  4. David, Nope. What would be an untenable objective? Just trying to define it alone would be impossible for the AI, much less determining if it could or couldn't. An objective could be touch a location. {yep, I have had fun setting up scenarios with that). There is a player platoon now in its spot, how do we determine if the AI goes for it or not? If it doesn't what happens if the platoon moves away? The decision tree alone would require months of coding. Basically what you are asking for is very involved, and not very likely. Security guard, you are thinking in CMX1 terms, something everyone is going to have to forget. I can set the troops to "hide" untill a line is crossed or timed that at the 3:30 mark, they pop up and ambush at 75 meters. The biggest adjustment for the scenario designers I invited was to forget what they learned with CMX1. Rune
  5. Nope, not very realistic, and think about it, Group A might be attacking from the east, and group b from the West. if it changed groups, how would it get there? Rune
  6. The 100.65 is buggy as sin. Try the 101.70 available at guru3d.com and let me know if it helps or not. Rune
  7. Nope, I got the unit wrong fromn a article I read. The Matildas should not be either, based on a photo I had of a unit which was mis-dated. Rune
  8. No, not yet. Some changes going into the editor and you will have to be patience a little longer. Rune
  9. As a scenario designer, I can "program" the AI to behave certain ways. For example, if plan a is picked [by the ai at the start of the scenario], I could have a group of Syrians wait in ambush, but if Plan B is picked, as soon as the Americans are sighted, they can open fire. If plan C is picked, I can have the Syrians hide, then move or assault a different position. So, along with the Ai being smarter, I can tell it what I would like for it to do.. The same scenario may NOT play out the same way, then again, it is random and may play the same way. It works, and it works well, but I am not going to give specifics, as things may change with the amount of goodies or other internal things. I actually got Charles to stop coding with a scenario I created using the AI, and to play it. Don't worry, I won't do that often. Rune
  10. Elmar is a tester and is correct. Rune
  11. Well, if you look there are safeguards. If you forget the blow away elicense then you send a message to Battlefront, they confirm you bought and reset the license. Seems pretty easy to me. Rune

    Airfileds

I know in North Africa, there was an attack on an operating airfield during the early war years. I think the scenario I made was put on the CD, I don't remember. Also another scenario I made was basically the same, a British parachute drop gone wrong when they attacked an operating airfield, led by none other the Col. Frost. Rune
  13. Mace! MACE!!!!! When did you move to North Carolina? On CNn right now: Sheep seized from home Authorities take away more than 70 sheep from a man's North Carolina home. WTVD's Shae Crisson reports Even has a video for you. Rune
  14. Because I have tested every Microsoft product since Windows 3.1. I am a member of a select group that sees everything Microsoft makes. I get to pick and choose what I test. Since new computers are shipping with Vista, isn't it good to know if ToW, CMSF, SC2, etc etc work with it? However, you are right, I don't recommend going to Vista yet, there are still problems with drivers, especially the 64 bit drivers. You have to search to find sound drivers, the Nvidia 64 bit drivers are still flaky at best, and I DARE you to find a Belkin wireless Vista driver, especially for 64bit. *Sigh* Rune
  15. I warn you, IL2 1946 can be a pain to run under Vista, while some people have gotten it to run, I still have not had a successful install. Yeah, I know NOT to run the setup, you have to run the command a, but once installed it still will not run. *Sigh* Rune [ March 27, 2007, 04:51 AM: Message edited by: rune ]
  16. Yep, playing a multiplayer game right now, a Vista Ultimate 64bit vs a Vista Ultimate 32 bit system. Running great on both computers. You absolutely MUST have the newer drivers, the ones that ship with Vista broke a bunch of games, abd actually are updated after install if you do an auto update then apply. Rune
  17. Steve, Go here: https://peosoldier.army.mil/pmequipment/faqs.asp Seems things aren't final yet, but answers a lot. Rune
  18. LAN play is built in. We used ICQ and MSN Messenger to test multiplayer during beta testing, it works just fine. Rune
  19. I have an AMD and I had a stutter and lag problem until I changed from dual core to use single processor. Once I did that, I had no problems with lag playing 2 players from Russia and another here in the States. Rune
  20. DoTs? So Seanachai had a communicable disease AGAIN? Leeeo , I just asked madmatt to be sure anything you order goes out via Sturmy's address. Sturmy may want to include something for you. Rune
  21. I have Vista 64 and a 7800 card and have no issues. It may be something with the 8800 and the nvidia driver. What version of the driver are you using? Rune
  22. Since development began years ago, before Vista and DX10, the short answer is no, it will not support the shader in dx10, which is only available in Vista. Remember, this is based a modified IL2 engine. Rune
  23. Latest build...but who said the latest buil;d was the final build? As Moon said, the translations will be in after all the code changes are checked. Soon my young padawan, soon... Rune
