Newbie at Scenario editor trying to find 2nd version of Challenger 2

So I'm playing with the scenario editor for the first time trying to make a scenario used only for viewing one each of every British vehicle just like the scenario "the Dealership" does for the US Army and Marines and I'm trying to find the non enhanced version of the Challenger 2 as previewed and I'm not finding it under any unit. What obvious (or not) step am I missing?

Try using low quality units, you should get the earlier models

Thanks for the tip. I think I've found everything now except did the TUM Snatch 2 patrol vehicle shown in the previews make it into the final cut of the game however? I'm not finding that one.

No Snatch 2. From how I understood it, there was no place to shoe-horn Snatch 2 into the TO&E. They wanted the vehicle in but didn't want to just 'make stuff up'. There's a fair number of 'occupation'-centric vehicles that didn't get into the game.

About not finding the early Challenger 2. Try locating an early-version T-55 in the game, you'll need a Ouija board to locate it!

Thanks Mike. Also there's no Scimitars without slat armor, right? That was in the preview working vehicle list but even at poor equipment setting I can't find one.

Those vehicle previews actually predate the first Brit module Alpha. Best laid plans and all that. Some might recall the very first screenshots of the Stryker Brigade basegame included on-map 60mm mortar picts! You start out thinking you'll be able to get everything properly coded-up or shoe-horned somewhere into the TO&E, but every once in awhile there's a bump in the road.

You can simulate a Snatch patrol by dunking down a lot of TUM vehicles (Try using the Light Role Engineer Troop and removing the troops - That'll give you 6 vehicles to play with as a start)

Then just fill those TUMs up with whatever you want as your "patrol"

Not as heavily armoured as a Snatch would be (though thats not saying much) but it does the job.

I loved the Snatch model! It was very hard to accept it wasn´t going to be included. Sad. But that´s life!

Who does/did use the Snatch 2 then? Is this a parallel to the M1117 thread in that only MPs (or whatever the British equivalent are called) use it?

They're a kind of general use patrol vehicle, basically a version of the TUM thats hardened against small arms fire, and has a hatch for troops to give top cover from. The problem is they're not really organically assigned to any sort of formation - It's more often the case that a light rifle platoon will be given a few from their motor pool to use when patrolling about an urban area, or wherever.

As MikeyD said, they're a kind of "occupation" vehicle, for doing patrols rather than fighting for and capturing territory. They were originally developed for use in Northern Ireland by both the police and the army, as they could roll up, "snatch" a terrorist suspect or similar, and disappear away again at high speed, while being protected from stones, petrol bombs or (occasionally) small arms fire. The police here still use a version, painted white and with sirens.

But yeah, I was also disappointed to see they didn't make the final cut But realism is realism!
