Or maybe a Stuka?

Would they stop for a bunch of bananas? Mace
 2. Never fear, Mace is here! I suspect I will have some news of the demise of my evil-gamey-nemisis, Sir OGBF....WXYZ....1234.....Whatever ( *shrugs* ) as our ubergame draws to a close. However, I have the joys of some 9 hours or so of work ahead of me (Blah!!!..I say again BLAH!!!!) before my return to home, family, and that which I hold so dear to me, my PC, and the discovery of the game's outcome. And on other fronts, I'm winning, except where I'm loosing! And a special salute to dame Kitty, who with I spent the weekend blowing up stuff and making things 'splode', all outside the provincial town of Carentan. Mace
 3.
quote:
Originally posted by Hakko Ichiu: And everybody knows that if there were no Canada it would be necessary to invent it so that we white, American males could have somebody upon which to heap abuse without being accused of racism.

There'll always be an England! (excluding Scotland of course, we don't want to offend Emma. David though, he's fair game!) Mace
 4.
quote:
Originally posted by Mannheim Tanker: The FAQers couldn't help but notice that Maxipus didn't even leave a storyline for the next poster to latch onto. The shame, the horror, the sheep...

...which in this context could be perceived as a bad thing, when everyone knows that sheep are fluffy and cute. Oh, so...very...cute! *drools* Thier firm bodies surrounded by a glorious coverage that is a delight to run one's fingers through. The feeling is much like....
 5.
quote:
Originally posted by MrSpkr: Nothing like Southern hospitality. (sliding bottle to Iskander) Here you go - a bottle of Southern Comfort (what else), one Southerner to another.

And you can't get much further Southern than Australia(you know the drill...Australia Australia we love you etc etc etc). Well you could get further south, but work with me here people!!! Anyway, where's my bottle? I do like the wee nip of a Southern Comfort with Coke...about 95% SC, 5% Coke. Mace
 6.
quote:
Originally posted by Berlichtingen: there is no way in Hell you are going to convince right thinking people otherwise.

So i've convinced you then! Good. Mace
 7.
quote:
Originally posted by Speedbump: Save it for your sheep you, you...Pommie!

PINCH!!!! Now why don’t you go something constructive - something you’re good at, slowing down traffic by being run over.
quote:
Originally posted by Berlichtingen: Kinda hard not to... you look alike, act alike, and bloody well sound alike. Pommie, Aussie, same damned thing

Yah, the reason we sound alike to you guys is that you use the same lame American actor doing the sitcom voice-overs for an Aussie or a Pom! Either that, or the flames of Hades has melted your hearing aid. Mace
 8. Parade drill has it's place, but not in CMBO IMHO. If you study any literature, troops didn't move into the battlefield in a tight parade, but in dispersed fashion. This limited the likelyhood of a well placed artillery shell or sprung ambush taking out the whole unit.
 9.
quote:
Originally posted by Joe Shaw: do we have Australia down as a goober nation

Most visitors from your fine *chortle* country say Australia (bolded again for yadda yadda yadda) is like the USA in the 50's as far as community interaction is concerned. That means you have some 50 years of 'gooberness' in advance of us! Mace
 10.
quote:
Originally posted by Speedbump: After all, they are just Poms at heart!

You can question the morals of our mothers, you can steal our wives or worse yet our beer, but you can never, never confuse Aussies (bolded to show respect to the Greatest country on this Earth....Australia, Australia we love you!)with Poms!!!!! Do that again and I'll give you such a pinch! Mace
 11.
quote:
Originally posted by Joe Shaw: It is perfectly obvious to ANYONE with half a brain that the NORTHERN Hemisphere, the CORRECT Hemisphere, is ON TOP, ABOVE, HIGHER while the SOUTHERN Hemispere, the home of Australia is BELOW, UNDERNEATH, LOWER.

Thankyou Joe, After your brilliant summation, it's all so perfectly clear. Everyone who resides in the Northern Hemisphere only has half-a-brain. Mace [ 08-24-2001: Message edited by: Mace ]
 12.
quote:
Originally posted by Joe Shaw: IF ... and it's a great IF ... you ever show a spark of the requisite qualities that make me enjoy a game with, say, Mace ... well that and the fact that he has the tactical ability of a sponge

Some points: xxi) You enjoy a game with me? You have now cheapened my experience of the MBG (Mother beautiful Game)! 23) Tactical ability of a sponge? Well at least I can wipe up your mess on the way to the VFs. Mace
 13.
quote:
Originally posted by Joe Shaw: you seem to be taking this too seriously and that doesn't make for a fun game.

Actually, I'll vouch for Stixx, he's not a bad player and a *shudder* nice guy for a SSN. The only character fault he has is his aversion for anyone older than he is. I think that will subside once he's weaned from the bottle, gets out of the bassinet and is finally potty trained! Mace PS. Stixx, deposit that $50 in my account tomorrow will ya?
 14.
quote:
Originally posted by Joe Shaw: Whose turn would you like? I have turns for Mace, MrSpkr, Seanachai, Berli and a few others. But since I'M NOT PLAYING YOU RIGHT NOW I'll have to rely on those you French goober. Joe

Time stamp 3.09am! Joe Shaw, I'm impressed by your staying power! Mace
 15.
quote:
Originally posted by Joe Shaw: Mace this is your doing isn't it? Flooding the Pool with Australian SSNs as part of THE Conspiracy eh, well you won't get away with it pal. Your little plan has been foiled again ... Bwahahahaha

It's not as simple as that...wheels within wheels within wheels!!!! Muahahahahahaha...ha.....hahahaha.. ....*Cough* *Sputter* Mace
 16. Hey, DoooooOOOOoood! Great to see the complete lobotomy was a success. The brain was wasted on you anyhow! Welcome back! Mace
 17.
quote:
Originally posted by OGSF: Mace as bin killin' mah poor laddies daid. Firrst hae catches tha bleedin ' lot o' em ain a stankin' artillery barrage, thain procaids tae bayonet tha survivors. Bastaarrd. Ah'm gettin' sick o' at. Af'n hae ever returns tha last file, Ah'll prolly surrender.

Bugger! I owe you a turn? And I thought I had broken Sir NameofsomeWelshtownwhichisreallylongandunpronouncable morale to such an extent that he had stopped sending the files. I humbly apologise for this oversight, and I will send the next file in the sequence (Yes, Elvis, I number and am proud of it) on my return to home. Don't thank me, It's the least I can do, especially if it means the eventual humiliation of Sir AsfathonableastheDeoxyribonucleicacidsequence! Mace
 18.
quote:
Originally posted by dalem: On the Outerboards someone is talking about an 8000 point game. 8000 points. 8000 points.

Yah they're nothing but Amateurs, I've got one going with 10000 points per side...pushing the limits of the game engine, the capabilities of our respective PCs, the internet (as multi-megabyte files are exchanged), and our respective life spans (bets are we'll expire before we finish this). Mace
 19.
quote:
Originally posted by Joe Shaw: Mace, with the conniving assistance of a horrid scenario created by Goanna, is taking absolutely forever to make a move. I suspect that his glacial pace is influenced by the amount of snow in the scenario.

A very correct summation there Joe Shaw. Every time my uberhamstertruppen take 2 steps, they fall down in a heap exhausted and decide it's much more fun making snow men or writing their signatures in the snow the way men normally do in that situation. Btw, did I see an 'F' word somewhere above? In that case: This Peng Challenge thread has been rated R. SSN of any age are unable to attend (ie SOD OFF!) Mace [ 08-20-2001: Message edited by: Mace ]
 20. I'm not particularly fussed with the exclusion of cavalry units from CMBB. Why? Because I wouldn't buy cavalry units when selecting forces for a Quick Battle (which I seem to play the most) when my opponent could be buying AFVs....and I'm quite happy to buy trucks or HTs to pull gun pieces around mainly because they can get the gun piece from one part of the map to another far quicker. So Horses serve no purpose for me (although I must admit having them available for historic scenarios may be interesting) Mace
 21.
quote:
Originally posted by MrSpkr: "golf balls. 'FORE!' MrSpkr shouted as he swung through. Crud! Sliced again! I really need to work on my game. Or at least I should . . ."

...'stop teeing off from the middle of a daisy-chained mine field' 'It's murder on my'....
 22. The developers are well aware of the contribution horses made in getting the majority of the German Army from point A to point B but...
quote:
Posted by Steve back around January Combat Mission is just not set up for horse. There would need to be special TacAI just for them, and that would be pretty tough to do. The modeling of the horses, graphically, would be a big undertaking. Remember, we have to program in behavior patterns. Legs don't inherently know they should stick to the torso and foot We would also have to come up with some sort of way to simulate mounts being shot out from under otherwise intact riders. With a horse "squad" unit and a rider squad unit, that would be very tough. Because of these and a few other reasons, no horses for the Eastern Front. As the quote of mine posted above says very well, we understand that they do have a place on the Eastern Front, but it is simply too small for the effort needed to simulate them. Therefore, no dice.

Mace [ 08-18-2001: Message edited by: Mace ]
