"Run as admin" is not required for CMBN (unlike some of our older games). Moon Posted May 16, 2011 Share Posted May 16, 2011 A friend of mine had to wipe PC Tools Threatfire from his Win 7 64. After that the demo ran just fine. Prior, with Threatfire installed - no go. And yes, you have to deinstall it , turning it off doesnt help ... From the description on their website, PC Tools Threatfire seems to be using a lot of virtualization in their approach to protect your PC. Whenever you see something like "keyloggers", that usually means virtualization of one way or another. CMBN won't run in a virtualization environment. The whole virtualization approach can be useful, but the main problem is that many of these security programs don't shut it off when you disable the AV part of their protection. So you think that you disabled it and it's still not working, and one of these "additional" features is usually why.
