  1. To all lose wishing to be laid-off; be careful of what you wish for. As an Electronics Tech; I have suffered badly from the Great Tech Bust. In my new job I get 20% less pay, work longer and harder, and get almost no benifits. the grass where are is often more green than you think. On a side note It is good to be back, I have been gone from the Battlefront scene for a long time. It is interesting to see how much and how little has changed. I am downloading the demo now I hope that CM:BB has fixed some of the things I really disliked about CM:BO. Last note my Member number# in low hundereds guess there were fewer of us back then than I had thought.
  2. I have been playing at TH ladder. At first it was enjoyable, but then as time wore on I grown tired of a few things. I grown tired having to worry about WHAT I BUY, instead of how good my tactics are. It is as simple as that. I have yet to decide whether to give up on TH ladder, or contine to play but with only very carfully constructed peramiters (that kinda sucks) One thing I know That there will always be people who try to streach a system to its limits looking for for an advantage. The only cure is not to play them. I think you will find me in the chat room of CMHQ these days than that of TH. On a side note I think one of the best ways to run a tournment would be to have a referee who hands out Tournment saved maps and forces to the contestants. The forces then would be garrenteed to be more TOE accurate.
  3. I have never seen where being hull down really matters. A vast majority of hits seem to occure to the turret anyway. Very few seem to hit the hull. Ofcourse I play smaller battles, on medium sized maps where the average engagement range is about 400 or less yards.
  4. I somewhat disapointed by the lack of turn out at CMHQ chat and the Tournament House. I rarly see more than 10 people at either the site and never more than 20. Come on people, come out of your hiding place and face some real people. It is FAR more satisfing to defeat a person than the AI.
  5. Ofcoure the worst "hollywood" explosion is the building. Large heavy building when they go, look like small nuke hit them. In real life when destroyed most buildings just collapse inward. I have to admit I really like that big "BOOM". I still makes me twitch when it happens
  6. I find that Crack is the best buy. Elite is to costly; and Crack does almost as good. Command Delay Crack 8 sec. Elite 5 sec.
  7. I played these games until my eyes bled. Master of Orion Master of Orion II Starcraft Chain of Command
  8. The release of the TCP/IP patch has brought my back from self-imposed exile. It seems as though there is a lot of new faces around here. I am posting my AOL (darstand) and ICQ (37287287022) for SOLE purpose of find other players while I am ONLINE. So if you want put on your list. And I will put you on mine. And anyone interested please post your ICQ and/or AOL and we will have a list of TCP/IP opponents at easy reach.
  9. Under the heading of clues for the clueless. How do I find out my IP address???? I use Internet Explorer and Earthlink as my provider. Does the address change every time you log on????
  10. Better yet build your own scenerio's with no flags.....Yes it can be done.
  11. In a scenerio battle vs Freyland I had a Pillbox MG get 32 confirmed kills and 2 mortars teams. Freyland never destroyed the pillbox the poor bastards RAN OUT OF AMMO and surrendered. I had a US infantry squad get 32 kills
  12. I guess it could be worse we all could be interested in killing each other in graphic real-time combat. (Quake anyone???) I am only interested in having fun AND totaly dominating my opponets on the field of battle Whats military history?
  13. Pillar: I am impressed with your website and set-up of CM-RPG. To be honest I was expecting a far more ametuer effort. Is your project proceeding well? [This message has been edited by Darstand (edited 08-24-2000).]
  14. "By the way if you want to know what the Brits DO remember about the Aussies in WW2 thats answerable in one word - Tobruk." Not familar with that one please elaborate
  15. In Mogadishu, Somalia. After the fighting that left 18 men dead. Many of the fighters complained that the tungsten tiped 5.56 round was rather ineffective. The enemy needed to be hit several times before droping. Side Note Some say the 5.56 is to light and some say the 7.6 is to heavy. So who knows mabey in the future a 6.5 round will be really popular
