There was an old book written 1985?
It was an account of what might happen in a cold war fight back then.
The main aspect which is true today is ammo depletion which the book discussed. Supply was the biggest issue with both sides running out of ammo in 7-8 weeks with fighting on massive fronts.
With MGs firing lotza rounds and all high tech ammo even with mass production supply couldnt keep up with demand.
So this game shows easily the ammo depletion of units.
My guys burned through 00s of rounds suppressing very fast.
One feature of this game id like added is where you can auto supply your troops with ammo from all vehicles purchased.
Option max out ammo. They need more ammo lol
AT launchers can can be at players choice.
Just makes it easier to kick off
Still love the game thou
I seem to recall this. Written by a UK AF General. The 3rd World War.
Additionally, Harold Coyle took that book and wrote a novel about a single tank battalions action in the fictional war.

Smoke if you got'em.

Looks like The Where's Waldo Mod for CMRT.

If you go to your account page at BFC, you can see your serial number and copy-paste. Much less chance of an error.
-
Mods are only for sounds and graphics. The game is developed to be as historically accurate as possible with respect units, munitions and, TO&E; thus no unit capability mods permitted.

YES!! until 1st shot is fired by the gun.My wish list for CMx2:- a camo net to hide AT guns and Flaks

Old-timey warfighting where the two sides lined up in ranks against each other and fired in volleys would be a tough sell.
I'd go for a 'retro' 1960s WWIII title. T-62s versus M60s and M48, Centurions and Leopard 1s. Halfway between WWII and high tech modern war. The problem with that, though, is WWIII would've probably gone nuclear pretty quickly.
Sounds like a 67 or 73 Arab/Israeli battle.

I bought my copy in 1972 and it had been out for over a year by then.

Christmas of 73 for me. Along with "Dark Side of the Moon." That was a good year indeed.

Yea, the non whiners are derailing this thread.
Great! Now we need a thread to whine folks that derail threads.

What is this "buldge" module/family? Is there a place that I can read about it?
It will get here some day (no predictions). I don't think there are any announcements yet. But plans for ETO from DEC 44 through VE day were talked about long ago.

That whole "surcharge" and "formation overhead" thang sounds like the fast talk at the end of Countrywide Loan commercial from 2007. taxes and insurance not included slightly higher in Alaska and Hawaii. Member FDIC.
I understand the variations in price due to random unit quality.
Can you explain surcharge further?

This applies more to Americans in CMBN. I wunder why there are no radios with the XO units?

A coworker that rode river boats in Vietnam told me of these radio transmissions he listened in on.
Platoon Leader: "Receiving fire."
Company Commander: "That's friendly fire."
Platoon Leader: "Receiving friendly fire. Returning same."
No one was injured.
