shafty
This looks like it is an incredible game btw my only question is: can a PC and Mac user play each other or can they only link up if they are both on the same platforms?
Schrullenhaft
You should be able to play an opponent regardless of platform. So a PC user can play a Mac user. Just be careful that no extraneous data gets included with the turn files (possibly .zip'ing the file may help).
poesel
I'm playing on a Mac vs PC players (wego). Never had a problem. Biggest file was 7,5MB. Zipping yields just a 5-10% reduction (I don't do it).
Schrullenhaft
The .zip'ing of a file in this case isn't for the sake of reducing file size, but to ensure that the file doesn't get messed up by some other process. It's not always necessary, but it may help in some situations if your opponent gets files that they can't load. It does add to the number of steps it takes to conduct a turn, which can definitely be a hassle, but again it is an option to maintain file integrity.

Mac v. PC has not been a problem for me on a Mac. Mail also has a checkbox to send Windows-Friendly attachments when you are choosing a PBEM file.
