Erwin.Rommel
I just use the mod tools of the CMSF open the data file of the CMBN and try to mod some sound of the game,to my surprise the Galand and K98 share the same sound file, I try to give the k98 a bolt sound after the shot, but this will make the sound of Galand very strange. So could this be changed in the full version of the CMBN?

Erwin.Rommel
A small update: The Tompson and MP40 share the same sound file as well as the MP44 and M1 carbine ps:they really make a "ping" for Garand
YankeeDog
Interesting. All of these weapons had their own sound files in CMx1. I'm hoping this is just a Demo thing, to reduce download size? Since BFC already had the separate sound files for all of the weapons in CMx1, it wouldn't seem to be that hard to just port them over to CMx2...
Sergei
A small update: The Tompson and MP40 share the same sound file as well as the MP44 and M1 carbine Tompson? Never heard of that... damn, flogging the dead horse makes the same sound as when DocMcJansen did it
Chad Harrison
So my question is whether they *have* to have the same sound or they just *currently* have the same sound? My understanding is that every single weapon in the game can have a unique sound - ie. its own sound file. Is that the case? I know previously that BFC correctly stated that no matter what sound they used for each weapon, 80% of the people would end of using a different one. I think that after the full game is released, you will see numerous sound mods that will allow someone to get what *they* feel like is the right sound for whatever weapon.

roadiemullet
Its probably not going to be just the demo hoho.. but I think the reload sound of the k98 is a separate sound file that the game plays after the shot so it shouldn't affect it really if you can cut your sound file in two - one with the shot and then the second half with the bolt reload. At least I think it is if my memory serves me correct. I ould have a look but I can't be bothered
Wengart
It will be really unfortunate if these weapons share the same sound file in the full game, and if they do hopefully BFC provides different paths for each weapon so modders can do them properly.
Soldat-Hans
I hope so. would be stupid if not. I would like to make different sounds for Garand and k98. So far I had to take the middle.
