xian
1. Is there anyway to tell whether a savegame is WeGo or RT without it being labelled as such by the player? 2. Why are some savegame images (from the same mission) shown with a dawn/dusk picture and others with a midday look? 3. Is there anyway to tell which turn the savegame refers to without it being labelled as such by the player?
Juju
Since we're talking about save games; I'm missing the autosave feature. I'm sure someone will come along shortly to tell me this wasn't in CM:SF either?

You wouldn't like it if it would interrupt you while you were in the middle of a complicated order, because everything is frozen while the save is in operation.
Juju
Ah. As a WEGO player I didn't consider that.
Erik Springelkamp
Ah. As a WEGO player I didn't consider that. I play WEGO as well, but saving at every turn takes too much time for me. (for a large scenario it can take about a minute). So I do it only once and a while, and then only in campaign scenarios, where a decent performance is needed to finish the campaign. In a stand alone scenario I rather break off and start again, or just accept that I have lost the battle.
xian
I like to save every turn because there is a high chance the demo will crash. No other reason.

That seems steep. Now, you mention large scenarios. What about the demo scenarios (on your machine, that is)? On my rig it takes 2 seconds to save those.
MikeyD
3. Is there anyway to tell which turn the savegame refers to without it being labelled as such by the player? Savegames are labelled .bts (for 'save') as opposed to .btt (for 'Ticonderoga') or .btc (for 'crustacean').
