Yet another word: midnight. Photographs and movies of night battles would be spectacular. Tracers, flames, explosions. The Pixel Pulitzer should (if adopted) look like the website logo, except with a trophy drawn on the flag. I am designing a strategic context for my brother-in-law and myself to play. That way, the collected battles will amount to something larger. I advise it, it's fun to create. Maps, large units, unit histories, ect. The units can probably be saved in the editor. This would give them personality. The First Infantry Division fights through Europe. The turnover rate is way to high and the scale way to big to account for every man, but the STORY would be great. ------------------ Climb to Glory!

Are their plans to show all the people on the battlefield in the next version? If not, how about the Eastern Front version? I have thought that it could be doable as a playback option with realistic scaling. We should have a "Pixel Pulitzer" contest. Movies and screenshots could be made and sent in by gamers. There could be different categories: Historical Photo Recreation, Artistic, Realistic, and Formation. The Formation category could be done with some creative (althought unrealistic) editor work. Seperate the forces with an unfordable river bounded by hills and swamps, and deploy the troops in formation style. A "parade" could be arranged for movies. Fan fiction could also be done. This way, we could take over the entertainment part of this site, giving the CM people more time to work on the game. One word: STALINGRAD. One author said that there was nothing more viscious in the world than a 19 year old American boy. Gold tooth fillings were taken from Japanese dead. Many SS were not taken prisoner. More pointedly, the 3rd SS Panzer Division surrendered to the US, only to be turned over to the Russians (unlike most other SS units who surrendered to the US). The Division was formed by the Commandant of Dachau (Theodor Eicke), and the cadre was made up of concentration camp guards. Needless to say, they had some command climate issues. I don't think they were ever seen again. It deserves mentioning that war crimes were part of both sides of the war. How many types of soldiers are there? Meaning, is the system complicated enough to tell the difference between crack troops and commandos? I have read that there are seperate scales for morale and discipline. How large are these scales, 1-10? Could you guys give examples of what kind of troops have what kind of numbers? ------------------ Climb to Glory!

Three years, 10th Mountain Infantry. I was a grunt, but was sent to my batalion's intelligence shop. I also worked as a radioman and as a computer geek at personnel before getting out. I was going to go ROTC, but medical hyperactivity disqualified me. Served as a Peacekeeper in the Sinai during Desert Storm. As a future addition to the game, showing all of the soldiers seems to be in the plans. Still, how to make it work? Perhaps having it as an option for "playing with ants" would be best. Showing everyone at full size could create overlapping problems. Have you guys considered it? Also, when the game is shipped, what are you planning for the box? Of course, I am partial to Tigers, but there are tons of possibilities. Will the Battlefront.com flag be on the box, or just the BTS logo? At any rate, could you post the cover before you ship it? From what I can gather, it's about: 25% KIA 10% DOW 5% Medical Discharge (maimed, PTSD, etc.) 55% WIA 5% Return to Duty (RTD) Don't forget the lack of care for encircled units and winter weather. Can't wait to see this game. Whatever the figures (all grognards have an axe to grind) it's going to be a valuable tool. I start at Arizona State University on August 17th as a History major. Just went to the preview. I thought they were modeling leaders differently. Since the game tracks which person is killed for weapons-change purposes, can't a leader be the same? Meaning that if Unterofficier Stein is killed, then the unit shows Unterofficier Bauer instead. ------------------ Climb to Glory!
