  1. Ahh, a brief Tome update for the unwashed masses.

    VS-win

    Croda-loss

    Kitty-win

    Berli-loss

    Berli-win

    GiTom-loss

    OGSF-win

    Seanachai-loss

    Lorak-win

    Germanboy-loss

I guess I could use this space to gloat over my victory... but the scenario was so lopsided it would be pointless.

Oh and how I revel in the joy at observing the hell that Kitty has unleashed on the unwashed and unprepared masses.

  3. Tome update:

    Crisl-win

    Lawdog-loss

    Game updates:

Moriarty... his men decided to crowd a house in the deep night fog... my FT decided he wanted Bar-B-Que for dinner.

Germanboy... Game is about over, Littered Allied AFV's, and my german AT guns are all over the place. Will he exit enough units to rescue the para's? Only time will tell.

Iskander... Pool table map, little cover, he is pouring smoke everywhere. He must be on of Berli's love children.

GiTom... Shooting has just started to heat up in this one. Too close to give odds, but I'm sure I can still manage a loss.

Hakko...His men seemed to have stopped moving and have sat down for a cuppa.

A couple of other games going, but none worth the pools notice or time.

Rest assured you are not alone, I'm just afraid the rest of them have made a stop at the Cesspool, or perhaps the Peng thread. wink.gif

Bah.... We see all...we know all.. (at least we like to think so wink.gif)

So sit down, take in the view and belly up for another Guinness. Or if you need some R&R come over to our side of the hill (we were smart enough to set up on the reverse slope) and enjoy or new Officers club and enjoy the live bands and gaming tables or if your a junior the enlisted club. (I hear the enlisted club might even have electricity by the time CM2 roles out).

    Peng-loss

    Seanachai,

I am disrespecting you? My god man! That is almost a compliment in the pool. Sadly It is true that Several of you have challenged me to games as of late. (Yes, I still owe the Bard a beating). I've had several games outside of the pool pop-up lately and as I get some of those resolved, I be happy to wing some death your way.

  9. Jason, I understand your point about the AI needing the flags to move on. But for H2H games it really adds a lot to the battle.

Also in operations There aren't any flags. So I guess it could be tried as the AI defending with no flags. As playing the AI as defense is the best option anyway.

It was just an idea I was throwing out. But if you have a third party design maps for some of your games with other people... have them make a nice ME with no flags. I think you'll enjoy it.

  10. First: I think Jshandorf has a point.

Second :For Cavscouts uber german player ego. I'm sure we would want it modeled if a churchhill ran into a kubelwagon too. But Jeep is easy to use.

Third: Having been in convoys at night. I can assure you that wrecks happen, and guess what!? they knew people were in front and behind them. Hitting things in bad visibilty is just natural. I would like one of you to go out during the next night in heavy fog. and drive around with no headlights. (hint the euopean country side didn't have steet lamps.

Forth: I think the jeep/wagon being abandoned or even a half-track should be a possibility. NOT a given. Maybe have it do a bog/immobilized check like a tank in mud or damp ground.

    Just my .02

  11. Since there are some designers here. I thought I'd throw out some of my experiences.

First I agree that a 100% exit demand is unrealistic. Designers should give the attacker some fodder, knowing that the 100% is impossible.

    Second,

Why are not more people designing scenarios with no flags? I have PBEM's about three like this so far. These have to be designed more from a meeting engagment. But this adds a hell of a lot to the game.

It makes both players play the terrain and each other. Not worry about VL's or some other arbitary location. So in these games, with a smal village or two, some hills ect... You have no push to head to a location. so forces tend to meet like they would have historically.

    Just a thought.

  13. Hey that lens effect looks really good.

Any Idea when you might provide a link to the full size version and not the thumbnail?

The tumbnail just doesn't look good stretched.

**edited because I am an idiot. Didn't read where the wall paper was with the splash screen**

    Thanks
