The best scenarios and ops!

Sadly, the models for Zooks, Schrecks and mortars are hardcoded (and butt ugly) so no mods for them. A complete gridded terrain mod has been done and is at CMMODS. Look under CMBOs most recent files.

Yes, but unlike the other CS tanks, it still uses the 2lbr model. Can a 3in. Howitzer form be grafted on to it? Also, what's up with the pointed-headed Commonwealth types (no, not Dorosh!) --- those helmets are just a bit too distracting. And speaking of helmets: I like the French OG-style helmets, but why did they have to code the Company level commander wearing one? Wanted to see a blue and red officers kepi there. </font>

Hmmmm. My efforts to convert from modslutism has failed miserably. I've shortened the barrel a bit, there were two options in doing it. Either delete the muzzle brake completly, ending up with a barrel wich is obviously too short. I tried deleting to the regular length only but the enlarged muzzle end, while not as annoying as I feared did float in mid air unattached to the gun. It's only visible at certain angles only, it was enough to annoy me. And both version had a roughly hexagonal, slightly opaque plate hovering in front of it. Couldn't find where the muzzlebreak front was located so couldn't pink it out. Maybe a more experienced hand at modding might take a look at it but I fear there is no real satisfying way of deleting the muzzlebreak. BTW The muzzlebreak was first added in late 42 when the supercharge was increased. The muzzlebreak prevented damage to the gun from the increased oomph. It only was widely added to guns in 43 though and am assuming that most guns in NA remained muzzle-less. I'm more then a little puzzled why BFC decided on portraying the muzzlebreak variant (Mk2/1) because just when the muzzlebreak was added the 25pdrs direct fire role was more or less played out. Therefore seems logical to me the plain version would be used.

Assault on Longstop? Consider your plug succesful, I think I'll kick the tyres of that scenario then. It better be good.

I too seem to remember seeing pictures of MkIs in Tunesia. As usual I can't back this up with actualreferences due to my book collection being bigger then either my memory or my will to look it up. Strange that MkIs would show up later then MKIIIs, though.

No Cromwells at all. Particular pitty about the Cromwells, they were a nice change from the eternal Sherman wich now dominates Allied play in Italy. And now the only 95mm goodness comes in the form of a Churchill, wich lacks the speed to properly spring a surprise upon Panthers. But who wants to play with late war Cromwells when you can romp around the desert sands in A13s and Crusaders?

Making a good first impression.
Elmar Bijlsma replied to Elmar Bijlsma's topic in Combat Mission: Afrika Korps
First impressions count, so to make sure I wouldn't go all petulant as my units get destroyed I fired up a pure armour QB as the Brits v Italians. Pure armour for the Italians is kinda harsh in and of itself so I used an Axis +200% setting. I then had MkVI, A9, A10 and A13s tangle with the M13s. I don't think I even saw one single richochet. I was surprised with the MkVI. I fast moved them real quick towards the Itailans and once they got in amongst them they were wolves among sheep. They absolutly slaughtered the Italians! First impresion was GOOOOOD!!! [ December 04, 2003, 03:40 PM: Message edited by: Elmar Bijlsma ] -

I am a bit surprised to see the MK I Churchill share .BMPs with the other marks, thus depriving it of portrayal of the hull 3 inch howitser. Pity, I thought BFC would be keen to show of their dual gun vehicles. BFC please fix or do somefink. No wait, on second thought please fix.

CMAK ( BFC version ) arrived in Holland :-)
Elmar Bijlsma replied to Monty's topic in Combat Mission: Afrika Korps
Woooot! My sister just called, a package had arrived. I guess it was sent to the billing adress afterall. Delaying my receipt of ther game by the humongonormous time span of 5 hours! Grrrrr! Kidding. I'm just happy I can now hop on my bike and pop over to my sis. I think she was quite derogatory about my frantic "I'll come right over, I'm coming over right now!" Oh well, with CMAK ariving I won't see her for atleast a week anyway, so who cares. -

I KNEW something looked different...

Yesss! You don't know how much of a lifesaver that is for me. Even if I preview my posts, the second I click on 'add reply' I will see a dumb typo. -
Unit list for CMAK?
Elmar Bijlsma replied to Homer The Doomer's topic in Combat Mission: Afrika Korps
Pity, unless I'm mistaken no AA tanks for the Brits. The Staghound with it's twin .50s isn't doing much for me, I was hoping for atleast a 20mm platform. Anyone care to tell us if the larger calibre guns made it in? Love to see 4.5 inchers included. -

But I thought they fixed it earlier or maybe that was just on the GF? So what made Madmatt renew his bid for increased glory? As for illicit drugs being involved in my earlier post... impossible. I don't think there are any drugs illicit here in The Netherlands. Welcome back Kwazydog! We still love you even if Madmatt does not!
