  1. First and foremost the manual should be written with an eye toward the new to wargaming player. This game will attract many "gamers" who are not "War" gamers. Folks who have played lots of action games, ect. Me...total wargamer, don't know a thing about other types of games...But those who are new to wargaming may learn the fun that WW2 gaming w/all the accuracy ect can be.

  2. Edmund Morris used the technique out of "desperation", he said. Reagan apparently was not the type of person to share his thoughts with others. Remember the guy was an actor turned politician. When the lights turned on we got the vision of a President we all really liked... substance was, IMHO, lacking. Taking Edmund Morris to task is fair game. The book was not "terrible" in my judgement. Maybe it just showed you a picture of the Gipper you didn't care to see. You comments Re: MadMatt are actually irrelavent. The thread was started after some goofy comments by our CaptM. They hurt Matt's feelings and he spoke his mind...This is a communty here...a family if you will. Not all post are great, on CM-Topic. By the way did you read Edmund Morris's TR? You might find it a bit more to you liking.

  3. I've play several PBEM of CE (4?) I've played US each time. Three times I've slaughter the Stugs using Overwatch and 2-3 on one attacks... I guess you could say that those stugs I've been chewing on aren't worth a damn, right?. Almost finished with the fourth game...around tun 10...I evacuating my infantry (hopefully they won't all be killed) while my .50 MG (It does rock)covers them...And my 5 shermans?...Burning brightly....It's not the stugs, nor the shermans...it's not even lady luck (you do need a little in war) It's about tactics...I use the equipement the way they were used...Shermans did hunt in packs I am rewarded...I play Audie Murphy...I pay the big price....It's about my tactics...not the game engine...That's why this game is such a stand out

  4. I wonder I you were the fellow who posted on the subject of MG fire on the TGN Steel Panthers BBS. If so I'ld like to tell you thanks. I learned a great deal about MG fire and tactics. In any event, when CM does come out I hope you'll post your views. The Steel Panthers MG post raised great points regarding computer programing of MG fire.

  5. SS-Pzldr:

To answer your questions: Yes, I own a copy of CC2. Why ,yes, as you mention it it, I have arthritis. Not bad, I get along. As for your comment: "I note that you said I had some valid ideas but then you start talking about things I never said". Why you're right again. Everything I wrote had to do with what BTS has said...It's mission statement. Like you, I wish people would read the post carefully before they respond.

  6. Hi SS: I value what you say. I just think you're asking the wrong Company. I notice the Company's mission statement (which we all see when we log on to this discussion board)clearly states they don't wish to chase the "twitch crowd". I assume that means RT players. It seems to me that folks who are CC players want to make Combat Mission a CC game...only better. BTS says it wants to go in the direction it wants to go. BTS says it favors the few over the many. BTS Mission statement seems very clear. Atomic/SSI are the people to talk with. That company supports your views by producing RT games like you like. The ideas that have been presented ARE interesting and valid. As I'm certain we can all agree , there are many, many bright people on this discussion board. But they seem to me to addressed to the wrong forum (based on BTS mission statement). Perhaps RT players should consider Combat Mission a change of pace from their hectic schedules.
