Roter Stern
Well, judging by how no official release date has yet been announced for the new module, I'd say we're at least 2 weeks away. ...but that's ok, since I still have to finish both Space Siege and Mass Effect

Roter Stern
Why? What's happening on the 4th?
Paper Tiger
Nothing special. Just my guess that it won't be released before Friday 5th although I'd LOVE to be wrong. While I'd like to think it would be released on a Friday, I suspect that it's just as likely to become available in the early hours of a Tuesday morning (for me at any rate).

MeatEtr
Looking forward to play CMSF v1.10 and the Marines module. I guess I'm gonna be playing Steel Beasts ProPE this Monday. Hey man, whatever happen with the consumer edition of this, Steel Beasts 2? Was planning on getting it but as far as I know there's been no announcements or release date set. Just can't bring myself to pay $125 for the personal edition.
Chelco
Ey MeatEtr, Last time I heard, it looks like SB2 will not be launched this year. I hear you, $125 is a lot of money. But so far I don't regret it.
Chainsaw
Those 125USD are really nothing to spend... just like CM series you pay the cash ones and then plays the game for many years to come... so in the end you didnt really pay a dime for it. Im not gonna advertise for a different game on this games forum (unfair) but SB2 wont be around for many years to come, so if you want the updated Steelbeast and not the square box tanks SB gold you betther buy the SB Pro PE. /Chain
Chelco
I'm looking forward to several things in v1.10/Marines: -the action spot thing outlined when you plot a move -units hugging walls/corners and ridgelines -units moving and returning fire without coming down to a crawl
Cpl Steiner
I'm looking forward to several things in v1.10/Marines: -the action spot thing outlined when you plot a move I will be reserving my judgement until I actually see it in action because right now I'm worried it will be yet another nail in the coffin of "immersion". As I've always said, I'd prefer it if the underlying action grid was totally transparent to the user and just there for the game engine to do its stuff. That would mean no "snap to grid" area target lines, and no reorganisation of squads/fire teams to "conform to the grid" when they stop moving. I'm sure there are good reasons why it's been done this way but I find it hard to believe that more can't be done to reduce the visual impact of the grid on the user.
Chelco
That's a good point Cpl Steiner. It looks like in v1.10/Marines the troops will hug walls and building's corners better, but it will also depend on the relative position of the building to the grid. I thought knowing where the grid actually lies would be great to figure out where to (or not to) send troops in urban settings. Now that you mentioned immersion killers: for me the biggest one is the Red forces sending troops towards a pile of fallen fellow soldiers. I can only hope that the new "fire control on the move" TacAI update will make a more believable computer opponent.
