  1. This looks like it is an incredible game btw my only question is: can a PC and Mac user play each other or can they only link up if they are both on the same platforms?
  2. Leto, Check out this site http://www.the-proving-grounds.com/
  3. Thought I'd pop back to ask if there was an update on TCP/IP turn based option (WeGO). Never liked the real-time two player and from some months back it was obvious that many felt the same. Is this imminent?
  4. What utter rubbish. Games are completely unlike music and movies because you would be a fool to go and see a partially finished movie and listen to a piece of music that has half the instruments missing. Who are you his brother? Shafty definitely out this time
  5. Ball, I (we) have heard it all before. Your absence was simply your decision to let all the complainers run out of steam and for you to pop back up again when it had died down. Pathetic. I gave the game away some months back. It is probably sitting on a market stall with a price tag of 99 cents (a rip off if you ask me). I have gone back to playing CMAK and CMBB with my wargaming friends and it is a delight. I am sure alot have done the same so that is probably why the forums are a little more friendly. Only your close friends and family are playing CMSF and posting. I wish you better luck and better sense for your next game. Shafty out.
  6. Cadmuim, you in UK. If so I can send you my copy.
  7. LongLeftFlank is right. Loved the other games and still play them. This one is a frustration and on so many levels. I figure give it 2 years then reinstall and patch up and see if we have a game yet ,or not!
  8. This realism argument is a bit ridiculous. We are extending coloured lines from our units, zoom/teleporting around the map, pause and replaying the action. Need i go on. It is a game to be enjoyed and if you think that for one minute you are closer to 'the real thing' because the game isn't split into minute chunks then quite frankly you are a delusional moron. It was a big mistake to drop the TCP/IP WEGO format but unfortunately is has become a bone of contention. If BF include it then they will have to admit that they were wrong. Sadly and clearly they are wrong but they are no-where big enough to admit it, otherwise they would have accepted it along time ago and there would have been plans already publicised to get it in. Alot are so frustrated because its omission has ruined what could have been a stonking game for them. Oh well, lets hope another company latches on to the discontent and releases a similar game with what people want. [ October 12, 2007, 12:29 PM: Message edited by: shafty ]
  9. Hopelessly outdated, says who and what is that view based on. Certainly not on the popularity of turn based online play. In fact the number of people who would love to play this game in the format that is by fay the best, you would think that it is far from hopeless and most definitely in vogue. (thanks to battlefront for showing us how much it enhances a strategy game such as this). If turn based is hopelessly outdated then throw out your chess and Go boards, why waste you time with such silliness.
  10. there is an TCP/IP 2 player turn-based option? Where?
  11. Still no WEGO. Why the hard nosed stubborn stance. It was a great feature of the previous game and obviously worth keeping in. It is like having no LOS tool and claiming that you have moved on from that and and in any case it is more realistic to have to adopt a 'soldiers eye' view to assess visibility. If I send back the CD with the cellophane packaging unbroken can I have my money back?
