massive1974
I've just tried the game out on my pc at work (ssshhht). This is the rig: Celeron CPU 2.80GHZ 504 RAM intergated Intel 82865G graphics controller so to speak and this is what I got at home: Win XP SP2, AMD 2400+, 1 GIG RAM, Radeon 9600, 256 MB. and IT RUNS BETTER at work. maybe it's the atmosphere...

track
Yes the game. Clearly it is a processor related performance issue.
massive1974
i see. oh well, i'll jus get a pentium then.
track
Just make sure that your system is not running other tasks in the background. Like some nice unwanted third party s***tware.
massive1974
ok, that's easily done. but i think i've been there already. anyway, thanks for the tip. if anyone else has any idea ... it would be welcome.
track
If your hardware and OS are OK then it must be the processor that makes the difference. What operating systems do these computers have? Both WinXPs? Vista has lower gaming performance than XP. Some games also refuse to run prperly with Vista.
massive1974
yep, both have XPs, so it must be sth else...first i thought it was my videocard but then seeing this integrated crap perform better...man
track
That integrated graphics card is a real puzzle. According to all logic it should be slow with games.
Martin Krejcirik
This could be anything, but first I would try different graphics drivers.
J Ruddy
FYI: It runs great on my AMD 2600+ at home.
massive1974
I just got home so i'll try a couple of older drivers as well. thanks guys
jomni
This is true. I though my old PC cannot play this game but the demo works just as long as we keep battles small and graphics detail manageable. Pentium 4 3GHz 512MB RAM ATI Radeon 9250 256MB. Theory... this game uses OpenGL. Maybe newer cards forgot about OpenGL and focused on DirectX. Downgrade your ATI driver. My ATI driver is not the latest.
massive1974
Well, Track was right. Last night I checked again and yes, there was third party crap running in the background. Now I can run it reasonably well with medium settings. Even large maps. and with the latest drivers for the Radeon 9600. no crashes so far. Thanks for all your help
