Team Tank Rumble AAR Now Available!
Otto Mekanik replied to Gordon's topic in Combat Mission Archive #3 (2001)
Gordon, Great work!! it seems so dramatic when you turned it into an AAR. Thank God for "Fog of War"! If I had known that the entrie British force was coming through that wheat field I would have shaken like a cold puppy and wet myself. Plus, I would never have hunted forward out of that depression a second time. Otto -
Extreme weirdness....what happened?
Otto Mekanik replied to Otto Mekanik's topic in Combat Mission Archive #3 (2001)
hal9000, Good idea but the exit zone was right there on the edge, I had just turned it off to make sure. Also, I went back a few turns to make sure the vehicles had exited the map and they did. Otto -

russellmz, Ahhh.. I see. But have you played this scenario "Nachut"?..... with all the vehicle carnage and allied bombers coming out of my wazzoo and 20 clowns jumping out of PSW's I didn't even think of counting Seriously, its a great scenario with lots of action and vehicles being scattered everywhere. I have played it twice and managed only a draw both times. Otto [ 05-08-2001: Message edited by: Otto Mekanik ] -
Extreme weirdness....what happened?
Otto Mekanik replied to Otto Mekanik's topic in Combat Mission Archive #3 (2001)
Ellros , The AAR doesn't mention successful units "exited", unless there is a way to find out and I'm not aware of it. Babra, If it was the 12th SS Panzerklownische I sure wish they would have sent me Elite SS panzerschreks rather than broken crew members....just my luck -
Extreme weirdness....what happened?
Otto Mekanik replied to Otto Mekanik's topic in Combat Mission Archive #3 (2001)
Nope, I was the Germans. The AI was the allies. I am certain that there was nothing at the point of impact. And sorry to all you MOD makers, I still have the original texutures. Otto [ 05-08-2001: Message edited by: Otto Mekanik ] -
Very funny thing happened while playing the scenario "Nachut" designed by Berkut. (Great scenario btw) The vehicle textures were on, I'm not trying to play any tricks this really happenend. Goal was to exit units off the edge of the map, here is a photo of the exit road: Now an allied bomber scores a hit the "Exit" Road, here is the photo: Nothing was visible then all these crew members pop up after the explosion: One turn later the mysterious crew members seem to multiply or reproduce...those pesky German freaks of nature. Each of the crew members was from Vehicle-7 which was a PSW. Total crew members adds up to about 20??? That PSW was exited off the board several turns before, any ideas what happened?? Otto

Gas warfare exists in CM!!
Otto Mekanik replied to Otto Mekanik's topic in Combat Mission Archive #3 (2001)
No I'm not being tricky it was real, the vehicle textures were on. It drove me crazy cause I had to finish the game before I could see what I took out with my lucky mortars. It turned out to only be a half track but it made for a funny image. Scipio, you are making fun of the last CM non-mod purists This won't be a very popular statement but I don't understand all the fuss with mods???? They don't change the strategy any and my Shermans burn just as easily and my troops die fine on the original grass and texutres.... Oh well, guess I 'm weird. Otto -
I was playing a quick battle as the Americans. After my 81mm mortars fired several rounds the Germans retaliated with gas warfare..... I laughed at their effort but then my eyes began to water and I started to cry

how to discipline O/T post...
Otto Mekanik replied to Otto Mekanik's topic in Combat Mission Archive #3 (2001)
Shameless O/T bump..... I was expecting some creative solutions, guess I didn't ruffle any feathers? -
Ok, I'm joking here so you can put the cap back on your flamethrowers And let me be the first to point out the irony that this itself is an O/T post. It seems that O/T posters come in 2 varieties: 1) New person to the CM Forum who should be forgiven once or twice. 2) Blatant post trying to receive the "Padlock" My feeble mind suggestions these possible actions towards Posters #2: A) Have BTS remotely activate this persons "AI Cheat Mode" on their CD (we know you can do this BTS). Increasing the cheat modify to correspond with how spitefull the moderators are feeling that day. Start a CM Forum posse and everybody send this O/T poster a 1-5 MB email attachement. If they only have a modem their email will be tied up for weeks. C) If option B is tried and they have DSL or Cable then the "Posse" will find all the autosubscription sites and enter this persons email. Appropriate sites would be ballon and flower updates, Oxygen, and Rosie O'donnell daily email update..... D) Activate the "Local CM Posse" in this persons city. Find out their schedule and drive in front of them with your left turn blinker on. Any other suggestions? Otto Mekanik ps, I have a cable modem and already belong to all the "sissy" email updates so I am immune to any retaliation ... *diabolical laugh* [ 04-27-2001: Message edited by: Otto Mekanik ]

Otto Mekanik replied to Buckeye's topic in Combat Mission Archive #4 (2002)
Buckeye, Sorry, I've been out of town for 5 days and didn't see your post. I would love to read about your father-in-laws experiences. Is it easiest to email it to me? If so go ahead and send it to: john@kivahouse.com I didn't see the thread in the main board, I'll go look for it now. Otto
