Schrullenhaft, Good info, how did you ever learn all that? I received my G4 with the 32mb Radeon put in by Apple so they have just started(4 weeks or more) installing them. I agree no updates from ATI currently, who should I expect to put this out first, ATI or Apple. As you can tell I don't really know what I'm talking about......I just want to play the CM battles with fog.

Did a search for complete a gray screen problem and found a solution for a pc but it's happening on my G4 with 32mb Radeon video card. Here was the pc solution: "There should be a control panel for your video card and/or DirectX. If there is a switch to "enable fog table emulation", turn it on." But what is the solution for a Mac? Am I missing something really obvious?

Schrullenhaft, Thanks for the confirmation, at least the problem is being worked on. The video card I was trying to refer to is the new Radeon 32mb, I'm not sure of its complete name. But its in the AGP slot built in. I read on the ATI siter regarding updating drivers: WARNING: The drivers supplied here are designed for the specific ATI retail add-in products listed. "If your ATI graphics controller is built into your Macintosh system (i.e. incorporated on the main system logic board or pre-installed by the system manufacturer), please consult with the system manufacturer before updating the drivers. " Do you have any experience with this?

Nicolas, Oh, but of course I have kept playing I haven't figured out a solution, I'm just waiting for ATI to put out a new driver I guess. Do you also have an overall text problem? When I click on a unit sometimes I can see their names,ammo,etc.....and sometimes I can't. Also, the vehicle hit info pops up very blurry. I have 2 ATI grapics cards, One 32mb Rage6 built into the system, then One 16mb Rage128 that I put in. I get a little better grapics on the 32mb. Still loving the game though.

I assume that the iMac problem would also apply to new G4's. I get the same black screen for unit info and other areas. Anyone know if that assumption is correct?

This may have been mentioned but here goes. I played a pbem game with these setup rules: Chance Encounter: Americans setup on their far left and Germans setup on their far left. These altered starting positions cause the attcks to come from different angles and diagonally across the board. It created new lines of sight and angles of attack making it feel like a brand new scenario(if we used our imagination and squinted our eyes....lol) Rather fun for a scenario we all know so well.

Great idea, I'll start digging for some stories.

I agree, very well researched book, but I was hoping for more smaller level unit stories and first hand accounts. I lose interest when they describe where every unit went(ie. 14th div, 234regiment moved to the west of the 15th div, 123rd regiments) But that is my opinion. I actually stumbled across the author of that book while ordering another war book. He is at Aegis Consulting Phone(814)-623-8308 or email at aegis@bedford.net I think he went by the name of Kitt Bonn. He spent 30 minutes on the phone with me talking about war stuff and Operation Nordwind(that was VERY COOL!) He said he did that book while at the Univ. of Chicago for a thesis and they are into facts...not personal histories like he would have liked. Contact him if you want, he was very friendly. Babra, Great idea with the map, although I think I would need to get a detailed area or battle map, all I have is the text. Magnus, I went to my source file to find my original page design(to center the map) and found that I must have thrown it out when cleaning up files.....AAUUUGGhhhhh. (stupid me, stupid me) Or maybe it was German spies that hacked into my computer. I'll have to do some redesign work before I can change that. Kevin, I like how you think!!!!

"Seek" regarding Winter Storm, no I have not gotten it yet, but will double my efforts now that you mention a Hattan Chapter. "Magnus" good idea on the left frame, but do you mean centered up and down or left and right? Also, I'm not kidding when I say I don't have the rest of the story, my grandfather is in Florida and the content is in Maryland. I do think the Magnoit Line is near, but I'm still trying to figure out how close? I'm trying to find somebody on ICQ who lives near Hatten who would go there and take some current pictures of the village. Otto

WOW!, this is great!!! I just received a copy of a Unit Citation Report as a christmas present from my wife's grandfather. The topic: Hatten-Rittershofen Jan 9-12. It was from his unit which was an anti-tank company in the 42nd Rainbow Division. I'm waiting more info and putting it into a web page for him, its an amazing story, maybe your dad is mentioned.
