1. Yes, I think a save-game feature in TCP/IP is a must! smile.gif

IIRC from previous discussions, BTS want's to put in some sort of timer to limit how much time you have available to view the turn video and give orders. That would way you can limit how long a game can take, but say you use on average 5 mins. pr turn on a 40 turns game....!

Still, I really hope they release that patch soon! biggrin.gif

Beats me! As long as the question is relatively simple, it's so much easier to just answer it! wink.gif

Of course, if it's a topic that has been debated to hell and back, then one could politely say so and suggest a search or perhaps include a link to said discussion(s).

Only generally. Charles has stated that due to continuously increasing hardware power after the release of CM1, we might very well see a lot of enhanced graphical related changes in the later versions.

Hmmm, in my view it's more like icing on the cake. It makes the game a little sweeter and prettier to look at, but the real flavour is still there, with the icing or not.

Dang! Now I'm suddenly hungry! wink.gif

Just my personal view of course.

  5. No, you can't add piccies as an attachment, but you can automatically add a picture to your post, by setting up an URL-link to it. Take a look at the UUB code (link's to the left).

E.g. in order to show this picture:

    Pal%20Woje%2099.jpg

I just wrote "[<>img]http://www.icdc.com/~nbell/Pal%20Woje%2099.jpg[/img<>]", but without the <>. NB! The picture must be on the net somewhere (i.e. reachable by an URL).

Not quite. A while ago there was a thread about making a modern CM, US Civil War etc. Charles (IIRC) said that the engine would have to be completely redesigned before it could be used for anything else than WWII. Even PTO wasn't doable in CM for some reason (do a search if you want more info).

Well, the germans didn't have that many of them (less than 100?), and they where desperatly short on fuel. IIRC some KT simply where abandoned after runing out of fuel.

Ol' Blood and Guts asked me once what the heck my sig meant, so I just had to tell him! cool.gif

"The Charge of the Light Brigade" by Alfred Lord Tennyson.

HALF a league, half a league,

    Half a league onward,

All in the valley of Death

    Rode the six hundred.

    'Forward, the Light Brigade!

Charge for the guns!' he said:

    Into the valley of Death

    Rode the six hundred.

    'Forward, the Light Brigade!'

    Was there a man dismay'd ?

    Not tho' the soldier knew

    Some one had blunder'd:

    Their's not to make reply,

    Their's not to reason why,

Their's but to do and die:

    Into the valley of Death

    Rode the six hundred.

    Cannon to right of them,

    Cannon to left of them,

    Cannon in front of them

    Volley'd and thunder'd;

Storm'd at with shot and shell,

    Boldly they rode and well,

    Into the jaws of Death,

    Into the mouth of Hell

    Rode the six hundred.

    Flash'd all their sabres bare,

Flash'd as they turn'd in air

    Sabring the gunners there,

    Charging an army, while

    All the world wonder'd:

    Plunged in the battery-smoke

    Right thro' the line they broke;

    Cossack and Russian

    Reel'd from the sabre-stroke

    Shatter'd and sunder'd.

Then they rode back, but not

    Not the six hundred.

    Cannon to right of them,

    Cannon to left of them,

    Cannon behind them

    Volley'd and thunder'd;

Storm'd at with shot and shell,

    While horse and hero fell,

They that had fought so well

Came thro' the jaws of Death,

Back from the mouth of Hell,

All that was left of them,

    Left of six hundred.

When can their glory fade ?

O the wild charge they made!

    All the world wonder'd.

    Honour the charge they made!

    Honour the Light Brigade,

    Noble six hundred!

Er... you don't watch much Startrek, do you? smile.gif

The Borg was (is?) an alien culture which assimilates all its members into a greater ah... mental community (someone with a better knowledge of english please help me out here!) That is, all memebers are physically individuals, but share the same mind, so to speak.

I have no idea about the technical problems here, but it would be nice to be able to create a movie that replays the whole battle from a fixed point of view, e.g. following behind a particular unit (tab, 1) or from a fixed position over the battlefield. This ought to be feasible.

Well, if they manage to do a full-film feature, I guess it will be just as a usual turn film with all the awailable controls. Thus you could rerun the entire show following each and every unit in turn, from any position, over and over again! smile.gif

Oh my God! It just dawn on me what this will do to my spare time and family life! eek.gif

Perhaps it would be better if it never happened! biggrin.gif
