1. side note: If i remmember my WWII diggings... the USA was NOT a signee of the geneva convention!
2. the day germnany initiated the all out offensive in the west... thx BTS! operation commencing right on schedule~
3. the day germnany initiated the all out offensive in the west... thx BTS! operation commencing right on schedule~
4. the day germnany initiated the all out offensive in the west... any corelation?
5. i've been laying low of late, can (at the risk of revealing my stupiditity) anyone say "WHERE" the GD will be located to download it? i assume in the 'download' section here... anywhere else? 'HQ"? probably... else? ok.. i'm on the edge of my foxhole too, keeping a sharp eye out for that supply drop~
6. yes i have pre-ordered (2) copies- and no, i won't copy it. my son and i have turned one or two others onto Cm and i know they in turn have done the same! a long chain of like minded gamer's- we're cool
7. 1st: they were weather balloons - everyone in the government knows this! and they know everything... 2nd fu (cleaned up for public consuption "foo") as in FUBAR was military for -****ed up beyond a...... so it only carries thru that a foo fighter is one that is not "normal"
8. if you play "white rabbit" in reverse it tells you the RELEASE DATE!
9. whoa Steve....this is a scary statement "is like other demos and "pretend that you could care less if you ever play the real thing" ? this reads extremely foreboding....please recant or reword and make it a little more upbeat LIE TO US
10. if wheatfields are early spring then there is no height to them but if they are only indications (maybe affect movement?) why not do without? or as a substitute, a plowed field! just ruddy ruts and soft muddy earth with 'NO' LOS blockage
11. just a quick not...the capt (despite his personal habits that as a father abhor) asked some very GOOD questions about CM, that except for one were pretty much ignored. can we go back and address those?
12. AS I RECALL: grazing ( as in a bovine grazing the grass ) taking off the surface at an even trim.... what Archangel refers to i think is called PLUNGING fire...actually at great distance rounds impact in a cone similar to hosing your garden at the furthest reach of the water. you would be firing over medium distance targets if there were any. make sense? sometimes words are so difficult....
13. just curious...will BTS be making an appearence at the show in May?
14. on a similar note, i believe some US AFV's had gyro-stabilizer's i.e. accuracy was not impaired when targeting while moving. in fact, (i found this hard to believe) US tanks were likely to have a better chance of hitting the target WHILE MOVING. ok, we HAVE to throw that out, right? but is the gyro a plus? and taken into account in CM?
15. hmmm- thanks Fionn. its amazing how an idea can seem so logical at first thought, then another point of view lets yyou see how wrong you were. i thought of another reason while i read your reply...IF I COULD SEE MY UNITS FROM THE ENEMY POINT OF VIEW, I WOULD HAVE AN IDEA WHERE he was! BUt i think all i was trying to point out was walk 100 yards/meters turn around and 'look' at your position. "how does it look"? irregardless of the enemy position. is my AFV hull down? that would have nothing to do with "spotting" does that describe my meaning better?
16. a toggle to view YOUR troops as seen from th eopponent point of view. detail: troops would regularly camoflauge their wpns/vehicle and then walk a bit to see how they had done or what they missed. CM allows us to see "our" stuff no matter what, a switch to see if that mortar ammo truck is truly hidden, would be a nice feature...yes? i KNOW not for the release, FOR THE PATCH!
17. I was sent this web site, and wanted to share it, looks like some interesting reading. sorry if someone has already listed this- www.tankbooks.com
18. guys pardon my slowness, but i have to tell you i just observed my M4 pivoting 180 degrees....AWESOME! if some of you havn't checked out the tracks during this manuver i Highly recommend you zoom in and watch the action! BTS unbelievably great detailing...i know you have got 'men running' graphics now, and had crawling, throwing etc...have i missed some other OBVIOUS but really sweet movemnet details?
19. dear flank Boy thank you for an in depth, and fascinating account. question: if you discounted the approach used by the germans, does that mean there is no built-in "amount of ground to cover" calculator? i'm not being a samart-ass, really want to know. too many games allow you to 'calculate' the distance from x to y, and how many turns it will take to arrive. if not built-in in, there is enough information that you can figure it out. so was this a 'gut' feeling (too far) can't do it...or miscalculated? or though you can calculate (in full version YOU are testing) you choose not to? hope this isn't too complex, but i think you see where i'm coming from... thx
20. i wanted my 30th post to be something special. i was waiting for a topic that would rightly fit the mold, of attainment...it is finally here! and capt manieri..i mean this with ALL respect...i ReALLY do want to know what "else to worry about" today's 16 year old has. i have 3 sons, 2 married and 1 in college. when i was in high school vietnam was just starting, and no one even knew where it WAS! i was worried about going... now i just worry about getting home safe after leaving work (a 5 minute drive) enlighten me please? thanks!
21. major, one disturbing question, annoys my consciousness, whether real or imagined. in part:
quote:
Originally posted by Major Tom: Well, Madmatt's coolness can be solved by slightly modifying Descarte's metaphysics. If one truely doubts their coolness, as Madmatt has admited so, he then must be enacting the action of doubting. In order for someone to doubt, they must have the capacity to doubt, one which would require a thinking mind.

this 'doubting = existance. what if its just an empty mirror we hold up? undersatnd you SAY it proves, but what if you/he/they only made that up in order to make it sound believable? just because i doubt? i breathe, doesn't that PROVE i exist? no - i could be imagining that as well. therefore, i will either accept my existance on my own free will (choice) or wait for CM to actually arrive, thereby proving we ALL exist and none of this is made up....unless i only believe it arrived...then i know nothing. and nothing is everything in the void.
22. WHAT !? you mean you don't have to register for each message! ow.... kidding
23. look at us rally round the CAPT! isnt that way cool! in high school most us prob would turned away from the little guy ( i WAS THE LITTLE GUY - so i know) but here, he's now become our mascoT! Capt its only you're method, i can choose to read or not read your posts, BUT YOU MUST BE WHO YOU ARE! if you irritate people, find out why and what, and work on it, but don't change who you are!! EVER! and tho some of your q's are 'out there' (dogs?) i must admit you've acted as 'point man' and asked questions i wanted answers to, but didn't have the guts to ask! so reload, keep your head down, but keep advancing!
24. Well as long as wer're just killing time while waiting, and hoping....on the topic of smoke; if the game includes weather, does it include wind (or will it in a patch later release etc?) and if wind "is" included the affects on smoke. on a breezy day that tall column might be laying near horizontal - covering a loooong front. or on a windy day, make it useless! like Rick, i'm not asking for inclusion, just throwing out ideas.
25. hey Thnaks Capt M! see being dexlectic i sometimes do that...but its always nice to have the little errors pointed out to me so i can feel really good about myself in public... Major Tom- ahhh thank you. rational minds DO exist. both your answer and the BTS team. HB- thanks fo rwatching my '6' hey Capt M...i was kidding about the dexlectic part...well actually about the whole paragraph, cause sometimes i type too fsat and when i'm tired i just want to get my idea down, and i hardly ever proof it before upload. do you? anyway, you're probably a good kid with good intentions, so keep a look out for my spelling errors ( at least it'll raise your message count) hahaahaa
