  1. You're on Sukta. Send me a file and I will get to it tomorrow. Have to get up early and it is getting late. I guess Herr Eggbert fears for his 'legendary' reputation and would rather not have his ovaries beaten by me. VS I'll try to go easy on you. After all, you have suffered enough riding that CR.
  2. Well Her Eggbert since you put it that way. Here you come crying foul like a soccer mom protecting her club footed son after falling on his pimpled face. Post this way...post that way ...why cant you be more like me. Go ahead and try to exert some pressure after a day of working for the REAL head of the household. Her Eggbert: 'Can I stop now Honey?' The Miss': "Quit crying in your toilet brush you sniveling dog! Now back to the bowl' Herr Ovaries: 'Yes sugarplum' Just because your better half(and probably only good half) would rather see you suffer through her drills of time killing than see you enjoying yourself gives you no right to try to upset your betters. Now is not the time to act like you have a backbone. I can see it now. There you are alone, with your brush held high in rubber gloved hands and a coward's smirk on your face. *sob 'I am not going to take this any more. I'm going to stand up for myself. I'm good enough...I'm smart enough...and doggoneit, people like me.*sob* Now send me that file and I promise I wont put you to work, Herr Eggbert. I will however put your troops to work digging the graves of their fallen comrades. STUKA; How did you guess it was a PW 50. It was just too much for me. Actually my daughter has a PW 80 and I just bought the new YZ 426. Damn footpegs are sharp. 49 stitches later and I still went riding Saturday after the doctor advised me not to. Sure wish I had listened to him. You ride? VS [This message has been edited by von shrad (edited 10-23-2000).]
  3. well it just didn't look right after I posted it...sounded kind of prickish. btw..... *woof*
  4. **von shrad breaking stick and shoving it in the quagmire, disturbing the many layers to see what kind of creatures stir*** Somebody in this god-forsaken place send me a set-up with some details. What's a guy have to do to get a game around here? Edited for content [This message has been edited by von shrad (edited 10-22-2000).]
  5. Hey Madmatt been a while since I told you thanks for the quality site. Thank you. Its much appreciated. VS By the way, don't you rest? or are you un-dead?
  6. I'll have you know that I have occupied the finest cardboard boxes in shanty-town, no doubt. And by the way. Thank you for that warm welcome and let me take a minute to express my great displeasure for being here. How could I have stayed away so long when the stench has so often filled my nostrils inviting me to find its source, if only out of curiosity. How does this squire apprenticeship work? Who do I topple first? ============================================ [This message has been edited by von shrad (edited 10-22-2000).]
  7. 'Excuse me but if I kill all the golfers won't they lock me up and throw away the key?' What a classic. Ranks up there with Airplane and Blazing Saddles. Although I don't remember the 'cannonball' Must be my some-timers kicking in again. VS
  8. Wow. Cool tidbit Bullethead. A common crank huh? Was this an exception or did others use that design? VS
  9. I'm sorry, this ...er...term Cannonball escapes me. Is this some sort of bathtub brew or a prison 'Hooch' recipe? 2 weeks serving of fruit cocktail 4 slices of bread from yesterdays bologna sandwiches 2 tablespoons of contraband sugar In slightly rinsed out shampoo bottle add fruit and any other fruit-like ingredients. Slowly crumble bread into container while being careful to sift out any mouse droppings. Add sugar clots Shake vigorously and let mature 3-5
  10. *Rolling up the windows and locking the doors* 'See kids this is called skid row. You see that group over there. Well they decided to break away from polite society and come here in this hole....this cesspool if you will, to huddle around a lonely barrel fire and sip Ripple.' "Dad,were they always like this?" 'No son. It is like a sickness I believe. Kind of like Poison Ivy. The more you aggravate it, the worst it gets. "Dad I'm scared. They don't look right to me." 'Don't stare too much now. They have our pity.' ***Yelling and shaking fist*** ' I don't need my windshield washed and I don't have an extra dollar so you can 'catch the bus'!' 'We better leave. It will be getting dark soon.' "Dad what will become of them?" 'I don't know son. I don't know' ***burning the tires all the way back to the suburbs**** Hello Cesspool VS
  11. Seems like this was brought up a few times way back when before the Beta Demo. If I recall correctly BTS will consider making future versions compatible with the older ones and visa versa IF it is possible. If not then I guess they wont. It might be very difficult if you consider that some of the engine might change. I don't know if it will but if it does it might require a lot of work to upgrade CMBO. I think that if it was possible then a *chargeable* mod would be acceptable by most people when you consider that CM2 and others will require enough work just by themselves. BTS seems to try and please us as much as is feasible because these guys are making games that they have always desired. I have the utmost confidence in the choices that this company makes and feel I will be a long time customer of theirs. But as far as each game in a sequel being compatible with the previous ones it brings to mind some great possibilities. Just think how cool it would be if you could put in one CD and play any part of the war. From the beaches of Omaha to the vast open desert to the Red Tide rolling over Berlin in a last major offensive. WOW, that would be great, *****DROOL***** Sorry for the rant, VS
  12. Sneaky I didn't receive a score for your game against Ted yet. Maybe you should re-send the last turn to him and ask in the e-mail for the final file. I would. I like to view the AAR and map to see how much the FOW influenced my decisions. I have also yet to receive any scores from Jester. Lorak, did you have any more scores to report. I only have the 1 from you, against me.
  13. Jadayne so far the Germans and Allies have an equal amount of wins at 10 each.(with 1 tie being awarded as a win for each) A couple players have won big with both sides which appears to be better play and certain in-game circumstances that attributed to the success of the player. I for one thought it would be weighted towards the axis. I am glad to see things aren't as 'cut and dry' as one would be led to believe. VS
  14. Ted, sorry I am so late at replying to your post. I wrecked my dirt bike last night and had to get 49 stitches to close up one nasty looking wound. Anyway to answer your question here is a list of completed games so far that I have received scores on. If there is any games I missed please re-send the results because they were lost in cyber-space. Group A A1, A2, A4, A5 Group B B2, B3, B6 Group C C4, C5, C6 Group D is finished Group E E5, E6.....com'on group E Group F F3, F5, F6 That is all I have right now but I have the feeling some are missing. BasilD, I am very happy to see you are back and that your absence was not intentional. Please accept my apologies for jumping to conclusions. Has anyone heard from sledge? E-mail me if you have any questions or just post them. Again, sorry Basil. VS
  15. I didn't think YOU would quit after the pounding you gave me. Thanks again for the game. I almost enjoyed it.
  16. Basil I have received several e-mails stating that you were very slow at sending turns and only did so after much prompting. Further, we have been unsuccessful to reach you in e-mails to gain some understanding of your departure. In light of these events I have no choice other than to consider you AWOL and hereby remove you from the tournament. Sorry BasilD but it is getting late in the round and we need to move on. Is there any other games that are not being concluded because the opponent is not sending back turns? Let me know in a E-mail. How about Sledge? Did he finish his games before he left? There are still several games that have not reported scores as of yet. Also keep in mind that the round willbe over at the end of the month when the 2nd rnd. will start. VS
  17. Oh no! Not the Grammar Borg. Get your own gig imposter!
  18. Hi there fellow contestants. Group D has finished their games and the final scores are posted below. Group D: Cubes 26 Preacher 29 Melloj 66.3 Pvt. Pike *** 74.6 *** D1 *Cubes 29 vs. Preacher 71 D2 *Cubes 24 vs. Melloj 76 D3 *Cubes 25 vs. Pvt.Pike 75 D4 *Melloj 95 vs. Preacher 5 D5 *Melloj 28 vs. Pvt.Pike 62 D6 *Preacher 13 vs. Pvt.Pike 87 Congratulations Pvt.Pike. You have proved yourself worthy to advance to the second round. Good job. Also there have been some confusion as to where to send the scores. My e-mail is stuka@jcn1.com and all game related e-mails should be sent there. The PLAYER Stuka has been receiving several of the mis-directed e-mails so send them to me(von shrad) and not him. There are many games still in progress and most in the last stages. However, it appears that there are a couple of games sitting idle. Are there any players that are not receiving turns from an opponent? If so please E-mail me with their forum names and game number so I can try to get in touch with them because we are running out of time for the first round to be completed. (end of Oct.) Lastly, to the players that didn't advance; You'll get 'em next time. I plan on doing another tourney after this is finished that will allow more people to participate. 19. Greg = ? Com'on Greg. *poke poke* Tell us you are NOT a Pbem slacker! *rib*
  20. Well I just saw this thread. Things are coming along good so far from some of the groups. I have completed all of my games so others in my group can send me scores now. There has not been any scores reported from group A so far and only 1 from group B. The other groups have about 50% of their games reported and group D is finished except for Preacher and Pvt.Pike's game. We are already a month into this with only Oct. remaining to finish the first round so lets get things going. Is there anybody that has yet to start any games yet? Post them on this thread so we can all rib 'em till they do start. Keep those scores coming and good luck. VS P.S. Def, you just had to buy the Von Shrad special didn't you?
  21. Well I just got back from a long weekend partying in Chicago and taking in a Cards-Cubs game. What a blast that town is! Anyways its nice to see that the games are progressing as they are. My results are 1 win, 1 loss, and one that is soon to be finished. I am getting curious to who will advance to the second round. Players should be keeping track of the scores just in case there is a difference in my scores that I will post and the correct ones. VS
  22. 'Whats your clearance, Clarence?' 'Billy, have you ever seen a grown man naked?'
  23. Yeah Ted. Go ahead and post the winners if you like just keep the score to yourself. It probably would'nt matter but just to be sure we won't.
