I disagree with some of what you said. The guys I watched, and took a screenshot of, did not choose poorly. They ran from a dangerous place to one that provided much greater cover.....at least for the 15 turns that I watched them. They chose very well.

There isn't a button for that. What I do when I want to test visibility is take a unit and use the Target command and see how far out it goes across open ground.

No. Unfortunately, there is no ability to transfer a purchase from one account to another or to merge accounts. I've seen people with 6 different accounts. Oi vay.

HHmmm....I looked at the unit you've mentioned and I'm not sure that I see anything wrong. 2. Plt, 2nd Squad/B team. I focused on them. They were taking a lot of fire. They were out of C2. The team leader has a -1. They returned fire until they took a casualty. Then they ran downstairs and out the back of the building and ran behind another before getting cover behind the wall. They then all got prone. I played out the next 15 turns and they didn't get a scratch. That is the definition of seeking better cover, right? Additionally of note, in the building next to them is 2. Plt, 1st Squad/A Team. They were also on the 2nd floor of their building taking the same amount of fire as 2. Plt, 2nd Squad/B team but they didn't take any casualties until about 10 minutes later. And like the other team, they did not move down from the 2nd floor until they took a casualty. Then they went down to the 1st floor but did not leave the building. The bottom line of what I saw was that it was working as I'd expect it to.

That is my history too. Peng and I would play that because we no longer lived close enough to play ASL anymore. Once the CM1 beta demo came out we never looked back.

The home page will always be "lates" rather than "news". That is by design and on purpose. First the pre-order people are contacted. Then, usually 8 to 24 hours later a forum post is made. Then, days after that, an announcement is made on the home page. It's a progressive rollout to try and mitigate slow download times. It was even more important with Cold War because Fire and Rubble and it's patch were released within a week of Cold War. Internally we call it a "soft rollout". It's a feature, not a bug.

Correct. There will be a time when I remove the download link for a FR purchase, as I did with Rome to Victory, because if you're patched up all you need to do is activate the module to "unlock" the content.

I just got a Help Desk ticket from someone saying that a bridge bug was making the game unplayable for him. He sent along a saved game file from the Last King if Berlin scenario with the Tiger in the middle of the bridge. I suspect that he was saying that the Tiger wouldn't cross the bridge. I gave it a movement order and it finished crossing without a problem. I'm waiting to hear but from him but I'd bet that he didn't have the v2.11 patch installed yet. If that's the case than the fix was more encompassing than the specific Redwolf situation. I hope that expands on my first reply.

No. Definitely not an expected outage. And, for good or ill, not limited to us.

All that I know is that what was fixed was something specific in the PBEM turn that Redwolf sent. So, it's hard for me to say if it fixed "a" bridge bug or "the" bridge bug. I don't know how it would affect the other games. If it does it will definitely be in a future patch.

You were actually done at this point. The download link in the 4.0 Upgrade is an all-in-one installer. Nothing else needs to be downloaded or installed. It installs the base game and every patch, module and Upgrade in a single download. The patches have never had the all-in-one installers. They are best for people who are up to date with their installations, have metered internet and only need the patch..not the full installer. And the links are all working on my end.

2nd and Bainbridge and a few years in Old City for me. Still have my Eagles season tickets.

Just to make sure that we're clear......Do not download and run a patch from inside any Combat Mission game's directory. I usually run my patch and installers from my Downloads folder. While installing you'll be prompted to "point" the installation to the correct folder (it defaults to the default main game installation folder).
