This game blows... sorry

I can't even get the campaign to work. It loads, then a screen fades in over like 2 minutes, the same screen as before you click start, then the loading screen comes up and does nothing. I have to control alt delete to start.

The only that that worked was the multiplayer. I made a game, me vs one computer. I instantly noticed the lag. It runs horrable and you guys should do something to bring the frame rate up.

So I have 3 vehicles and a hand ful of men on a map with nothing but a few houses in the middle and some hills and trees. It took about 5 minutes to get over the first hill and half way up the second hill before Germans just popped up out of the blue and took out my guys. How did the know I was there when I can't see them? The maps are very bare for the amount of FPS I get, and the maps are pretty small they seam. Why is the FPS so bad?

I do like how each unit has a different name and other characteristics such as actual ammo, stats and stuff like that. Very cool. Also how the numbers seem to be realistic.

Just an idea, you should be able to create things such as sandbags, barbed wire, tank traps, place mines, and create buildings that can create more units. This said it would enable players to be able to play defensively or offensively. I'm the type that would build up my base and surround it with sandbags, traps and cover and defend from there. Just an idea.

Wish I could have gotten farther.. or into the game period, to play it more. Good luck with the sequel.

COH = TOW ?????

Is this a joke? If not then you are having some kind of tech support issue with the game for one.

For another, you don't know what fog of war is, expect buildings to build units in a squad level tactical wargame, and call multiplayer a game against one computer. I think you have a misconception about wargames that attempt to mirror realism.

TOW has alot of flaws, and it blows, but not for the reasons you pointed out. Maybe Company of Heroes is more to your preference of game play.

I was only comparing the amount of level detail.

It's impossible to run realistic tactical simulators at the same level of detail that arcade games like COH have. Games like COH are 99% about the visuals, and can make a LOT of shortcuts "under the hood" when calculating battle results etc. because all they care about is how it looks. They get away with a lot because they "fake" a much more complex combat model than they really have. As soon as you get into more realism (and TOW is simulating shot angles, armor penetrations and a TON of other things) and into more realistic engagament ranges, today's computers (where a lot of the processing power is assigned to pushing polygons) choke.

buildings that build more troops? oh no no no no no. NO!

command and conquer died a decade ago. it shoud've stayed dead. these RTS are just arcade games.

i wanna play kursk at prokherovka with tanks smashing into each other, troops running for cover, firing from hulldown tanks,realistic physics w the guns, speed of tanks, armour penetration. the games you are talking about you can put 3 BA64s and riflemen [w just rifles] against a tiger tank and destroy it with their MGs. ridiculous.
