Or maybe some people could use the search function like a big boy instead of getting other people to do it for them.

Can I use my uberTiger to blow up this train?
PseudoSimonds replied to ColumbusOHGamer's topic in Theatre of War
Pffft, then I'm not buying. I want my troops to be able to camp out in the Speisewagen.  -

Can you enter the trains? -
I think that's right. I think it was the range at which it would start engaging or sumfink.

New WWII RTS game Theatre of War announced
PseudoSimonds replied to Madmatt's topic in Combat Mission Shock Force 1
They're separate games. ToW (developed by 1c) is real time, whereas as CMSF (developed by BFC) will allow you to play WEGO or real time. We haven't been told yet whether PBEM will make it in or not. -
So you're saying you're going to give them bad advertising just because they didn't make the game that you wanted them to? Even that is a load of crap since the WWII game is already scheduled to be the second title. And of course you've already determined that the WEGO/real time hybrid system won't work. Why? Who knows, because like the rest of your arguments it isn't based on any logic or knowledge of what the game will be like. Oh, and you still haven't addressed whether BFC is out to make a money grab with CMSF or whether they're making a game that nobody wants. I'm still confused about that one.

Definitely a Brummbar. Shame on Moon. </font>

Ah, I see you've jumped right to the nuclear option. We're ready:

Verdammt noch mal, nicht schon wieder das Geplauder auf Deutsch!

For those of you who don't check the blog.

So on one hand they're just going for the money and on the other hand they're making a game that nobody wants. Well, which is it? And what's with this arrogance that they owe you anything? If anything you owe them for selling you a game that had waaaaay more bang for the buck than the vast majority of games out there. They're a company, not your personal little elves, here to do your bidding. Get a grip.

Is this going to be another "G.I. Combat"...?
PseudoSimonds replied to Charlie901's topic in Theatre of War
Here it is, from the CM:SF forum: Not as funny as GI Combat. Markus, that was truly embarrassing. </font> -
Oh I see, they don't need my extensive knowledge of the Volkstrumm, do they. Some game this is gonna be. Hmpff.

Banjos? I don't think so. The Yokelfaust didn't make it into action until very late in the war, if at all. Those accounts are sketchy at best. </font>

They originally had bagpipes in the game but they had to take them out because they had trouble correctly replicating the animations of the other soldiers covering their ears and screaming in terror. During testing there were also frequent AI problems with the other soldiers in the company turning on their piper and executing him. There are no plans on adding it in as a patch later, and no plans on even revisiting the issue. Ever. All computers that have run the bagpipe version of the code have been destroyed.
-
Well, the uniforms in that painting may be correct but I think you'll find that Volkstrumm units were more commonly armed with the Ohrenschreck:

Who the hell is that? People who play the guitar? </font>

It must be in the print version, not in the online article.

Infantry was abstracted? Hmm, doesn't seem too realistic to me. I can't believe I actually played that game when it wasn't even totally realistic. Sarcasm aside, it's not as if I don't wish that some of this stuff were in the game. It's just that I realize that realism isn't an either/or proposition and so even with its compromises ToW should be high enough on the realism spectrum for me to get some good wargaming out of it. And then perhaps some of this stuff can be added later to make it even better.
-
Then why didn't they just add the animations? It wouldn't have taken that long, maybe 20 minutes or so. *plays frisbee with CM cds*
-
Hey, I just realized that there was no melee in CM either. I think I'm going to sell all 3 games now that I've seen that they made compromises to total realism.
