Dennis50
My AVG anti-virus just detected a threat when I connected to the chat room. Not sure if it is for real or not but it never happen before. Gunz

Elmar Bijlsma
We have a chat room? I thought that one went the way of the dodo years back. But could we dial down the hysteria? "Battlefront chat room virus" is a rather damaging thread title whereas I'm pretty sure it was merely an alert about Java or some such asking for access. At the very least insert a question mark.
Moon
Are you referring to the chatroom in the Battlefront toolbar? I noticed that there seems to be some kind of chatroom on the new facebook page, too, so I'm not sure. Anyway, we're not running any of these. I am sure it's like Elmar says and it was a false positive about some kind of script. Happens with AVG all the time.
Dennis50
Yes, the same chat room that's on the tool bar. Funny thing is... I have the tool bar installed but disabled. Just now I enabled the tool bar and AVG popped up with a Threat Detected. Same as with the chat room. It says the virus name is HTML/Framer. I'm thinking it's like you said a false positive.
Moon
Sounds like it. The toolbar is hosted, run and maintained by conduit. I have AVG and my firefox toolbar does not generate any alerts. Have you tried updating your signatures? Maybe they already fixed it.
Dennis50
Moon... I seem to remember that your a BIG guy... now this is the cool part... I just got a popup from AVG that to finish a important update to AVG I needed to reboot my system... and I clicked on the reboot now button. After the reboot of my puter I re-enabled my BF tool bar... No detected threat, hmmm. I then connected to the BF chat room... No detected threat from AVG, double hmmm. Moon... did you call AVG and give them a Threat Detected/Broken bones warning . Anyway it's gone now what ever you did. Moon
Hehe, no I didn't do anything. AVG probably figured this out all by themselves. There are hundreds of millions of conduit toolbar users (not kidding!) so I assume they got enough calls about this already.
Vergeltungswaffe
Yep, there was an update issue that caused this false positive from a ton of sources, so they got a fix out quickly.
