  1. Try and rename your existing 1.10 CM exe file before you run the new patch. Now rerun the 1.11 patch and see if the error continues. It sounds as if perhaps that one file has been set to READ ONLY and the patch is not being permitted to overwrite it. Let me know if that works or not. Madmatt
  2. Looks like the training campaign was left out of the current v1.10 Paradox Patch. I will be sure to put it back in for future patches. If need be, we could also post that file so Paradox customers that have the very original version of CMSF on CD (that has never been updated) could get that file. Madmatt
  3. Der Alte Fritz, Try this, go into the DATA folder and rename the Intro.wmv file to something like Intro.bak. Now try it again. And this time, when you get the black screen make sure and click the mouse and see if that doesn't work. Madmatt
  4. If you have any mods installed, please remove them and see if that makes a difference. Certain mods will need to be updated to support the Marines Module. Madmatt
  5. Mod authors will need to update their mods because the strings.txt file has been changed in the new Version 110.brz fle. They should be able to extract the new file from the updated brz file and remake their old mods to accomodate the new changes. I have updated the readme file to mention this. If you launch a battle with the Marines Module and DON'T see the Iron skill level listed, thats a clear indication that you have a mod installed that needs to be removed/updated in order for the game to work without crashing. Madmatt
  6. AirDrop, You have you updated your Geforce card using the new Nvidia drivers that were posted on the 25th of this month? If not, I suggest you try those and see if you still get these same memory errors. You can get those drivers from here: http://www.nvidia.com/Download/index.aspx?lang=en-us Madmatt
  7. Thanks ND, we will have a look at this and see what could be causing it. Madmatt
  8. The Download code and elicense code are one and the same. Email us at elicense@battlefront.com and be sure and give your full name and email address on the order as well as the code you are trying with. Madmatt
  9. I would STRONGLY suggest you update your Nvidia drivers. The latest have seemed to do much better on my 8800 card for a variety of programs. Actually, looks like Nvidia just released a new set (178.13) yesterday. I haven't tested those just yet but my previous ones (updated just a month or two ago) worked well for me. Madmatt
  10. Hey guys, I would very much like to see your battle so I can run some tests with it in TCP with the 1.10 version. Can you please zip it up and email it to me at support@battlefront.com? If you could explain everything odd your seeing in that same email, it would help me to focus the testing. Thanks! Madmatt
  11. I also have a x850 Radeon and discovered that when you have the Catalyst drivers 8.7 or newer installed, you should enable the ATI Left Click Compatability setting inside of the CMSF Options panel. Before the 8.7 drivers came out, you didnt' need to activate that option with x850's, but ever since, if you don't, you may notice a lot of mouse/cursor lag. I am not sure what other "older" Radeons the newer Catalyst drivers will affect in this way, but I wouldn't be surprised if its others. Madmatt
  12. This is actually a bug with the Nvidia drivers that occurs with certain cards and we noticed it some time ago. It has to do with how they are handle their mipmaps as i recall. I know Charles has looked into this before but I am not sure if its anything we can yet fix on our end or not. Hopefully Nvidia will address it in a future driver release. Madmatt
  13. Are you playing these QB's as single player or Hotseat? What side are you choosing to play? Obviously you won't see any enemy units until they come into sight so I am not sure why you think that is a problem. Initial camera position is actually set by the scenario designer when he first created the map so that should not be any indication of a problem. What sound mods are you trying to use and where are you putting the files? Also, they should be .wav not .waves. Madmatt
  14. With regards to issue #1, did you by chance have one your units selected when you clicked the GO button? If so, depending on the FOW level, you may not have had valid LOS to your other units, thats why they would not have been shown. Try and unselect any unit and see if your units re-appear. There is another issue that can cause some units to disappear and its related to the display of shadows. Try and disable shadows with Alt-W and see if your units re-appear. As to the second issue, I will have to run some tests on that to see if it can be replicated. I assume you have the games language set to English? Madmatt
  15. TheHIV, You would need to contact Paradox directly to confirm, but I seem to recall that their version of CMSF utilizes a copy protection system that could conflict with any Virtual CD Emulation software such as Daemon Tools, or Nero. If you can, try and disable that software (or you may have to uninstall it) and then see if you still get that same error. Paradox's Support group can be reached via this link: http://www.paradoxplaza.com/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=78&Itemid=181 Madmatt
  16. You can find all those CMBB patches on this site (The Patches Scrolls). I will update the links on the webpage shortly. http://dlh.net/cgi-bin/dlp.cgi?lang=eng&sys=pc&file=cmbbv101us.zip&ref=ps
  17. What problem are you having specifically with your 8800GT card? Thats the same card I have in my primary test system (with XP though) and I don't get any slowdowns. You may want to look over the ToW Troubleshooting Guide under the section for Performance Tweaks as their are some Nvidia specific settings you can adjust that will improve things for your card. http://www.battlefront.com/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=1108&Itemid=30 Madmatt
  18. In the ToW troubleshooting guide are a number of Nvidia specific settings you can adjust in your drivers control panel that could help with your performance. Here is a link to that section of the FAQ. http://www.battlefront.com/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=1108&Itemid=30 Madmatt
  19. You seem to be having two separate issues with SC2 and ToW. In your other post about SC2 the error message you showed IS a DEP issue. You seem to have set DEP properly for ToW but in the screenshot above I dont see anything for SC2. Please set that as detailed in the FAQ. Now, for ToW, you havent actually said WHAT its doing when you try and run the game. You said you fixed the inverted issue but then said the game won't start. Those two statements would seem to contradict each other because your screen wouldn't show as inverted UNLESS the game was launching. Were you able to at least get to the license panel to type in your eLicense code? If you got past that point, can you describe exactly what your seeing please? Do you notice if the mouse cursor changes at all? Did the screen go blank and then go back to the desktop? Did you see any error message at all? We need as much info as you can provide so we can try and troubleshoot what it is your seeing. Please try and understand that we are trying to help you but we need to get clear and consise information from you in order to do this. Now, you said you have a 1.83Ghz Lenovo Laptop but there are many varients of that and they have different video cards. Some of the video cards that they come with should work with Theatre of War and others WILL NOT as listed on the ToW Specs page. Please try and let us know what video card is in yours so we can determine if your laptop is even capable of running ToW. For SC2, as I said in your other post, it sounds as if you just need to set the DEP settings. Lastly, your really in no position to comment about the numbness of my nuts but I do appreciate your concern and interest in them. You will, however, find help from me coming much easier if you would try and keep the maturity level of your posts a little higher up. Madmatt
  20. There is really no connection between one game and another but the problem you are seeing is documented in full in the eLicense FAQ Guide. You need to properly set your Data Execution Prevention settings. This is something that Microsoft implemented and has been known to cause problems with various games and other applications (seperate from anything we make). Various things can cause the DEP setting to reset or need to be reconfigured and that sounds like what happened with your computer. If you do a search on DEP in google you will see that it causes far more problems than it has ever fix and is just another example of a good idea poorly implemented by Microsoft. As to your other comments, I and many of my testers have every single game we make on the same computers and there is not any documented cases of one program interferring with another at all. (html version of section below with screenshot) http://www.battlefront.com/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=47&Itemid=30 Here is what you need to get everything, both ToW and SC2) to work on your PC: I get this error: The application failed to initialize properly (0xc0000005)! Friday, 26 October 2007 You may need to adjust your Data Execution Prevention settings. Here is how: 1. Right-click on "My Computer" 2. Select "Properties" 3. Click on the "Advanced" Tab. 4. Click on the Performance "Settings" Button 5. Click on the "Data Execution Prevention" Tab 6. Verify that "Turn on DEP for essential Windows programs and services only" is selected. If it is not, select that option and click "APPLY" and then try and run the game. Note: Even if you see that option checked already, go ahead and uncheck and then recheck it to ensure that its activated! 7. If the crash persists, go back and select the other option "turn on DEP for all windows programs and services EXCEPT those I select" and ADD the following files: 7a. For Strategic Command 2 add "SC2.exe" and "Editor.exe" Those files will be found in your C:\Program Files\Battlefront\Strategic Command 2 directory by default or wherever you installed the game on your computer. 7b. For DropTeam add "DropTeam.exe" and "Update.exe". Those files will be found in your C:\Program Files\Battlefront\DropTeam directory by default or wherever you installed the game on your computer. 7c. For T-72 Balkans on Fire! add "core.exe". That file will found in your C:\Program Files\Battlefront\T-72 Balkans on Fire\bin directory by default or wherever you installed the game on your computer. 7d. For Theatre of War, add "tow.exe", "towsetup.exe" , "triggercompiler.exe" and from the MissionEditor directory, add the "Editor.exe". Those files will be found in your Theatre of War directory. 7e. For the Combat Mission Games, add "CM Afrika Korps.exe" for CMAK and add "Barbarossa to Berlin.exe" for CMBB and "CM Shock Force.exe" for CMSF 8. You also need to add "runservice.exe" to the DEP excluded list. That file will be found in C:\Windows 9. Click APPLY then Reboot and then relaunch the game. Sample of what the DEP page should look like for Strategic Command 2. Last Updated ( Friday, 26 October 2007 )
  21. Our first expansion module for Combat Mission Shock Force, titled CMSF Marines, is nearing its release date and to help showcase some of the new units, vehicles and features of the game, one of the projects beta-testers has prepared the very first in-game video sneak preview and submitted it as part of our ongoing CMSF Video AAR Contest, sponsored by Matrox TripleHead2Go. Composed of three video chapters, these new vids were captured from a beta copy of Combat Mission Shock Force- Marines and depict a USMC armed recon into some heavily defended enemy infested terrain. Since the videos come from a beta version of the game, please note that they may not be indicative of final game performance, graphics or sounds. Among other units featured in the videos are various models of the Marine Corps Light Attack Vehicle, or "LAV" including the 25mm cannon armed LAV-25 A2, the missile equipped LAV AT and the command vehicle variant, the LAV C2 A2. Read all the details and find links to download the videos here: http://www.battlefront.com/index.php?option=com_content&task=blogcategory&id=178&Itemid=234 Madmatt
  22. CMBO and ToW are completely separate games and share no code at all, so issues in one are unrelated to issues in another (although they could appear similar). Madmatt
  23. If you emailed us at the elicense address we should have gotten back with you. I don't know what email address you emailed us FROM though, did we get you taken care of already? Madmatt
  24. What version of ToW do you have? What I mean is where did you buy it specifically? There are now several versions of ToW on sale and some don't need the Uber Patch installed and others do, but you have to use the correct version. Madmatt
