  1. Speaking of smoke. Do the Syrians have arty smoke? I got hit by a barrage and towards the end several smoke rounds hit the target area.
  2. You mean you haven't seen them yet? I think they unlock when you have one M1 kill all the vehicles in the scenario.
  3. Has anyone been able to tell if there are drainage ditches on Syrian airports? It seems that every airfield I have ever seen has them even in the desert where they are good for catching FOD.
  4. Someone on this forum has to know a former German tanker. Where the heck is Andreas when you need him?
  5. Maybe since you can't call for smoke they decided to have it just appear at random so that we can't say they didn't put it in. I'm just saying.
  6. The members of the sniper team seem to behave like members of a standard fireteam. The only time those guys should be firing is in an extreme emergency.
  7. I have tried it both ways. Letting them sit results in everyone except the sniper firing. His status never moves from "spotting" while the other members of the team are all blazing away. Attempting to assign a target only got me an "out of LOS" message even though the target line was bright blue and I could do an area target to that location.
  8. I'll have to take a look at the scenario from the red side but I think they were mines rather than IEDs. My vehicles were under a "move" or "hunt" order so they weren't going very fast. At first I was thinking that they were just lucky or that it was an RPG miss. Once it kept happening I started feeling that something was wrong. The explosions went off directly behind the vehicles at a uniform distance of about 10 meters and left a pretty large crater. Even if they were AP mines they still should have gone off under the vehicle.
  9. I don't know if these were IED's or not. They all seemed to go off the same distance behind my vehicles.
  10. Interesting. I have yet to have a vehicle get stuck or refuse an order. All my problems seem to be with infantry.
  11. I have noticed that vehicles do pop smoke now. One of my M1s and two Strykers popped smoke which was nice. I did notice two strange things though. I noticed random smoke appearing on the battlefield. I noticed a white smoke round in the middle of an 81mm mortar barrage, 1 in the middle of a 155 barrage and 1 that I think was fired from a tank. I don't know if they were supposed to be dust but they were fluffy white clouds. I also noticed something strange with what I think were mines. I had several vehicles roll through an enemy position that was reported to contain mines. As the vehicles would roll through there would be an explosion behind them leaving a crater. No incomeing tracer or even any enemy with that kind or ordinance (I checked at end game) left on the battlefield. The result was that 4 or 5 of my vehicles had these delayed mines go off behind them but none of them suffered any damage. I have run into IEDs before but they always went off right under the vehicle, at least in 1.01. I did have one MG team run across one of these mines, after a company of tracks had run over the same area by the way, and it went off while they were on top of it causing two casualties.
  12. Maybe they farted. Or perhaps they are pulling security. I haven't noticed this one but I have noticed that when I send MG teams to a roof they tend to split into two teams with one facing the front and the other facing the rear. Unfortunately the 240 is not always with the guys in the front. With snipers, I don't think I have seen a sniper fire yet. I had one case where I put a M110 team on a roof to provide overwatch. The team members with the sniper were merrily firing away at various targets but when I try to target one of those units I get a no LOS message. Maybe there needs to be an order for the sniper to take the dust covers of his scope. I have seen this repeatedly with everyone except the sniper firing away.
  13. Just had an incident while clearing buildings in the factory attack. I ordered two squads to attack a section of the building. They entered ok and then got stuck. Most of the soldiers were "spotting" according to the status listing but 2 in each squad were stuck "planning." Clicking on the units showed that they still had the movement line from their auto adjust or whatever that little adjustment is that they make. Any new orders were added onto this movement line and there was no way to make it go away. Looking at the squads themselves showed that most of the soldiers were standing around scanning like normal but at lest 4 were frozen in the middle of the running animation. There were also two who seemed to be frozen in some other motion. All movement orders were ignored but an order to pop smoke was followed normally. Version 1.02. I have a save and end game file if you want them. System: 3 ghz Intel Core 2 D 2 gig ram Nvidia 7600 GS 512meg Windows XP Home SP2
  14. Hey Mike, which side of the airfield you guys on at Lewis? You still over there by Dragoon field? I lived there my first tour and then over by the Rangers my second.
  15. It's nice when your LT decides, "screw it I'm getting out to go into banking" and wants his going away photo up there. We took two tracks and parked them right in the middle of the damn thing. Yes it is still off limits so we made sure to disconnect our GPS first.
  16. I really like this one as well. Lots of tense moments trying to get those guys out of the trap. Looking forward to more of your work.
  17. Unless things have changed, the only one in the platoon who should use 7.62 is the 240 gunner. Everyone else should use 5.56 unless there is an M21 sniper.
  18. Thanks mate. I did a scenario for CMAK based on the Buff Howards at Robaa pass in Tunisia. I seem to recall that one of the SAS guys who wrote about the first Gulf War was originally a Green Howard.
  19. Any chance you knew a guy named Hule (can't remember exactly how to spell it but it is pronounced Hool, rhymes with cool)? I think he was in A Co, would have been a private at the time.
