  1. It depends. In the past the approval was fully automated, but it includes a human component now. Usually, files are approved within a day.

Having said that, there was one file which was NOT approved. Maybe that's yours? It was a CMSF battle, but the description field was empty. If that was yours, then please re-upload and make sure to fill in the necessary details.

  2. several times a small bush or very skinny tree blocked, for example, one of my BMPs from firing at a T-72 at almost point blank range (60 meters).

Keep in mind: Way more goes into LOS calculations than just figuring out if there is a bush or tree within the line of sight. Just because something can be theoretically seen (i.e. you can trace a LOS) doesn't mean that it automatically will be. As you well know, tanks and vehicles do not have 360 degree instant-vision all the time (in fact, not even infantry has).

In the game, fuzzy logic determines if something is spotted or not in addition to plain LOS checks. And the logic includes all sorts of things, such as buttoned up limited visibility, or even state of the crew etc.

  3. "Order Information No Orders to Display" is not clickable, because there are "No Orders to Display". Meaning, you didn't make any order with the account that you are logged in. Hence, there is nothing to click on.

You need to log in with the account that you made the purchase with. Accounts are tied to the email address you used. Go to www.battlefront.com/lostpw if you don't remember the login details (but you do need to remember which email address you used; if you don't try some that you think you may have used and see if it's recognized).

As Ian posted, if you need further assistance, please submit a ticket at www.battlefront.com/helpdesk.

  4. With each purchase, you get a license key. That key can be activated on up to two PCs at the same time, yes. So you can activate the game on a desktop and laptop at the same time with the same key.

If you want to activate on third, however, you would first have to UNLICENSE one of the previously activated games, and then RELICENSE on the third PC. There is no limit as to how often you can do this, i.e. you can UNLICENSE and RELICENSE as often as you like, but you can never have more than two copies of the game active at the same time with the same key.

I'll add the answer to the Knowledgebase at www.battlefront.com/helpdesk. While it's mentioned there in several articles, it is done so only in passing, and you're not the first to ask.

  5. I've fixed the title.

Trap 3 is a generic "catch all" error and can have many reasons. Check out the Knowledgebase article at the www.battlefront.com/helpdesk, it lists a number of possible solutions. Usually it's hardware or driver related I think. Ian or one of the 1C guys will no doubt be able to help you out with your ticket, make sure you check the ticket in the helpdesk for status/replies even if you don't get any emails within the next day or so.

  6. support@battlefront.com is actually parsed into the helpdesk automatically, and creates a ticket. If you do not get a response by email within 24-48 hours, the first step should be to log into the helpdesk (using the same email address you sent the email from) and check if there are any tickets there.

The Knowledgebase at www.battlefront.com/helpdesk actually has a comprehensive article about this and other useful things with regard to support and the helpdesk.

  7. StellarRat, have you actually submitted a ticket to the helpdesk via the helpdesk? Or have you checked the helpdesk if your emails have been already answered? We respond to every inquiry we get within hours. If you do not get an email reply back, then this means it's been blocked by your email provider, and you can look up the responses and the status of your ticket at any time by logging into the helpdesk.

  8. Pay attention to the key itself as well. It CAN have both O ("oh") and 0 (zero) for example, as well as 1 (one) and l (L). Usually, the way it's printed should make the distinction between the two possible if you pay attention to it.

If you still cannot do it, submit a support ticket at www.battlefront.com/helpdesk with what you think your key is, and we can doublecheck it for you.

  9. We're nearly out of print. Officially, we're out already, but US customers will still get a few manuals, our European warehouse is out already.

The info is shown (among other places) on this page (look to the right, next to the box image):

  10. What's amiss is that our ftp server is still not open for public access. We are in the process of reorganizing patch storage etc. for the public at the moment. Your best bet to get the patch for the time being I would think is patches-scrolls.de.

  11. Yes, it's back up and there are some changes in the backend you don't immediately see (yet). Two changes are visible already:

    - the displays for "Best rated files", "Newest Uploads", "Most downloads this month", and "Most downloads ever" now change with the category you're in. So if you look at the main Repository page, you get to see entries from all categories. If you click on "Combat Mission Shock Force", you then only see CMSF files, if you click on "Marines", you only see "Marines listings" etc. So this makes those short lists more useful.

    - "Top Rated Uploaders" on the left side is now listing uploaders differently then before. Now it's looking at the number of reviews first, then at the ratings average (instead of vice versa). So now, if someone has received 50 ratings for his files and has an average of 4.5, he will be shown "above" someone who has a 5.0 average, but only 5 or 10 ratings. Previously, it would show all uploaders rated 5.0 even if they only received one review before showing the next lower ratings; this resulted in a boring list of all 5.0-ers. The list is now more useful to visitors, and inherently more fair, because people who upload a lot have a higher chance of receiving a rating lower than 5.

Some other features and changes will be coming over time as well.
