gibsonm
Perhaps its more a question of finding out when Vista works? Sorry couldn’t help it. Hopefully a Vista person can help.
SlapHappy
Well...yeah...It's a Vista and Nvidia driver problem.....has been for over a year. This one's not on BFC. Just google "nvlddmkm" and sit back with a cold drink and a snack for some heavy reading.
Splinty
I've had quite a few of those "nvlddmkm" crashes in CoD 4, CoH OF, and Ghost Recon. I have not had one from CMSF in any version.
c3k
Slaphappy and Splinty, You are both, of course, correct. The nvlddmkm issue is a video driver issue that both nvidia and ati (ati's has a different prefix, atiddmkm?) problem that they, the video manufacturers and microsoft, refuse to acknowledge. My criticism of BF.C in this regard is unfounded. My apologies. Regards, Ken
stikkypixie
Have you tried upgrading your drivers? It worked for me (I'm using Vista 64)
c3k
stikkypixie, Yes, I've tried up to geforce 169.28beta. At this point, I'm going to try a bit more digging around. The issue, a TDR error which shows as 'nvlddmkm' stopped responding (substitute ATI driver if you use their card) is a widespread Vista issue. Microsoft refuses to acknowledge it. It is widespread, yet there seems to be difficulty in narrowing down the elements in common. I was free of it for several months. Do you know any Apple dealers? sfhand
Have you tried turning off AA in game options? This solves the problem for me.
c3k
sfhand, Giving that a shot right now. Thanks, Ken
