
 9. Thanks Andreas, for clearing Praetorian up on this I think perhaps he should study history a bit more thoroughly before making grand pronouncements So far the only thing proved that I can see is an apparent lack of historical knowledge Only an observation on my part, not a flame, I have 2 elbows as well
 10. A good idea. Here's an alternative that works almost as well.Select the vehicle and hit enter,at the bottom of the info screen passengers will be listed.I only tell you this in case you were unaware of it. Dick
 11. While choosing units, as you place the mouse pointer on each unit, look in the lower left corner of the screen, there you'll find some unit info, like amount of ammo, type of gun, etc.The same applies to all units in CM.Hope this helps. Dick
 12.
quote:
Originally posted by SS Peiper: Guys if you like Ham and Jam give Hill 140 by Dick Reece a go. One of the best scenario's I have played SS Peiper

Thanks for the thumbs up

 15.
quote:
Originally posted by Michael emrys: I DLed and began a playing of this battle yesterday, and am enjoying it quite a lot. It looks like an interesting situation on a particularly well-thought out and attractive map. I don't want to give away anything by describing how it plays, but I will say that I am finding it good practice in moving medium-sized forces into contact. Michael

Thanks Mike,I appreciate the input.Let me know how it goes and if you have any ideas for improvement of it as well Much appreciated
 16. There is a fog table emulation setting with the viper 2 under D3D button, and then from there the advanced or options button below. Can't tell you for sure where it's at,I'm not at home. Dick

 22. Hello This is to let you know, anyone who needs a place to post there latest creation,is free to do so at the Rugged Defense Website: http://home.wanadoo.nl/edwin.vos/cm/scen.html To post your creation, simply mail it to Ed Vos at:Edwin.Vos@wanadoo.nl or me,Dick Reece, at: warmeister@inetone.net We guarantee your scenario will be posted. There is no criteria the scenario must meet in order to be posted. In addition,to avoid the appearance of bias towards our own scenarios, the RD site will not rank the scenarios. However, there is now a place [as soon as it's finished] where you,the bloodthirsty players can rank the scenarios/operations, as you see fit. Here's how the ranking,a point system, works. Conscript-0 points Green-1 point Regular-2 points Veteran-3 points Crack-4 points Elite-5 points Simple and easy to remember, because it's inherent in the game's "ranking" system as well .Keep in mind when ranking thse scenarios, the following factors: 1.Type of Battle (Armour, Infantry, Mixed) 2.Conditions (Day, Night, Wet, Foggy, Dry etc) 3.Complexity (Simple, Moderate, Complex) 4. Map Size (Small, Medium, Large) 5. Size of Forces (Small, Medium, Large) Also the map should be included in your rating decision,as well as playability and balance. If it's a historical scenario, don't forget that some things must be sacrificed and/or added to an historical scenario to give it playability and balance.A gross error in design, such as leaving the Pegasus Bridge scenario set at daytime, instead of night should be taken into account when ranking the scenario. Before ranking these,if you spot a terrible error,it would be doing the designer an injustice not to notify him privately first,so that he has the opportunity to correct the error, before you .So,before you burn his scenario at the stake with a Conscript rating contact him privately concerning the errors you've spotted.Happy hunting guys, and send those grand designs to us here at Rugged Defense ,we are grateful and anxious to be your host for scenario designs. Here's to a grand victory Dick and Ed of Rugged Defense Http://home.wanadoo.nl/edwin.vos
