  1. One reason the IDF won't be in game is the same reason the IDF wasn't in the 1st Gulf War. If the IDF would attack Syria all the bases for the US in the Arab world would suddenly go away. The US would apply serious pressure on Israel if they so much hinted at getting in the way.

That and the IDF has a real image problem and making a game about them could get ugly for BFC.

But yeah, I'm not to big on a Marine expansion either. I'd rather the see Brits and German/Dutch.

As has been said before RTS is definitely the way BFC wants to go. I'm presuming it's to broaden the commercial appeal of the product.

Except by Battlefront themselves, which somehow seems relevant.

So try not to present speculation as fact. It's misleading and untruthful. </font>

  4. Hoi en welkom!

By all means ask someone you know if they can purchase it for you. Though I too wish BFC accepted Paypal.

Or become a beta tester, I heard that worked for one creditcard-less Dutchman. :D

    *edit*

Gosh, Paradox, forgot all about them. don't listen to me, listen to Steiner! It should be in stores round about now. Try the small stores first, often Free Record Shop and Bart Smits selection is not that good and/or often late.

  5. But he doesn't want them to stop when fired upon. He wants them to take some form of cover or protective stance, return fire and continue advancing until they spot something.

Of course, there is a way to make the engine do what you want. Try the "assault" order, but put tiny stretches of "hunt" in between, as and where the situation required. And that's sorta my point. There is no way CMSF can read your mind and do exactly what you want. It will do exactly what you order it to do. If you want complex behaviour exactly the way you want it, you have to issue more complex orders.

No it's not. The worst thing you can do is to continue "sneaking" ahead like you were not under fire and do it in the open and yell to your squad to look at the flanks! Have you seen this in game? Try it and you'll get it. If they would sprint to cover it would be different. But now they still go on in their "duck-walk" like nothing happened, while the whole squad is killed 1 by 1.

So in short, you gave the wrong order for the given circumstances. Try "Assault", it'll be what you are looking for. Stop expecting "Hunt" to read your mind.
  7. Problem with going by cost is, amongst others, this: You give me Javelin armed squad, and I can easily wack two if not three T-72s. So you need to make Javelins more expensive, or make T-72s significantly less expensive. Result: you'd get less Javelins then even vaguely realistic, or whole squadrons of T-72s in even the smallest QB.

Every piece of kit has to make some sense costwise related to all other equipment out there, without ending up with bull**** values. If you can do this, by all means make a list for BFC.

    *holds breath*

  8. I'm not sure I understand. You complain about your soldiers on "Hunt" continuing to advance when shot at by an unseen enemy? Staying in place while you are under fire from an unseen enemy is the absolute worst you can do.

CMx1 "Hunt" was never return fire and keep moving. It was exactly the same as current "Hunt" with the exception that they get under way again should the enemy disappear. That wouldn't have saved your squad from your example, as they were being shot to pieces before you even spotted them.
