  1. Okay, guys, I added a few more details. I hope that helps. Also, Scipio has been chatting with somebody from the BFC gang. Find out at CMHQ who it is what he had to say.
  2. Lee, I was waiting for you to ask. BFC = there is an announcement here at Battlefront.com ---> = follow the link to... CMHQ = there is an announcement at Combat Mission HQ B&T = there is an announcement at Boots & Tracks CMO = there is an announcement at CM Outpost I was just checking to see how few details were actually needed to get the point across. Apparently, the minimum is not enough.
  3. Gary Kump is getting things organized for the CMBO swan song. Find out at CMHQ what he's doing. [ July 24, 2002, 05:16 PM: Message edited by: SuperTed ]
  4. AOM, The distance to the HQ matters for determining supply level. Also, the radius is five hexes. Yes. Also, their morale bonus is applied to units under their command during combat. Conversely, the performance of units under their command in combat affects the HQ's morale bonus. Theses should help: Readiness = (supply + strength + command rating + combat morale bonus) / 3 Multiplier = readiness / 10 Attacker Losses = defender_multiplier * (defend_type_value + attacker_experience / 2) - attacker_multiplier * attacker_experience / 2 Defender Losses = attacker_multiplier * (attack_type_value + attacker_experience / 2) - (defender_multiplier * (defender_experience / 2 + defender_entrenchment + defense_bonuses)) Both.
  5. Remember gorski, they are all working on that secret project... A little bird told me they are adding night and day turns, with nice sun-rise and sunset effects... for a two level effect, and a path running down the middle... a path path!! Aloid</font>

  7. The Boots& Tracks team follow their latest AAR effort with the scenario in question. Swing over to CMHQ to get the details. [ July 24, 2002, 05:15 PM: Message edited by: SuperTed ]
  8. Well, you've all read the AAR for "Training Battle #1." So, c'mon over and get the scenario so you can play it yourself. It's a blast!
  9. Before we jump on C18's comments too quickly, maybe we should scrutinize the topic line of this thread. It says "HAHA your a funny guy." Okay, there are a couple possible ways to read this. First, let's assume the "a" is just a typo. If that is the case, it would read "HAHA your funny guy." Now, I would take that kind of comment to be along the lines of signing a letter with "Your Friend..." or something similar. So, following this line of reasoning, C18 may actually have been kidding all along and we just didn't comprehend the subtlety of his humor. The other way to read the topic line is to assume he meant to say "HAHA you're a funny guy." This would mean that "your" was just a typo (unlikely, based on the number of keystrokes and the positions of the keys) or C18 does not know how to use contractions to get from "you are" to "you're." I am guessing the latter example is the correct one. Take it for what it's worth, but inability to grasp the fundamentals of English is troubling for somebody who lists their occupation as a "student." How does this apply to his argument? Well, it doesn't! I just find it curious that "your" (a word that indicates possession) has replaced "you're" (a contraction that indicates a state of being) for far too many people. Thanks. I feel better now. [ July 23, 2002, 11:49 PM: Message edited by: SuperTed ]
  10. Stop by CMHQ to find out who Hetzer is and what he does...
  11. Chris, Thanks. Even if the Newbies aren't posting them, I am.
  12. Dale, My apologies. I assumed the demo used an installer. Based on your response, I am guessing it did not. If that is the case, it should be fine to just delete the entire beta folder.
  13. PL, See my responses to Straha above. That should answer your questions.

  15. Straha, That never happens in SC, no matter what settings you use. The combat calculations are always done according to the same formulae.

  17. Straha, There are no difficulty settings that allow the AI to cheat. Changing the Experience Bonus is obviuos and changing the Difficulty affects the amount of MPPs awarded via plundering, chances of Free French units, Siberian transfer, and so on. The game mechanics are the same for all settings.

  19. Dale, It is best to uninstall it via the Control Panel folder.
  20. PL, If you go here, you can read this: "...Each research type has a maximum level of 5 and a maximum number of 5 research points that can be put against it. At the beginning of each turn, each research point has a 5% chance of returning the next level of research (so 5 research points in anti-tank research will give you a 25% chance per turn of getting the next level), so the more research points put against a particular type of research, the better the chances of achieving the next level..."
