Winstanley1
This scenario can be found at: http://www.cmmods.com It involves a battle for a large hill in wooded terrain. Syrian tanks and infantry must ambush American vehicles and infantry as they advance through the woodland towards the hills summit. This requires a careful positioning of forces to avoid being overwhelmed, as the Syrian player is slightly outnumbered. I’d appreciate any comments and suggestions on how to improve this mission. Here are some screenshots: A shot of point103: An American tank is destroyed approaching the summit: Destroyed American vehicles on the road to the summit: Syrian infantry defending a trench in the woodland:

Webwing
Sounds great. I've downloaded. Just hope my poor old computer will be able to run it. All those trees, you know! --
Pandur
you are talented making nice maps! unfortunately, allthough i have a 7950gt, 2gbDDR, core duo and whatnot, the game wont run faster than it will run with this strange unidentified nvidia bug i really liked to try your Stalingrad mission, but its unplayable frames whise. in the longest day i can manage to play when i turn the camera off the mapedge for the minute realtime to watch the replay without problems afterwards. now i see this, it looks awsome too map whise, the battle itself isnt everyones taste maybe but i would really like to try it. damn, i hope the preformance will rise sometimes.
Winstanley1
Thanks for the comments on the scenarios. I’m thinking of cutting down the number of units and trenches in Point 103 to improve frame rates. I’ve realised the Humvees don’t really serve any useful purpose, apart from making your tanks waste ammunition. So I’ll probably delete all of them. I might reduce the number of Strykers slightly as well, although the T-72’s seem to destroy most of them pretty quickly. In fact I’ve begun to think this scenario is actually a bit unbalanced in favour of the Syrians as the Stykers, when controlled by the AI can’t really retaliate against your tanks, apart from occasionally immobilizing them from close range, if they manage to get to close range. I’m considering replacing all the strykers with another group of Bradley’s, which at least have a chance of destroying some tanks.
George MC
One other trick that saves frame rate is to avoid using 'three trees' to a tile. Only use em when you want that sort of cover. I've found that trees and large elevation changes are amongst the biggest killers of framerate. Cheers fur noo George
SgtMuhammed
Good tip. I have found though that 1.05 is much better at doing European type terrain.
