  1. Perhaps there was a knot in the wire when you tried it, it's ok now.

  4. Columbus When it's finished (Beta) I'll send it. Gary Thx for the email, I'll send one soon (ish) when its been ironed a little more.
  5. Take a look at http://www.geocities.com/mikekh123/mod_manager.html I started this way back and left it 80% finished. I work as a programmer and often I don't want to program in my spare time. CMBB rekindled my interest and now its almost finished (!!). The interface has changed a little from the pics on the website. It will do most things that you'd need including playing zipped wav files and allowing you to edit zipped wav and bmp files without unzipping them. It also keeps a simple log of what changes are made and when. It will work equally well with CMBB and CMMO - you 'just' have to create Object definition files for it. It's written in Java and if you want to use it you will need JRE1.4 or later. In theory it will run on the Mac however it's never been tested on a Mac and I'm sure it will crash and burn the first time, but that can be fixed. If anyone is interested I hope to get a Beta release soon ... (3-4 days) (Ignore the email address on the web page - its wrong and out of date.) Mike
  6. Kilo India Alpha - if you are talking about actually doing some programming for someone with some ideas....I am working on some "campaign" rules that would be very much aided by someone with a knowledge of "C"...I bought a book on C++ and a compiler, but I think teaching myself in a matter of weeks was a bit unrealistic (at least, with the crappy software and manual I got - can't expect miracles for 40 bucks, anyway....) Are you looking for a programming project to work on....or just looking for ideas out of curiousity?</font>
  7. You can use the DirectX API from within VB but you'd probably loose the edge in terms of speed if you tried 3D graphics.

  9. Could someone please tell me where I can find a list of which bitmaps correspond to CM objects? Many thanks
  10. ... for utility software to make the CM experience even more rewarding! For example an email manager with functions specific to CM. any others...
  11. Hello, This may be useful especially for large maps. Essentially how about 'bookmarks' for the camera position. For example I'd move the camera to a certain point, rotate my viewpoint as desired, select map view scale; then using some key combination eg ctrl+alt+(a digit) I'd 'save' that setting (using a single digit I'd have up to 10 'bookmarks'). Later in the battle I could press say ctrl+shift+(a digit) to take me back to the stored location and my view settings would be as I originally created them. Perhaps these 'bookmarks' need not be restricted to a fixed point but could be allocated to a unit. Anyway just a thought. Thanks Mike
  12. That phrase, '... already', such an annnoying 'Americanism'.
  13. Yes! A big thanks to BFC, you've made me, a 43 year old kid, very happy. I don't know but my eldest son,3 years and 4 months, may be your youngest fan, he regularly asks 'Can we look at the tanks again daddy?' Mike
  14. Could anyone who now owns CMBB please tell me if there is a definitive list of which bitmaps are used for each individual object in the game. (This info may well be in a text file somewhere on the CD) Thx Mike
  15. I pre-ordered from a UK game site, don't have details here but look for my name in recent posts and you'll find it. Cost £29 + p.p
  16. ...or have a friend who does. I'd guess that US forces overseas count as US postal addresses in the same fashion as BFPO count as UK addresses for UK postal services
  17. Try this place http://www.game.uk.com/search.asp?search_text=combat+mission&x=56&y=12
